PoliticsPresidency Accuses Peter Obi Of Endorsing Foreign Invasion Of Nigeria by Segunbabba(op): 10:53pm On Nov 30, 2025
The Presidency has accused Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi of supporting foreign intervention in Nigeria, warning that such a stance “will never be forgiven.”

The allegation was made by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, following a video in which Obi said that, if elected president, he would welcome assistance from the United States to combat terrorism.

In the video, Obi stated that the debate should focus on insecurity rather than claims of Christian genocide. “Somebody offered you something you have been looking for. It is not time to start debating. Today, if you declare me president, my priority will be security of life and property,” he said. “My second priority is to pull people out of poverty, because the more people are lifted out of poverty, the more criminality is reduced.”

Onanuga reacted sharply, tweeting: “We shall never forget and forgive Peter Obi for supporting a foreign invasion of Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, the United States has expressed readiness to deepen security cooperation with Nigeria after a high-level Nigerian delegation, led by National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, engaged US officials in Washington, D.C. The delegation met with representatives from the US Congress, White House Faith Office, State Department, National Security Council, and Department of Defense.

During the discussions, Nigerian officials refuted claims of genocide, stressing that violent attacks affect all religious and ethnic communities, and mischaracterising the situation could undermine national cohesion and hinder counterterrorism efforts.

The US affirmed its willingness to expand support, including enhanced intelligence sharing, faster processing of defence equipment requests, and provision of excess US defence articles when available. Washington also pledged humanitarian assistance to conflict-affected communities in Nigeria’s Middle Belt and technical support to strengthen early-warning systems for preventing attacks.

To ensure coordinated action, both countries agreed to establish a Joint Working Group and implement a non-binding cooperation framework immediately.

The Nigerian delegation, which included Attorney General Prince Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Defence Intelligence Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Parker Undiandeye, NSA Special Adviser Idayat Hassan, and Ambassador Ibrahim Babani, reaffirmed commitment to civilian protection and adherence to international humanitarian standards.

The Presidency assured Nigerians that urgent steps are being taken to safeguard lives, strengthen security, and stabilise affected regions amid ongoing threats.

PoliticsPeter Obi Remains Labour Party Member – Baba-Ahmed by Segunbabba(op): 10:43pm On Nov 30, 2025
The 2023 Labour Party Vice-Presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, says former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, has not left the party.

Baba-Ahmed made this declaration while addressing journalists after the party’s National Executive Council meeting in Abuja, which was observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Baba-Ahmed dismissed reports suggesting that Obi had dumped the Labour Party.

To the best of our knowledge, our brother, His Excellency Peter Obi, is still a member of the Labour Party. Nothing has changed. If he were here now, I would have shifted my seat to the left for him, he said.

According to him, the party had survived its internal troubles, adding that the development signalled better days ahead. He also described INEC’s attendance at the meeting as a major boost.

The Labour Party has not reduced in any way. We have only increased in numbers. But with the submission of our leader, the National Secretary, we have gone through rough times, as is usual with political associations, and have emerged from it.

“The highlight and major turning point of this NEC meeting is the presence of INEC, which validates this sitting and justifies our presence here. As law-abiding citizens, we strictly go by what the law provides.

This is a renewed drive for reconciliation, and I am here as a loyal party member to continue to open our arms to embrace new and existing members, to come back and reconcile with the party for the national assignment ahead of us, he stated.

Breaking news:

Abia State youths have reportedly captured over 30 armed Fulani Jihadists inside a forest in Abia. The attackers were found with AK-47 rifles, explosives, and heavy bomb materials.

Shockingly, the Abia youths with no guns, no sophisticated weapons chased them down, overpowered them, and seized all their weapons.

According to eyewitnesses, the moment the youths mobilized, the attackers panicked.

One of the youths said, We don’t need guns to defend our land. Our spirit and unity are stronger than their bullets.

Another youth added, Anybody who enters Abia forest to terrorize us will meet what these ones met. We are not afraid. This is our land.

PoliticsNnamdi Kanu Appeals Life Imprisonment Ruling At The International Criminal Court by Segunbabba(op): 11:17pm On Nov 25, 2025
BREAKING NEWS: “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu appeals his so-called ‘life imprisonment’ ruling at the International Criminal Court, an institution where Nigeria has zero judicial authority.

According to emerging reports, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has rejected the controversial judgment delivered by the Nigerian court and has instead taken his appeal to the International Criminal Court (ICC), insisting that no Nigerian judge has been able to show him the law he supposedly violated.

In his words:
If there is a law I broke, show it to me. No man can be jailed without a written law. Nigeria cannot create a law in secret and call it justice.

Freedom-rights observers say this move is a powerful challenge to a judicial system they describe as “weaponized, inconsistent, and allergic to transparency.

Another source close to the legal team stated:
This is not just an appeal, this is a global call to expose a broken system. The world must now decide whether justice still exists or whether impunity has become a governing tool in Nigeria.

PoliticsThe Road To Sokoto Is Part Of The Journey To BIAFRA - Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by Segunbabba(op): 11:34pm On Nov 24, 2025
“THE ROAD TO SOKOTO IS PART OF THE JOURNEY TO BIAFRA” — Mazi Nnamdi Kanu 2018 Broadcast

In November 2018, during one of his most powerful Radio Biafra broadcasts from exile, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu made a statement that many people overlooked at the time.

He warned that the Nigerian state would go to any length — including sending him to the far Northern region, even Sokoto in an attempt to break his spirit and derail the Biafra restoration movement.

He said clearly:
That the struggle for Biafra would take him through places the Nigerian system believes no man can survive.
That the enemies of Biafra would try to isolate him, believing distance or harsh conditions could silence him.
That Sokoto, a seat of old power and a symbol of Nigerian political authority, would one day become part of the story of his persecution. That those who think the journey would weaken him do not understand destiny.

In that 2018 message, he explained that the path to freedom is never straight:
If they like, let them take me to the edge of the Sahara. Let them carry me to Sokoto. Everywhere they push me will only announce Biafra louder. Today, that prophecy has replayed itself. What many thought was a symbolic statement has now become physical reality.

MNK always said that everything happening to him is not about him as a person — it is about Biafra, about exposing the system, about fulfilling what he already knew was coming.
Why Sokoto Matters in the Prophecy For MNK, Sokoto represented: The top of the northern power structure, A place they believe Biafran voices cannot reach. A location used historically to “bury” political prisoners, But he turned it around and said, “Wherever they take me to, Biafra will go there with me, And the world will bear witness.

And now, that witness is happening live. Biafrans Worldwide: What This Means, This moment confirms something MNK has always stood on: The struggle is guided, Nothing happening today is by chance, Every move of the system was already revealed years ago And most importantly: Biafra cannot be stopped by relocation, imprisonment, or intimidation. This is not just history repeating; it is prophecy unfolding.

PoliticsNnamdi Kanu To Be Relocated Back To Abuja by Segunbabba(op): 8:15pm On Nov 23, 2025
Dr. Maxwell Opara, one of the lawyers representing the convicted leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, visited him on Sunday at the Sokoto Correctional Centre, accompanied by four other associates. Despite the heavy security presence around the correctional facility, residents of the surrounding community continued their daily activities.

Shops remained open, transportation continued as usual, and many locals seemed largely unconcerned by Kanu’s presence. Speaking after the visit, Opara confirmed that Kanu remained in high spirits despite his circumstances.

He disclosed that efforts were underway to secure Kanu’s return to Abuja, where he is expected to file his appeal. As I speak to you, he is preparing his appeal personally. We are exploring ways to bring him back to Abuja so he can file it, because time is running.

We just met with him, and although he is in good spirits, the urgency of filing the appeal cannot be overstated.”
Opara questioned the rationale behind Kanu’s transfer to Sokoto, arguing that it complicates the appeal process.

On what basis was he brought to Sokoto? I don’t understand the reason. His appeal is in Abuja,” he said. The judgment was delivered on Thursday, and now Friday, Saturday, and Sunday have passed with no progress. This is very unfortunate.”

Daily Trust had reported how a Federal High Court in Abuja, on Thursday, sentenced Kanu to life imprisonment for terrorism and ordered his remand in protective custody.

While delivering the judgement, Justice James Omotosho had said the secret police could move Kanu to any correctional facility within the country. The Department of State Services (DSS) later moved the IPOB leader to the Nigerian Custodial Centre in Sokoto.

PoliticsPresidency Fires Peter Obi For Kicking Against Court Judgment Of Nnamdi Kanu by Segunbabba(op): 11:34am On Nov 23, 2025
The presidency has knocked Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former governor of Anambra state, over his condemnation of the judgment handed down to the estranged leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Kanu was handed multiple sentences, including a life sentence, on Thursday, November 20, over the terror activities of the proscribed group in the southeast region by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Reacting to the judgment, Obi described the ruling as "unfortunate", saying that the arrest, detention and conviction of Kanu were a failure of leadership in the country. He added that the government did not understand the issue at hand. Speaking on Obi's criticism of the constitutional court, Olusegun Dada, a special assistant to President Bola Tinubu on social media, described Obi's claim as "a calculated attempt to politicise a national security issue.

The presidential aide accused the former governor of turning the conviction of Kanu into another political posturing. He recalled that Obi has not "openly condemned the killings, beheadings, arson, kidnappings, and terror carried out by IPOB and ESN." He noted how Obi has been "carefully silent" about the deadly activities of IPOB and kept mute on the "innocent people were murdered" in the southeast. His statement reads: "You had no comment when sit-at-home orders crippled economic life and cost lives.

You consistently avoided the topic until now, when the judgment offers you a chance to score political points. Even in this long statement, you still refused to mention a single victim of IPOB’s violence. Not one. Instead, you paint Kanu as the aggrieved party, while erasing the pain of those whose lives his rhetoric helped destroy."

Bola Tinubu Did Not Win 2023 Presidential Election, INEC and Mahmood Yakubu Criminally Sold it to Him — Dele Farotimi

According to Farotimi, Tinubu did not win the 2023 election because Nigerians did not vote for him. He also asserted that the judiciary, INEC and Tinubu himself know that he did not win the election.

His words, “I’m thankful for the opportunity to explain it so that the id!ots who have continued to assume that I have broken my word will be clear.

“I said, if he won the presidency, I will leave Nigeria on exile, so let me clear that up. “For him to have won, the people would have had to vote for him; we didn’t vote for him. He stole the presidency.

“Yakubu and INEC sold him the presidency. The presidency is not an expression of the people’s will. It is an expression of the debunking of INEC and the height of our judicial corruption.

“He did not win the presidency. If I had left, I would have been sanitising and deodorising his konk. “If nothing else, I rise and fall by my words, and when I said that I will leave on exile if this man won, it was so that people would know that I do not believe Nigerians would be depraved enough to be possessed of the idiocy to vote somebody that came into power and they did not.

“Anybody who wants to delude themselves can continue to delude themselves, but Tinubu knows, INEC knows, the judiciary knows, and so do a lot of Nigerians that Tinubu did not win the presidency. He stole it.”

PoliticsWhile Many Were Asleep, A Disturbing News Broke, And It Is About Nnamdi Kanu by Segunbabba(op): 9:09am On Oct 25, 2025
According to a credible information from the IPOB leadership, a new DSS officer recently assigned to monitor Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in his detention facility launched a violent attack on the IPOB leader in custody, kicking and hitting him in what appeared to be a desperate assassination attempt.
The situation nearly turned tragic, but other DSS personnels swiftly intervened and restrained their colleague before greater harm was done.

This shocking development confirms growing fears that the Nigerian government is plotting to assassinate Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at all cost while still in DSS custody. This is after the Nigerian military’s failed assassination attempt on Nnamdi Kanu during the deadly 2017 invasion of his residence in Afaraukwu Ibeku, Abia State.

PoliticsMy Witnesses Are Coming From Ethiopia, Kenya, Others - Nnamdi Kanu by Segunbabba(op): 10:59pm On Oct 24, 2025
Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), says his witnesses will be coming from all parts of the world, including Ethiopia, Kenya and the United States (U.S.).

Kanu, who opted to defend himself in the ongoing alleged terrorism trial preferred against him by the Federal Government, told Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court on Friday in Abuja.

Kanu, in the application he personally signed, informed the court of his plan to call a total of 23 witnesses divided into two categories.

The first category, he said, would be those he called “ordinary but material witnesses”.

He further informed the court that his second category of witnesses would be “vital and compellable” and shall be “summoned under Section 232 of the Evidence Act, 2011.”

He prayed the court that, in view of the number of witnesses he intended to call, the court should consider granting a 90-day timeframe to enable him to conclude his defence.

The leader of the IPOB, however, disengaged his legal team led by Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice on Thursday.

He told the court he was ready to defend himself.

When the case was called on Friday, Chief Adegboyega Awomolo, SAN, represented the FG, and Kanu, who spoke from the dock, announced his appearance for himself.

“I am Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. I stand for myself,” he said.

“My lord, my counsel left the case yesterday, and I have not received the file from them.

“The few people that would have brought this were precluded from seeing me,” he said.

The IPOB leader then urged the court to adjourn the matter to enable him to do the needful.

“The few people that would have brought this were precluded from seeing me,” he said.

The IPOB leader then urged the court to adjourn the matter to enable him to do the needful.

When Justice Omotosho asked him what the visiting days and times were, he said, “Two hours every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.”

According to Kanu, that is not enough because I have about 23 witnesses that will be coming all parts of the world, from Ethiopia, Kenya, and thecoming from U.S.

“I will want the court to make an order so that these people can have access to me,” he said.

When the judge asked him if these people were part of the witnesses he listed in the motion he filed, he said, “They are part of the witnesses listed, my lord.”

Responding, Adegboyega said Kanu had had all the time to defend himself since his no-case submission application failed.

Besides, the senior lawyer said the court bailiff had been trying to serve the subpoenaed witnesses Kanu listed in his application the summons to appear in court.

PoliticsOhanaeze Extends Free Nnamdi Kanu Protest To October 25 by Segunbabba(op): 10:57pm On Oct 20, 2025
The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), the apex socio-cultural body of Igbo youths worldwide, has announced an extension of the ongoing #FreeNnamdiKanu protest to Saturday, October 25, 2025, under the theme “Operation Occupy Abuja.

In a press statement issued on Monday and signed by its National President, Igboayaka Igboayaka, and the Secretary-General, Comrade Ifeanyichukwu Nweke, the OYC described the protest led by human rights activist Omoyele Sowore as “a turning point between political oppressors led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian people.”

The statement followed what the group called “a comprehensive assessment” of the October 20 protest, during which the Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, in joint forces with the military, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security forces, committed serious human rights violations against peaceful demonstrators.

“The use of tear gas, gunshots, beating, harassment against peaceful protesters, which resulted in the illegal arrest of Prince Emmanuel Kanu, brother to Nnamdi Kanu, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, legal counsel and Bar. Mandela Umez has exposed Nigeria and put it in the spotlight as a country that violates the fundamental human rights under the tyrannical and barbaric administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the statement said.

The group demanded the immediate release of those arrested within 24 hours, warning that continued suppression of civil rights would further deepen national discontent.

“The Inspector General of Police, Kayode, should direct the immediate release of Prince Emma Kanu, Bar. Aloy Ejimakor, Bar. Mandela Umez, and others within 24 hours,” the group demanded.

Citing what it called the Nigerian government’s “non-compliance with and disregard for fundamental human rights,” OYC said the decision to extend the protest and lockdown was necessary to compel the government to accede to the people’s demands.

“That non-compliance with, respect for, and protection of human fundamental rights by the Nigerian federal government under Bola Tinubu's administration has resulted in the extension of the national lockdown from 20th to Saturday, 26th Oct 2025.

“The notion that absolute power is vested in the people has been undermined by the long-standing docility of Nigerians, allowing a small minority of political oppressors to hold sway over the majority, covering over 95% of the Nigerian populace, must come to an abrupt end,” the group declared.

OYC asked President Tinubu to take immediate steps to grant the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The group described Kanu’s continued detention as an “injustice that symbolizes the wider failures of Nigeria’s justice system.

The group also warned of possible instability if protesters’ rights were further violated.

According to OYC, “Due to the prevailing national emergency, President Bola Tinubu must instruct all Nigerian security chiefs to safeguard the fundamental human rights of the Release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu protesters, ensuring that Nigeria does not descend into chaos, as witnessed in Nepal and Madagascar.”

The group called on the Nigerian government to use the current crisis as an opportunity to address the country’s deep-rooted challenges, including insecurity, hunger, and multiple taxation, and to promote national reconciliation and healing.

The group said, “It is our recommendation that President Bola Tinubu's administration capitalize on the present opportunity to tackle Nigeria's problems, insecurity, hunger, multiple taxation, and work towards national reconciliation, healing by addressing the protesters and releasing Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Nigerians must rise now, recognizing that the injustice against Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), reflects the broader injustices affecting Nigeria in various ways, and if left unchecked, will become a pervasive issue within Nigeria's justice system.

The shooting of armless and innocent protesters by the Nigeria Police Force under Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, is a deliberate provocation, making the protest a Turning point between political Oppressors and Nigerians.

PoliticsThere Was No Need For Nnamdi Kanu’s Arrest In The First Place - Peter Obi by Segunbabba(op): 11:38pm On Oct 18, 2025
Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party has again condemned the arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu by the Federal Government.

Obi warned that while detention would not solve the agitations by separatists like Kanu, who feel marginalised, it is important for the Federal Government to initiate dialogues with the parties and key individuals involved.

This call by Obi comes on the heels of a planned nationwide protest demanding the release of the IPOB leader. The protest, tagged #FreeNnamdiKanuNow is organised by Omoyele Sowore, a publisher and activist, and has been scheduled to take place on October 20, 2025.

On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, the Federal Government announced that its operatives in collaboration with INTERPOL arrested the IPOB leader in Kenya over allegations of terrorism and treasonable felony.

However, responding to questions from journalists while visiting the LEA Primary School, Kapwa, Abuja on Wednesday, October 15, Obi said he stands on advice on the need for dialogue on the matter.

He said, “I’ve always been consistent on Nnamdi Kanu’s situation. There was no need for his arrest in the first place, and I’ve always said that for me, I will consult, negotiate, and discuss with anybody who is agitating. I said it clearly and I remain there.

Also, urging the judiciary to ensure the rules of law are duly followed for all agitators facing the same ordeal, the former governor of Anambra State commended Sowore and his team for pushing for Kanu’s release.

“There’s nothing wrong with anybody agitating or saying let’s have a dialogue with them. And whatever we do with them, let’s follow the rules. So, I thank the organisers and those who are involved,”Obi added.
