DrGoodman: Seems it was drawn after Afonja lost Illorin, some of his warriors returned to Oyo and established themselves there. Alimi faithfuls also settled in Oyo empire. Ilorin was only an outpost of Oyo empire. It's possible they settled in Oyo, but it doesn't mean they capture Oyo empire. |

If the line is not doctored, then you drew the line yourself.
Your green line that you drew shows that Fulani caliphate captured almost Yoruba land. Because the green line is closer to Benin.
Which is false, Benin is far away from ilorin. And far away from Fulani |

You drew the green line yourself.
If not the map is doctored and fake, there was no time Oyo were under Fulani. |

What about your governor What is your governor doing with your allocations. Held your governor accountable. I'm very sure, Gandollar has commissioned more projects than your governor. |

Coldie: Theres no difference between Biafra and lesotho.
If I start listing out the disadvantage of Biafra it might exhaust me.
But just observe that Biafra and Lesotho are small countries similar in size trapped inside a bigger and richer country.
Do u know that Lesotho is so poor that its armed personnel as a whole is not up to 4000.
The country is so fvcked to the extent that they have been pushing for south Africa to annex them as one of its states or regions. Because to them they see no reason being a country
Must we wait till we fall victim to the same mistake that's irreversible before we get wise? But the truth is, If biafra exit. The the whole country will dissolve. Everyone will go to his or her way. But, if biafra prefer to be like Lesotho, then I can say it's not advisable cos the disadvantages are more than the advantages. The grass is not greener at the other side. |

Podakejol: Yes Ibadan is larger. Check Oyo State website for more info
Ibadan is very large and that’s why some indigenes don’t know everywhere in Ibadan. It's actually safe to say most indigenes don't know everywhere. At Least 70% of them. Those that know almost everywhere are the taxi drivers, the bus drivers. |

Coldie: The business is not the issue, Biafra is not viable.
Its going to end up like another poor African country.
Imagine leaving the giant of Africa, that single handedly ended the sierra Leone wars, and Liberian civil war, when the western countries looked away, so u can become another poor African country. Just because u want to carry a different international passport.
And the passport will be worst than the Nigerian passport I bet u, except my people over night change their ways I'm not getting you clearly. Explain why biafra is not viable?? |

Coldie: Finally I get a worthy oponenet to discuss this, since you claim to be educated...
All these knowledge and skills, since they exist now, what's stopping these people from utilizing it to develop the east?
Economic and social demands that will need satisfaction, like food, shelter, and clothes, amongst all these things I dont think the east is a producer of any... We are a marginal producer of food, therefore we would be heavily reliant on import diminishing our foreign reserve, shelter we only have one limestone deposit at ithink Enugu, what's stopping our leaders from utilizing it? Most of the textiles used to produce the clothes are sourced from North.
We are at a disadvantage here, this disadvantage will become very visible after the break up.
That apart the east is not known to really produce we are more of an entrepot for the rest of Nigeria I've added you to one of the reasonable Igbo guys on Nairaland. Unlike tbag hammerp. Well, I think all governors are exploring their mineral resources In their respective states. A quick check on Nigeria Stock Exchange, you'll see the minerals. Then I've been to Sokoto b4, there land is not that fertile but the way, mineral resources is been extracted there is massive, apart from their Hot Sun. Same to Jos. Yeah, you guys import alot which you'll need large market to trade. Well, majority of my Igbo friends don't subscribe to biafra, cos of what they stand to lose (Their business) |

bigfrancis21: Nope, Igbo slaves were sent to Brazil, Cuba and Latin America in substantial numbers as well, especially during the start and middle of the slave trade. Yoruba slaves arrived en masse towards the end of the slave trade, which coincided with the Oyo-Dahomey wars where Yoruba slaves were mostly spoils of war. This is hard to believe but in terms of overall number of exports, more Igbo slaves (1.4m) were exported vs Yoruba slaves (about 500,000). Igboland was heavily populated and had the population to sustain the ongoing slave trade demand for centuries vs Yorubaland. Look at the pictures of slave numbers attached below. From the start to the middle of the slave trade, Yorubas were mostly sold in a few thousands until the early to mid 1800s where they dominated the slave trade scene as late entrants and, thus, one of the few tribes to leave the most recent and obvious african culture behind in the new world.
I'm sure your next question would be, why then did Yoruba culture survive more than the Igbo? Ask me that and I would respond to you. Okay, understood, explain the bolded. |

hammerP: THANK YOU FOR THIS WORD OF WISDOM.
THIS IS WHERE BIAFRA ENTERS THE DISCUSSSION.
WE ARE UNABLE TO STRUCTURE AND CARE FOR OUR POPULATION IN A COUNTRY LIKE NIGERIA, WITH TRIBALISM AND MARGINALISATION.
THEY TAKE OUR RESOURCES AND SHARE IT TO THE WHOLE COUNTRY BUT NEVER SHARE THE PROCEEDS OF THEIR OWN RESOURCES WITH US.
THEY ARE MINING GOLD IN THE NORTH AND KEEPING THE MONEY IN THEIR POCKET.
WE BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE TAKE THE RESOURCES ON THEIR LAND AND PLAN THEIR FUTURE.
THE RESOURCES IN BAYELSA BELONG TO THE PEOPLE OF BAYELSA. Guy go and sleep Abeq. Who invited you here in the first place You just keep ranting. Capital letters, annoying |
