How can you choose the right power bank?

Simply look at your device's battery and check the rating. For a smartphone with a 1,500mAh battery, try to get a power bank with a rating of 5,000mAh or more. This will give you at least three full charging cycles.

For tablets with bigger batteries (4000mAh or more), a 5,000mAh power bank would only charge once. So, you should get one with a rating of at least 10,000mAh.

In this post, I'll be reviewing the Huawei Ascend W1, a high quality, low price phone that competes well with Nokia's Lumia 620. This smartphone runs on the Windows Phone 8 OS.

Now, let's go into more details.

Display

The Huawei Ascend W1 has a 4-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The image quality is great, and the colors are very bright and rich. The screen's contrast levels are great, and it shows much detail in images. In short, it's a quality screen.

Performance and memory

The Huawei Ascend W1 packs a 1.2GHz processor, an Adreno 305 GPU, and 512MB of RAM. Running on Windows Phone 8, the phone is as fast as many others that are even more expensive. The device has 4GB of internal memory, which can be expanded to 32 GB using a microSD card.

Where the Ascend W1 really stands out is its battery life. Its large 1,950mAh battery can last up to 12 hours of video playback with the screen set to half brightness, giving it almost twice as much battery life as its Nokia rivals. Camera

Though this device was at the top of the list earlier in the year, the more recent devices have pushed it down to number 4. But that still doesn't take away the fact that it's a very good and durable device.

This is presently the best of the medium sized Android devices by Tecno. Though, it's battery isn't as strong as the L3, it is better than the L3 in terms of camera and having 3.75G connectivity.

No 3.75G (only 2G and 3G), 3.5-inch display, Android 4.1 OS (Jelly Bean), 1.0GHz dual core processor, GPU embedded, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, 3MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, 2400mAH Li-Ion battery.

This device rocks mainly because of its very strong battery.

7. Tecno P5

Though it has a 4-inch display, this still doesn't get it a position ahead of M3 and L3 because it lacks 3.75G connectivity. But it's a good buy for those who really need a large display.

Also a new device, this smartphone isn't as impressive as one would expect. In fact, one would wonder why Tecno came up with the device in the first place. It's good, however, for those who want to use something different from P3, L3, and M3.

Seeing something out of nothing

Maybe the world of Tecno Android smartphones have come to stay for good. Tecno-mobile have added yet another low-end Android P5 Device to it's series of Smartphones. The tecno P5 is such an alluring smartphone with exuberant substantial functions at a ridiculous\affordable price when compared to the likes of Samsung Smartphones or Sony Smartphones.


The new Tecno P5 literally is an upgrade to the Tecno P3 that came out some few months back. ( to order at parktelonline call 08084667600, 08098597005). So to say, the full specs of the P5 will be reviewed and compare to other Tecno devices where necessary.

Operating System

The Tecno P5 is structured to run on Android 4.2 OS(jellybean) and this is indeed an immense upgrade to the Tecno Android P3 that runs on the 2.3.5 OS(Gingerbread). Hence, some apps that might not be compatible with the Android 2.3.5 of the Tecno P3 will definitely run on the P5 platform. Just as a reminder, one downside of most Tecno smartphones is that they are not upgradable, the operating system is stuck with the version it was modeled with.

Memory And Dimension

Though Tecno-mobile are radically stingy when it comes to internal memory and Ram, the Tecno P5 with it's ridiculous price was intuitively equipped with 4GB ROM + 512MB of RAM and can be expanded with MircoSD, up to 32GB .This is a great improvement, which will enable the games lovers,social media mongoose and other app freaks to install as many apps as they want. It also features a 124.3x65.5x10.5mm as the dimension which is slightly higher than the Tecno P3 which is 115.8*62*11.7mm.

While the tecno P3 device,Tecno Q1 exhibit the normal 3G network, the Tecno p5 was stylishly endowed with 3.75G Band Network together with the usual 2G,3G network. All this rumours flying up and down on the net that ASUU will soon call off the strike is a miss....cos those guys are not ready for any bargaining again.

Following the indefinite strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), last Monday, the union, Sunday, disclosed that it will not suspend the industrial action, unless the Federal Government accedes  to the agreement it reached with it in 2009. This is even as the union debunked reports on some social and online media that it has suspended its one-week old strike.

Speaking with Vanguard, ASUU Chairman, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Chapter, Dr. Karo Ogbinaka said: “The strike is still ongoing. We have not suspended or called-off the strike. Perhaps, before we do that, a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting must be held, then, the resolutions of the meeting will be made known to all chapters of the union,” adding, “The indefinite and total strike will continue, except government meets our demands.”
Meanwhile, FG through its Ministry of Education led by Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufain will  Monday, meet with stakeholders in the industry, which included Vice Chancellors of Federal universities and their Governing Councils, together with interested Vice Chancellors of State and Private universities.
However, at the time of filing this report, full details of agenda for the meeting was not made known. It would recalled that  the union had last Monday, called out its members on an indefinite industrial action over what it termed government’s failure to honour the Academic Earned Allowance (AEA) which formed a component of the 2009 agreement the government signed with the union
