That is possible only if your school is agreeable to the idea to pay you the excess. However, using any loan to fully cover for tuition and living expenses is very dicey with VOs, who might flag it, they will say there was no evidence that the funds had been paid to the school or applicant. Lenders like Mpower only pay disburse the loans after you have been granted SP.

So you need to have your own funds at least to cover some part of your living expenses and flight tickets, these can be added to the Mpower loan.

I don't plan on using the loan for living expenses just for tuition only.
I already have up to N16m for living expenses.

The reason why I asked is that I don't know if it's required of me to explain to the VO how I plan to cover the loan repayment terms during my study period.
I was thinking of coming clean with the VO that the excess loan approved will be used during my studies to offset the loan repayment terms but not sure if that's a wise move.

Please kindly advice

Please I need clarification on this;

I heard that when you apply for mpower loan, it's advisable to add extra portion that will cover for your repayment while studying and that you can collect the excess from your school?

Please how true is that

I stated clearly in my SOP how the program will help my business in future and the account I used isn't dormant, have been using that account for a very long time and transactions has been going in and out.

The property I sold I attached deed of sales agreement from a registered law firm. The property was sold two weeks before my submission due to delay of payment from buyer. The account has been running with some lump sum for over four months which I explained on my SOP.

I didn't attached any time form to my application
I will suggest you get your GCMS note

I will leave it for the gurus to respond but as far as I know and observed, if you indicate you plan to work to survive, it is a definite refusal.

I was thinking same

Just that I'm having trouble explaining how I'll get the living expenses for the second year
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by seawealth(m): 12:08pm On Nov 28, 2023
Please if one shows a pof of 10k for 1 year living expenses while going for 2 years program. Is it required to explain how you plan to secure the one to cover for the other year. If yes, then can you explicitly say you intend to raise the living expenses for the other year by working part time during your studies?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by seawealth(m): 12:03pm On Nov 28, 2023
MatrixReloaded:

You have to show 10k as living expense, additional 4k for any accompanied family member.
4*3=12k +10k =22k CAD living expense
5k balance
Total = 27k cad.
Based on oanda rate you will have 18m total.
Left with 1m equivalent to 1450 Cad.
Your transport and miscellaneous for the whole period would reduce the totL funds pushing either you are ur spouse to work in other to survive.
You need about 50m naira to scale through, you people need to stop messing up application with unprepareness of finance. Travel alone and secure spot for family members..

Please which exchange is 1m to 1450cad?

That's great that you have some side hustles and pictures of your finished projects to showcase! While it's not necessary to mention your unregistered business in your CV or Statement of Purpose (SOP), you can definitely highlight your relevant skills and experiences gained from those side hustles.

In your CV, you can include a section for "Additional Experience" or "Freelance Work" where you can briefly mention the type of projects you've worked on and the skills you've developed. You can also include a link to an online portfolio or attach some of your project pictures.

In your SOP, you can focus on how your side hustles have helped you develop valuable skills, such as problem-solving, creativity, or entrepreneurship. You can mention specific projects you've worked on as examples of your practical experience.

Note, it's important to be honest and transparent about your experiences, but you don't need to mention the business being unregistered. Focus on highlighting the skills and accomplishments you gained from your side hustles.

I hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Good luck with your applications!

It will end in praise

This is very helpful.

Thanks so much

Writing a strong Statement of Purpose (SOP) is definitely doable, and I'm here to give you some ideas! When presenting your situation to a visa officer, it's important to be honest, clear, and concise. Here are some tips to help you write a sound SOP:

1. Start with an engaging introduction: Grab the reader's attention by sharing your passion for your chosen field of study and your motivation for pursuing higher education.

2. Explain your academic background: Describe your educational qualifications, including your degree and any relevant coursework or research projects.

3. Highlight your work experience: Emphasize the skills and knowledge you've gained through your current job. Discuss your responsibilities, achievements, and how they relate to your chosen field of study.

4. Discuss your financial situation: Be transparent about your financial circumstances, including your savings and your intention to apply for an mpower loan to cover the tuition costs. Explain how you plan to manage your living expenses during your studies.

5. Demonstrate your commitment: Show the visa officer that you have a clear plan for your studies and how it aligns with your long-term goals. Discuss how the program you're applying to will contribute to your personal and professional development.

6. Address any study gap: If applicable, briefly explain your gap years since your graduation from the University . Focus on the strengths you bring to the table, such as your job stability and financial preparedness.

7. Proofread and edit: Ensure your SOP is well-written, error-free, and follows the guidelines provided by the immigration authorities.

Additionally, it's always a good idea to review sample SOPs and seek feedback from trusted friends or mentors who have experience in the application process. Good luck with your SOP, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask here! 😊

It will end in praise

Thanks for the guide.

Please I also have some side hustles I do but the business is not registered, so is it advisable to mention such in my CV and SOP as well. I have pictures of some finished projects to show

Please I need help on how to write sound SOP.
I'm single and has no landed properties or business of my own. The only thing I have is my current job and with it I have been able to save around 8m to cover for living expenses. I however intend to apply for mpower loan to cover for tuition cost

How do I present my situation to a VO. I want to do the process myself without using an agent. I'm sure it's doable
