This is a very good observation. seplat show a full disclosure of what make up it cost of sales, i am still looking for what make up the cost of sales of N1.9 trillion for Oando.

Please if you find it out please share. Or any other information that shed light on what their assumptions for Revenues and cost of sales are and how this differs markedly with seplat.

Delisting aside. Also finance costs aside Oando needs to show operations with stronger margins. The 2022FY conveyed an extremely high revenue as revenue jumped from N805b to N1,993 billion. A rise of 148%. But cost of sales jumped up at a faster rate of 151% and nearly wiped out the whole revenue. Oando achieved a 4% Gross profit in 2022. While seplat had a gross profit of 49% in 2022. Gross profit is before any finance cost is deducted. The Gross Profit is unusually low in the last two annual reports released.

The only thing Oando needs now to appreciate in price is the issues of delist, once it is settled (suspended) which will be cleared by 24th of June 2024.there is no further adjournment the price will skyrocket.

If you are in anyof the above, and you need money urgently...

Just be patient as its not comming soon.

Just know that we are together
We are all stuck.

True, but it's still strange why the market maker has refused to purchase 100k units at least to take the stock to an equilibrium where their will be offer and bid available, or they don't want the price to go lower from the current??

They don't realize that Nigeria is making more and saving more forex ever than before.

Soon importation of fuel will be gone forever and forex demand will be very low.

As at now, In-market rate for dollar exchange is 920.

I don't understand how people think CBN is defending the naira, if they are doing so, CBN will bring a fixed rate but it's totally opposite.
Fx is dropping seriously and that's the true meaning of floating a currency.

Infact it might drop to 600 anytime soon

If I have to choose between 600 to USD on a $30bn reserves and 900 to USD with a $50bn reserves, I'd choose the latter.

I don't think the naira is worth up to 600 anymore given how much naira we've printed in recent years.

Imo, the CBN should start working on building a healthy level of reserves going forward.

While on the fiscal side,
1. They should start working on tackling this persistent decline in oil production. I read this morning that just cos of some people playing politics by stopping the deal that was to transfer MNPU's assets to seplat, we're missing out on almost 500,000bpd capacity. I really don't see why that seplat deal should not have been allowed to go through. NNPC claims they spend $48 to produce every barrel of oil, imagine that ineeficiency, meaning if oil dips to $50, our economy is in trouble but last I checked, seplat was doing only about $12. Look at that massive difference. NNPC will have to sell oil at $130 to meet up.

2. They should be more aggressive dealing with bandits in the north, so we can have better results from our agriculture. Imagine having trillions in defence budget, yet we're still hearing excuses. There are lots of well known bandit camps in the north, those camps can be left to exist even though their kingpins have taken out hundreds of our soldiers, yet we've besieging Okuama and ignomaturu?? Doesn't really make sense that they haven't leveled those bandits' camps.

3. One ton of Gold is about $80m, South Africa, despite several years of mining can still do 100 tons per month, why can't we who haven't been mining as much from our reserves target about 10tons per month and be earning $800m per month. I learnt there are places in Zamfara where just rainfall alone will expose some gold deposits. At 15 tons per month we could be getting $1.2bn into the economy and from that maybe $200m -$400m as taxes and royalties.

That will be a lovely thing if it happens grin
But make him stay up like seplat and not fall back like AP
Make him embrace quarterly dividends like global oil companies that seplat has emulated.

I however think it depends on the cost price of the stocks in the portfolio..... Except he's insinuating that he bought @CPs
If for instance, he has Sugar @17, SALT @13, Conoil @18, MRS @12, seplat @350, GTCO@17, ZEE @18 cost price, then we can't just conclude it could turn to loss easily like that..
I believed he must have weigh his options not to Rebalance the portfolio at loss sha.

The scenario you're painting is not ideal for that question, Madam. The prices he bought those stocks at isn't relevant to the future gain/loss potential. As at today, he has about 50m worth of value. Equities market should be appreciated for growing his funds. But he should put emotions aside and look at the potential benefits of continuing to hold the stocks at current prices vs the yield from fixed income.

In reality, it's not all black and white. I don't believe in leaving the market totally. If stocks are overvalued, I recommend you sell down and get assets with better potentials and vice versa. Of course, this is my perspective.

What about Betaglass, Notore, Berger, DANGCEM, JBERGER, etc.

Someone was complaining about not been able to exit seplat recently. Some of these big caps too can trap for many days. They have their movement periods too........

So, let's not continue to focus on Penny Stocks alone......and be quick to tag it and try to make it seems that someone is MH it to trap people.

The same Multiverse @13 is actually N1.30k if we consider the pre-construction period.
It was trading @0.20k/0.24k before the 1:10 (1 for every 10 held) reconstruction took place

When it comes to big caps illiquidity, Conoil is Baba.
Conoil can trap you for a month.
Any positive news Full-Bidd
Any negative news Full-Offer

seplat is more about capital appreciation than dividends
The ANOH gas project and the Exonnmobil asset purchase are the major reasons for the capital appreciation.
Gas project is ready for commissioning but the asset purchase is still awaiting FG approval.

Gas project is expected to double their earnings, while the asset purchase when approved should multiply the blessings.

Hello house. Do companies pay dividend twice a year based on this information? Kindly explain please

@akpumpy note that It’s not a rule that a company pays dividends twice or once a year rather dividend payment and the frequency of payment depends on the policy of the company concerned. There is no hard and fast rule about it.
All things being equal, a company that made profit is expected to pay its shareholders dividends, they can choose to pay it quarterly e.g seplat, bi-annually e.g members of FUGAZ except FBNH, or annually which is the usual practice for many companies on NGX.
However, this has to be done following the regulators' guidelines and shareholders' approval when required..

The era of fx gains for banks will certainly continue, atleast in q1 2024 as the naira continue to fall in price.
seplat should increase their $ valuation for dividend as well.
