TravelRe: What Is The Cost Of Living In Abuja?? by SDEC: 10:05pm On Sep 04, 2020
dukeprince50:
Good day nairalanders, I plan on relocating to Abuja but I do not know how expensive it is and what to expect, though I heard its a very expensive place.

I am just a young man in his late twenties, I won't be living in a place where the affluent lives neither do I need a place where the poorest lives lol, I just need a cool place, and oh I am not married so I am living alone, I am not extravagant in spending and I am also not a miser but just someone who will just lives average like every other young man out there.

Just see me as a guy who wants to live in a cool self contain rather one room or bedroom
I wish to know how much I'll budget for monthly expenses and cost of housing
You can opt for an average accommodation from any of Nyanya, Old karu, Jikwoyi etc. You can get selcon of about 100-150k, one bedroom flat of 200-250k, cost of living is affordable. Transportation to town would cost you 800-1000 minimum depending on you destination but you won't enjoy going to work from that axis cos of the morning and evening kugbo traffic. You can also check Galadima, Apo, Mpape, Kubwa, Area1. There are affordable houses there too with easy access to town

EducationRe: Graduates Of Sociology, Where Are You Working Now? by SDEC: 10:14am On Sep 04, 2020

Am already a student
It aint that easy switching to law
U saying sociology is useless just makes me scared
Are you a sociologist?
You can't take everybody's advise. Sociology is not entirely useless. In fact you have better opportunities especially in law enforcement. If you don't like a job that involves guns there are others like Immigration, NDLEA, ICPC, EFCC e.t.c with departments where you don't need a gun. Go through with your Sociology and maybe a masters in Criminology, make good grades, build your communication skills and intellect and the sky would be your limit. You can still get your lecturing job with that combination, I'm a Criminology student and most of my lecturers a sociologists with masters in criminology because during their time we didn't have criminology in Nigeria. Destinies and grace differs. There's no harm in learning one or two skills though.

PoliticsRe: Idia Ize-Iyamu Storms Auchi In Edo North For APC Campaign (Photos) by SDEC: 8:55am On Sep 02, 2020
Las las Edo will record only 2 or 5 covid19 cases at the end of all these campaign rallies. Where are all those people shouting reopening schools now is suicidal?

EducationRe: Tertiary, Primary & Secondary Schools To Reopen In Lagos From September 14 & 21 by SDEC:
samuelpeters:
Nope.
Tertiary institutions in all States(state owned and FG) are controlled by FMoE.
State Government can only control primary and Secondary Schools.
In this Context of resumption.
Education is under the concurrent legislative list of Nigeria's constitution, meaning both Federal and State governments have independent jurisdiction in terms of making decisions concerning schools. The state government has spoken and it stands. I wonder why other states are still waiting for go ahead from FG

NCDC please oo stop giving us outrageous figures in plateau state. I'm in jos and as small as the town is we don't know and haven't seen anyone with corona. They just pack pple suspected to be infected and add them to confirmed cases, keep them for a week and later release them, which explains the reason for this many discharges even without a cure/vaccine. Enough of this nonsense please!
EducationRe: 78 Private Universities Ready To Resume - Nwajiuba, Education Minister Of State by SDEC: 1:54pm On Aug 25, 2020
The Federal Government's indecisiveness towards reopening of schools is getting out of hand. It didn't take them months of stakeholders meetings to reach a decision to reopen local and international flights. A government that only responds where it benefits them. We don't have all the patience in the world when time is ticking and you impose age restrictions on job seekers. Please reopen our schools.
