haba when did politics degenerate to this, we all know PMB is doing his best but of course no one is perfect and definitely flaws are expected, but his tireless effort to make Nigeria great is commendable.

This is a usual thing ambo has been doing and no much noise. Until we stop celebrating these politicians, they won't take masses serious. I beg what is so special here that he is bringing battalions of Governors. I don't understand. To commission, yes, but why heavy presence of these Governors for a little projects, I don't understand, unless they have another meeting underground

. The money that might be wasted on hosting these people will be able to lay off many salaries being owed.

Politics / Re: Ministers Did Not Have The Time To Screen Budget Properly – Presidency by SDAC: 10:16pm On Feb 13, 2016
tuale4u:
This is the time for Nigerians to pay more attention to the positive impact of the current happenings in the NASS defence budget than focus on unnecessary technicalities and use of English.

For the first time in 16years, the executive led by PMB have refused to defend inflation of Budget that some government officials and civil servants would have easily stole. The current rejection of some huge figures by various ministers is a clear reflection of president Buhari anti-corruption stand. It is very difficult to indict yourself on a document you signed. it takes courage, sincerity and high level integrity to do that. We must commend president Buhari for that. For Buhari to openly indict himself in public when he can easily make a deal with the senate president by compromising the trust the people place on him like it was done in the past just to cover a little "embarrassment" is very commendable.

We need to tell ourselves the truth. Most of the items in the Budget that are rejected today by Buhari administration, are items that have be existing in the Budget for the last 3 or more years. The items have been defended in the past without any scrutiny by the National Assembly because in the past corruption was worship.

I know some people will argue that PMB is to be blame for the current embarrassment. Yes I agree that the Budget is his responsibility. However we must as well tell ourselves the truth that there is no way PMB would have read all the 1000 page documents. No president in the world does that. The truth is that the civil servants who made the budget estimate did it base on previous template and mindset in the past. They did not fully understand the change agenda of PMB. Hopefully by 2017 budget, we will have less of this misunderstanding between PMB stand and the civil servants interpretation of his stand. Some people will argue why use a template from a previous government you condemn. We must be sincere and know that change is gradual and takes time. The change agenda is a 4year to 8year agenda. So everything cannot be changed in months.

We must also know that the reason the National Assembly is doing more critical work in this budget rather than rubber stamping it as they use to do in the past is because of Buhari anti-corruption stand. If Buhari was sharing Ghana must go to the senate like it use to be in the past, there will be less noise coming from the National Assembly.

I work in a multinational company. I have not met any boss who reads 100 page documents prepared by me or any other of his staff page to page. Some of us here on nairaland are bosses too. For that we can forgive PMB for poor oversight for a document of about 1000 pages.

I am not saying this Budget and the process are perfect. But what I am clearly saying is that, this Budget and National Assembly scrutiny of the Budget, and ministers open rejection of possible inflation is the best Nigeria has had in the last 16 years. This is a major progress every sincere and objective Nigerian who loves the progress of this country should applaud. Because this new development is in the best interest of the country.

I am very happy with current noise about the Budget. This is a clear sign that Change has come. And change has come to stay.
Change is always difficult. Change usually face a lot of resistance and rough path. This Budget is actually a BUDGET OF CHANGE.
sorry sir dat budget had passed first reading and successfully scaled through without hitches in d national assembly and was at d second reading if not for vigilant eyes of some journalist who reevaluated d budget and gave a break down of it. Its painful dat PMB has failed us but we must say d truth no matter whose ox is gored.

Pls Op how has that stopped you from actualizing you dreams. I believe d greatest wish of sum1 in Pakistan,Afghanistan and Syria is to ve a peacful enviroment to actualize their dreams but dats a joke of d year, yet dy struggle to survive. Here in Nigeria, I as an igbo person can move freely in all d state of Nigeria without any phobia, I can attend any school I wish to attend as long as I merit it nd its within my catchment area, I can work any where. Mind you d person who created all dis mind set of secession(major J kaduna Nzeogwu) never supported ojukwu nd his idiosyncrasies of biafra, kaduna believed in one Nigeria. He said nd I unequivocally quote "secession will b ill advised, indeed impossible. Even if d east fights a war of secession and wins, it still cannot secede. Personally, I don't like secession and if this country disintegrates, I shall pack my things and go." this country being refer to as zoo has produced great amazons and orators of which some were trained within d confines of d East nd impacted positively in other part of our dear country Nigeria, others were not trained within d confines of d east, mind u when I say trained I mean in d tertiary institutions xample of great igbo amazons and orators are chinua achebe, Dora akunyili, ken saro wiwa(hu never supported biafra) , d great zik, chimamanda, professor anyawu(first Nigeria cardiothoracic surgeon) Philip emeagwali. jst to mention but a few. D so called zoo has also produced great pple e.g d great nd dreaded gani fawengimi(Hu stood 4 d truth even against his own pple), bola ige, wole soyinka, tafa belewa, professor ladoke(first Nigeria neurosurgeon) d great great AWO I can continue to go on nd on mentioning great nigerians irrespective of their origin. D onus now lies on us we d take over generation, to superced their achievment nd this can only b achieved by we working assiduously to defend our dear county Nigeria in every ramifications, rather than celebrating our ignorance, I believe in one great country which is Nigeria. With all sense of humility my advice to us all is let us work hard and give our very best to d world nd nigeria, d world is waiting for us, it waited for chinua achebe he give his best to literature, it waited for Gani he gave his best as a legal luminary nd a justice fighter, it waited for d great AWO nd he delivered w d help of GOD, u also can do it. For d record I am an igbo boy fresh to d socks. God bless Nigeria.

Laughs Boss!!! True shaa, I grab Sir!!
What has merits has demerits too,
While Wole is good at grammar/vocabs and helps people to fumble through dictionaries and struggle with understanding the message or idea he's trying to pass, Chinua just passes the message and everything just ends, communication happens!
Great!
But Information/communication has a dual effect - the vocab improvement and the message. there are instances you hardly can pass the message we intended because words don't suit or can't express the full concept or impression of our message.. Communication hasn't taken place then.. It's not because there are no words to express the message but because we don't have them at our disposals, this hinders communication..
In an attempt to convey the true context of the message, what we title "VOCAB" results! However, this doesn't happen all the time,.
And I'm trying to say that information must not always be within the terms of our reach, though most times, it's not so.
In as much as the message is the fore figure in communication, vocabs is built alongside.. We'll always remain where we are if the information format are just in terms of the simple words we have ever learnt or always known. There'll be no improvement. so we have to be developed on both sides.. Chinua Achebe does this anyway and that's what gives him the edge..
Sorry abeg we no dey do mass communication/GST class here but improvement in learning should be all round - Being able to pass the message and also to help build your readers; none should exceed the other! This is what makes Wole boring somewhat for the general readers but it's good and bad shaa..

Sorry my text dey dey to lexical and boring! I'll readjust sir.

No doff for me oo boss! Na your boy I be oo Sir!!
u are great nd I love great men hu culd spur me.

keep d flag flying

Alright, true saying though sir.. But,. I know the language and construction for certain is exotic but the context of the message is true for all, whether western, Hispanic, praire or African; that medicine is in most views seen or treated as a choice of career than as a calling/vocation all around the world, constraining the goals, limits and idea of impacts to just "profession" thereby placing much value on personal interests, than when it's regarded as a service or ministration, where you administer to your patients and serve them, that way personal ends is secondary, service to save and make better now trenches utmost priority!! That was the message!! It's true for all physicians or aspiring physicians around the globe!! This mentality/idea of service as a clergy to his congregation or parishioners is rampant...
I dough my cap 4 u Gideon u are eloquent and I admire dat but on a conical and logical note, u are not communicating, u are flexing ur rich vocabulary and not everybody understand u thereby u are not passing d knowledge u want 2 pass. For dis reason many pple do not read wole soyinka work, if u read a book written by chinua achebe and a book written by wole, u would see d diff. Chunua communicates and even a primary school student would get and understand d message being passed, wole 2 me jst display his intellectual and vocab sagacity. So I tink u shld b explicit in ur writeup.

I studied very hard for 2015 utme and scored 264, wrote post utme and had 76/100. Due to some political reasons, I wasn't offered medicine rather I was given Human Physiology to study. Though I intend starting HPYS, I have registered for 2016 JAMB. My problem now is that I feel lazy and reluctant preparing harder for this exam and my schedules are quite tight. Pls, my dear friends I need counselling?
hello friend I share your pain cause we are on d same train though u did better Dan me what institution pls? Sincerely if I am 2 advice u I would say u should go 4 physiology I know its not funny but sincerely I will advice u 2 go bcox u are not so sure of ur fate in dis upcoming jamb but u ve an opportunity already as shakesspare said there is a tide in d affairs of men which if taken at d flood leads on 2 fortune but of omitted, all there life is bound in shallows nd miseries. I tink u ve an opportunity nd I tink u should take it. Though physiology is not all dat good in Nigeria but after it u can go 4 D.E in medicine also since u are very gud u can work so hard 2 b d best in d uni. Nd mayb u can b retained in d uni. Above all b very prayerful nd pls make a pact with God nd know his purpose 4 ur lyf. Also ask experienced pple questions.
