On 2 occasions we killed snakes ad their shed skin was still there. Found them first before evn finding the snakes themselves on both occasions at their hole (makeshift home).

Snake don't return where they shed skin. The ones you see are actually different ones maybe others that migrated to that location with it, it can never be the same one.
