I dont post much in response to you but i do notice folks and what they tend to talk about.

And there goes the problem, if you didnt get a chance to live in the US would you still not give a damn about Liberia? truth is you're not much different from the nigerians here . . . they spend all their time badmouthing the African continent just because a white man pitied them with a passport. Sorry but you do know Charles Taylor was a stooge for the same America you profess to love? You do know that the reason Liberia is split into two bitter factions is because of the US right? Or you just love the US because its shiny and cute with no principles at all?

Please, I wish you could have seen what I saw. Dead bodies laying everywhere, gunshots all through the day and the night, family members getting killed in your presence, bombs going off, etc. I am not gonna get into politics here. I do not care about Liberia because Liberia does not care about me. I will always consider America a home over Liberia. Home is where the heart is and the US is where mine is. Liberia will hold a special place in my heart but I am not forced to love Liberia just because its where I was born.

If I was not living in America, I still would not care about Liberia. If I was living in Ghana or Togo and enjoying these opportunities, I would profess my love for Ghana or Togo any day over Liberia.

you're just 20 no wonder. When you wake up tell me. You'll be writing children's books? Like Eze goes to school or Ali and Simbi?

You think those dreams are unreachable?? I am up now, not sleeping. Writing has always been my passion. Almost every month I am writing new stories, attending creative writing workshops on campus and more. I have a wild imagination which always helps. One day you will be reading my stories to your children before bedtime. Never say never!! grin

She does live in the US, she's made sure everyone here knows that fact about her since she's been on this site. You'd be hard pressed to believe she spent her formative yrs in Liberia . . . its always America this, America that. I wonder where we live. The moon i guess.  grin

Frankly, I do not give a damn about Liberia. When I lived there, all I heard was gunshots. I will profess my love for America over that useless country any day. When I think of Liberia, all I picture are dead bodies thanks to Charles Taylor.

Another thing, I hardly ever bragged about living in America on nairaland. The last thread I made about the US was asking folks for advice on American citizenship since I was starting the process. I don’t know where you get the idea that I sit on here all day bragging about living in the good ole USA.

I'm trying hard to be nice but a double major in English and education is not something you shld be telling a nigerian.  grin what exactly are you going to be? A teacher? You just said it as if you were telling us you were studying something significant. English ko Creole ni.

I'm laughing at your first statement. Anyway, I shall answer your question. I plan on writing children books, textbooks, teaching English in foreign nations, teaching disable children, writing poetry, plays, etc. With my degrees, the sky is the limit. After that, I plan on getting my masters in Education Administration and become the head of my own school. Any more question about my majors? What did you think I was going to do the rest of my life?? Stand in a middle school and teach English to rude kids?

Oh puhlease. grin When did you come to America? Does your family have roots here? Didnt you just read up on it now you are one of those who knows the "real reason behind it"?

What in the world are you talking about? You claimed I was bragging about living in America but now you are asking me questions about it. Please, the day I arrived here has nothing to do with knowing the meaning of Thanksgiving. Its common knowledge.

Double majoring in English and Education, id.iot like you.  I should not be conversing with you. You are not up to par with me, age-wise and intellectually.

HAHAHAHA, English and Education. God forbid bad thing

Anyway, go enjoy your Thanksgiving.

Graduated from a prestigious university? haha, If only wishes were horses. GTFOH .You graduated from yaba left with a degree in house cleaning. cheesy Now, go and scrub that bathroom like you were taught in school you insignificant human. Prestigious university my a.s.s. LMAO. I know I promise not to respond to your stupidity but I just cant ignore your newest drivel.
Look at you again being ignorant. Is being ignorant a second job for you? You are one of those fools who, to make yourself feel better about your situation, claim that those of us abroad are living like second class citizens right?? Well, you can’t be more wrong.

FYI, I am not working as a cleaner in the US. I am double majoring in English and Education and will be graduating in a few years. I am just 20 but I have accomplished more in my life than you can ever dream off. You are not the king of the jungle in Lagos. You are just an ignorant houseboy who gets slapped and kicked by your oga on a daily basis. In his eyes, you are worthless.
Now, get off your ass and go get your chores done you slowpoke.

After spending five years in America, you now know more than Americans?

Look if you like, carry America for ya head, na u sabi.

It is my prayer that they deny you their citizenship so you can do us all a favor by hanging yaself. People like you should not live among us, your ilk are in Igbo Irunmale, living with demons and beasts.

LMAO. Look at this uneducated he-goat. Please, go sit down somewhere with this rubbish you are on here posting. You are making yourself look like a fool. The message in your signature says it all about your brain capacity. When grown folks are conversing, shut up and listen.

This is my last time responding to you. I'll be celebrating thanksgiving with my family on the big day. Whatever I choose to do is none of your business. I was trying to be civil and respond to you in a dignified manner but you do not deserve it.

Leave your oga's computer. Idiots like you should not hold such privilege. You deserve to be on your knees scrubbing the urine off his bathroom floor not browsing his internet.

give me a break pls  grin What positive message does thanksgiving celebrate? Covetousness on black friday? Consuming so much turkey or enjoying two extra days of the weekend? You sound like no one else lives in America too.

If you think Thanksgiving is all about eating and Black Friday, think again. Like every holiday in America, it has become so commercialized so the meaning is forgotten. Its not just about having a day off. Some of us know the real reason behind it and thats why we celebrate it.

With regards to celebrating thanksgiving because its about getting together with family? Spare the nonsense . . . dont africans do that as well?  grin
Ask us what we eat for christmas then we'll be charitable to you.

We all live in different states. Thanksgiving is the only time we all get together to eat, laugh, and play. Yes, some African families get together but not all and definitely not mine. Thanksgiving allow us to reunite again. Thats why most people celebrate it. Its not just about eating but also a day to celebrate with family. I don't know where you get the idea that I celebrate Thanksgiving to be more American.

You and your friend came in here and decide to spoil my good Thanksgiving thread. I am not surprised. This is Nairaland after all.

^^ Give thanks for what, Mrs. " I live in America?"

BTW, Thanksgiving is not celebrated in Canada, at least not the kind of Thanksgiving that is celebrated in America.

Also, Thanksgiving is not celebrated by all Americans.

And Yes, I work in the White house!

You can diss me all you want, it still has not changed the fact that you are just following the crowd mindlessly!

Think for a second, Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease

Dude, stop being ignorant. What crowd am I following?? Thanksgiving is a great holiday with a very positive message that people celebrate. Your ignorance is making me laugh. Take your own advice and use your brain. If you are not celebrating Thanksgiving, leave the thread. No one is forcing you to come here and spill your idiocy.

PS: Of course you work in the White House. The one in Lagos that is and as a freaking house help. Abeg, go and clean the oga bathroom and make it fast. Foolish kid!!

lol i dont understand why Seant21 needs to tell us at the slightest opportunity that she lives in America. We know everything about you. You just took the citizenship oath less than a yr ago and yet you're trying too hard to act more american than those born there.

Who cares what anyone eats on thanksgiving? I'm not eating anything - i'd be on the road for the most part. Time to go see the world and enjoy a few days away from the chaos that is life.

lol yeah we know "most americans" celebrate thanksgiving, many of us knew that before you were born. Find something else to do.

Too many people struggling to force themselves into American tradition . . . tomorrow they'll be back to ask us what to do about their lack of affinity to anything African. I bet if it was an African tradition most of you would shy away from it and pretend you never heard of it.

Care to enlighten us on anything Liberians celebrate? grin

LMAO. Where do I brag about living in America? What citizenship oath?? I did not even take my test yet you are talking about taking oath.

Please, celebrating Thanksgiving is not about trying to be American. I celebrate it because it’s about getting together with family, eating and giving thanks for all your blessings. There are other American holidays that I do not celebrate like Halloween.

About Liberian traditions? Christmas is always a favorite.
grin
Food / Re: Whats For Thanksgiving? by SeanT21(f): 1:23am On Nov 22, 2010
Please stop broadcasting your lack of knowledge on the topic. Do you even live in America?

Anyway, let me enlighten you again. Thanksgiving is an American tradition but it’s not only for Americans. I live in America and I can tell you that Thanksgiving is celebrated by almost everyone, including foreigners. Thanksgiving is a national holiday. People stay home, cook, eat and give thanks. Thanksgiving is also celebrated in Canada, not only America.

Please, do not come in here broadcasting your ignorance to the world. Go and learn more about Thanksgiving before typing rubbish. Don’t embarrass the Nigerian education system like this you foolish kid.

Most people in America, whether foreigners or not, celebrate thanksgiving. Its a wonderful tradition.

If you are not celebrating Thanksgiving, why are you even responding to this thread?
