Jeff just topped the Microsoft founder, Gates for the first time ever with the fortune of $90 billion.
According to Forbes, the opening of markets today, July 27 got Bezos to a net worth of $90.6 billion, putting him more than $500 million ahead of Bill Gates. Amazon stock opened up 1.6% on Thursday, adding $1.3 billion to Bezos’ net worth. That was enough to put him ahead of Gates, who was last surpassed on Forbes’ real-time rankings for just two days nearly a year ago by Spanish retail giant Amancio Ortega.

Forbes started tracking billionaires around the globe in 1987. Bezos is now the seventh person to hold the title of the world’s richest person and the third American to top the global ranks besides Gates and Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett.

Imelda closed her eyes hoping that she would reopen them in a more pleasurable reality. She counted one, two, and three underneath her breath, then slowly opened her eyes to realize that nothing had changed. She was still held against her will inside a small room with white walls and ceiling.

Her hair grew unhindered, some covering her eyes. Her lips were dry and her skin was beginning to pale but her baby-like face and small stature made her look at least a decade younger than her true age of thirty-five.
She sat on the side of the bed and pulled out a notebook from under her pillow. She flipped the cover and began to read the content.
“My name is Imelda Lawson James, I am the first of three children of Engr. Okechukwu and Arch. (Mrs) Ifeanyi Lawson. I was born into affluence. Last Christmas while on a family retreat on our yacht. Eric and I announced to the kids that we had made enough deposits and arrangement to handle their tertiary education.”
Suddenly, she closed the notebook and smiled, momentarily forgetting her imprisonment. It took her exactly 10 seconds to return to the state of fear and uncertainty that she had become accustomed to.
She had no memories of how she got into the white room. The last thing she remembered was the family retreat, a courtroom and the men in black.
Someone was coming along the corridor. The footsteps became louder, it sounded like two pairs of footsteps and Imelda’s heartbeat began to race until eventually, everything around her stopped. The person was right in front of her door.
She listened, she looked and was able to make out a shadow from the small space between the
door and the floor. She began to hear voices but it seemed like the voices were coming from inside her head.
“They have come to finish you!”
“We are going to deal with you!”
“We have got you cornered”
“It’s time to pay for all your sins!”
She placed her hands quickly on her head, gently running them through her hair and slowly rubbing her scalp. She put a finger from each hand into her ears as though trying to protest against the many thoughts that struggled to dominate her mind.
She listened as a key entered the keyhole and, as it turned she could hear the sound of the metal bar unlocking the door. Fear became her companion.

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has rubbished unverified online and social media reports claiming that his legendary father, Pete, has passed away. Few days ago, legendary Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, trended online and social media as many wondered why the Nigerian movie’s godfather who is loved by many, has passed away.
In a post on twitter, the son of movie star, Yul Edochie rubbished the false reports, and was furious at the influx of the unconfirmed reports.

The first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has indicated her interest in the case of the 16-year-old JSS 111 student defiled and impregnated by the Vice Principal of her Day Secondary School Tunga Minna institution, Muhammad Muhammed.

This came on the heels of the appearance of the accused person before Magistrate Fati Auna, in Minna on Monday.

According to reports, Mrs Buhari contacted the first lady of Niger state , Dr. Amina Sani Bello, immediately the news broke last week, instructing her that she should ensure justice was done in the matter.

Reports have it that the governor’s wife directed the Director General of the state Child Rights Office to make sure the matter was handled diligently and ensure justice is done.

“The legal department of the Child Rights Office has been briefed and are handling the case, ” the source said.
The Chief Press Secretary to the wife of the Niger state governor, Aisha Wakaso, confirmed the story.

The accused person in the meantime appeared before Magistrate Auna charged with contravening sections 19and25 of the state Child Rights Act.

The prosecutor Abdullahi Maiyaki, told the court that the accused had s*x with the girl three times in his office.

However, the accused said though he had s*x with her it was only once.

Auna, therefore, adjourned the case to Wednesday 5th April, for further hearing and ordered him to be remanded in prison custody.

Controversial actress, Cossy Ojiakor has disclosed that she was offered N30,000 not the widely circulated $10,000 to sleep with a dog in a movie – Chico Ejiro’s movie ItohanShe further shared her parents’ story, how they were treated after that infamous dog scene that gained the actress a notoriety in the movie industry.

One of Nigeria’s most controversial senators, Dino Melaye, during a live television interview declined to answer whether he graduated from Harvard University.

You recall Senator Dino Melaye had previously claimed that he earned degrees from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts and London School of Economics (LSE) in London.

Dino Melaye was on Channels Television's program “Politics Today” when the anchor Seun Akinbaloye, asked him:
“Did you graduate from Harvard? You said you have seven degrees altogether.”Instead of offering a definite answer, Mr. Melaye went on a petty attack on another guest featured in
the program.

After his rigmarole, the anchor came back with his question: “Did you have certificate now?”

When Senator Melaye answered, “Yes,” the anchor followed up with, “Did you have a certificate course in Harvard or you had a degree course in Harvard?”

Rather than answer the question, Mr. Melaye said:
“I believe in investigative journalism, and I am not going to be ridiculed on the platform of a television station. It is not a question and answer series, whatever I have is mine.”Officials at Harvard University and London School had told SaharaReporters that Mr. Melaye never received any degree from their respective institutions.

According to a Facebook user, Jeff Obinani who doubles as an eye withness he shared a story of how a woman said to be pregnant used her condition to extort money from them at a Bank.

'WE were in the bank suddenly I notice a pregnant woman whose water bag has just busted, I ask her why she was here that she suppose to be at the hospital by now, she said she came to withdraw some money for the hospital bills but the bank ask her to bring her BVN now BVN cannot be done in couple of minute anymore.
I ask people to support and help this pregy woman lo and behold Nigeria with our generosity We started contribution money for her We were able to gather over 20k she left quickly because people around are not comfortable with her condition in the bank, the security man held her hand and arrange a taxi for her then she left.
What happened next: I was ask to come downStairs and re-park by the security man, if you have been in Diamond bank awolowo road you will know that all the down floors are car park. Back to the banking Hall I notice the way people were talking has became noisy, some are even looking at me like I did something wrong. What happened : A man was coming to the bank and saw the security man holding the pregnant woman while coming out, he took his time to look at this woman until the woman left with cab. When he came to the banking Hall he oppenly ask, please did that pregnant woman seek for money, at the end the man said she just came out from GTBANK and they gather about 50k for her.
