Your point was simply u can't understand how any doctor would downplay the effects of excessive alcohol even if its isn't isn't direct cause of CKD....which is a valid concern...

Tbh tho, what you see is what the government is promoting. Alot of us are frustrated and you can’t blame us. Keeping 3 jobs. Surviving on locum. Even residency na slavery.

The patients suffers it but we are also not being encouraged.

Funny, she’s not far from the truth. Ethanol gets detoxified in the liver into a more water-soluble and ‘urinable’ solvent. This is where the liver gets exposed to continous damage predisposing to Liver Cirrhosis (excessive inflammation).

The kidneys aren’t at risk. However, a heavy drinker is prone to hypertension due to artherosclerosis (damage to the blood vessels and fat accumulation) which is a risk factor for CKD (Chronic kidney disease) and intrinsic AKI due to Renal artery stenosis (ARVD).

So in a nutshell, alcohol have no direct damage on the kidneys. Although it contributes to the development of AKI and CKD indirectly (and that is highly multifactorial).

Going by the above reasoning, let me play Devil’s advocate.....

The show is run by a company with a primary objective to provide content to their subscribers, thereby growing subscribers base , earning more subscription revenue, attracting corporates to advertise thereby generating sponsorship and advertising income....all is geared towards increasing the bottom line of the company.

Why would it matter who wins the show? Why would they leave core issues like production quality, logistics , costing etc to focus on who they should project to win or not?

What's my point?

While biases and favouritism may creep into housemate selections or camera focus , it isnnot necessarily a decision or focus for the producers of the show. However, because human resource is required to man the different aspects of the show to bring it to a success, biases would creep in based on the individual types charged with certain aspects or responsibilities for the show.

For instance, the camera crew on duty may like certain housemates and focus on them during their shift, those in charge of selections may compromise to favour "known people".....those who decide the number of people to be evicted may alter based on their biases for the hm's up....

So when we say biggie....we should know we are talking about hundreds of people in different departments all injecting their own biases which dictates the outcome of the show....

Even without reading the brochure I was wondering how they got it wrong. Cos its only personal loans that monthly payment is based on total amount disbursed whereas for credit cards it's a % of amount utilized.
