it's only in SW yorubas you will see people planning not to rent house to anybody from a particular section of Nigeria. SW Yorubas are as Xenophobic as South Africans. They're full of hate.

The problems the OP observed is not really a problem to many in the south. Some of things OP pointed out centered on religion which will rattle nerves in SW which has substantial Muslim populations. That's why it's difficult to see those Yoruba Muslims reason on the same page with the OP.
