Can we please transfer the Iran War discussions to this thread below?

People of Nairaland, please post your comments about the Iran War here:
https://www.nairaland.com/8636131/iran-war-us-israel-megathread

uncleinans:
This will not work. Why jampack different topic into one thread? This suggestion or whatever its called doesn't make sense.

Different topic, headlines should be discussed diffently in different thread and not everything here.

You can still create new threads on the Iran war. I created this thread for the people posting Iran War content on the Russia Ukraine War thread.

Please send Iran War discussions here:

This thread is dedicated to tracking the ongoing military conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which began on February 28, 2026. Please use this space to share the latest news updates, verified reports, and geopolitical analysis.

Key Developments (as of March 15, 2026):

Outbreak and Leadership: The war started with joint US and Israeli strikes on Iran, one of which killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He has since been succeeded by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei.

Military Escalation: The US and Israel have executed thousands of strikes across Iran, recently targeting military and air defense installations on Kharg Island, Iran's main oil export hub. Iran and its allied proxy groups in Lebanon and Iraq have launched waves of retaliatory ballistic missiles and drones at Israel and US bases throughout the region.

Regional Impact & Nigerian Casualties: Gulf states hosting US bases are caught in the crossfire. The UAE Ministry of Defence reported that 141 foreign nationals, including Nigerians residing in the UAE, have been injured by debris and Iranian strikes. Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have also had to intercept dozens of projectiles.

Global Economy: Iran has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz to hostile nations. Over 500 oil tankers are currently trapped in the Persian Gulf, causing global oil and gas prices to spike sharply.

Casualties: More than 1,400 people have been killed in Iran, with thousands of residential buildings damaged. Israel and Lebanon have both sustained significant casualties and infrastructure damage. The US military has reported 13 service member fatalities, including six who died in a KC-135 plane crash in Iraq.

Diplomacy: US President Donald Trump has publicly rejected reaching a ceasefire deal, stating the terms are not yet good enough, and has urged allied nations to send warships to secure the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials have denied asking for negotiations.

Note: You can still create new threads on the Iran war. I created this thread for the people posting Iran War content on the Russia Ukraine War thread.

I'm sorry, I didn't read the contents of the first post properly before splitting it.

Someone should pls create a new thread or I will.

the antispam bot banned budaatum for https://www.nairaland.com/8632965/nigeria-overtakes-india-highest-number/5#138736654. Ban expires at Today at.

The bot feels that your post contains clear personal insults such as:
“you don’t sound that lucky”
“wouldn’t you be better off using the brain you do have”

We have improved Nairaland's smileys.

We made them neater and smoother and a little bit bigger while preserving the style and animations you're used to.

Please see the attached images to observe the difference.

We make small changes like this from time to time.

I miss the eyeroll smiley. Do you?

AI cleanup of the throwback image in the original post.

Hmm. Why do we care about this, though?

👀 I love the excitement in this thread. Arsenal FTW.

Gerrard59:
I agree with you, but specifically APC data boys have hacked the mass liking to allocate an innumerable number of likes within short period to their posts. Sometimes, these posts are one line sentences and boom, 100+ likes.

So it defeats the suggestion of other Nairalanders that the more likes a post generates, the higher it should be in a thread. Implement that and all the first page posts would be that of APC's.

Link me to the worst case and I'll look for the handles that like these posts and deactivate them if they seem to be suspicious.

The #1 complaint is that the bot we built to handle toxicity makes too many false positive mistakes.

Please you need to place your ads on a board.

Mattswaggz:
That your "auto ban bot" or what is it self that bans for no reason should be either re programmed or removed......a lot of people get banned for making harmless comments here and that makes it discouraging for them to keep on using Nairaland.... that's one of the problems.

Thanks. There are technical challenges that we will need to overcome. What are some measures that we can take to ease this challenge for you?
NOTE: We have started taking action on this issue by installing better debugging so we can get into the reason for the bot's mistakes.

Hello Nairalanders,

I'm Seun, the founder of Nairaland. Talk to me about what Nairaland is like for you. What's good and what's not so good right now.

I've been more focused on the backend and working on new features. It seems as if the moderation and other issues have fallen behind.

So, talk to me. What should we focus on in order to encourage you to start being more active on Nairaland?

PS: I have people dropping me messages presuming that Nairaland is over. What's that about?

Please share some examples. I really mean it. I banned the guy who slandered us instead.

Please share some examples.

Seun you need to vibe code an improvement of nairaland. Its too basic and needs to be far better UI wise.

What UI feature are you looking forward to?

In every godly marriage the couple MUST rightly prioritize each other above all else. This could be well appreciated, if couples understand the concept of marriage by God for LEAVING & CLEAVING. And whatever state you and your spouse are, you can be BETTER at this.

Join us this Sunday in an online MARRIAGE SEMINAR where we will discuss this more.

Seun please do something about the dark mode. It’s really not going well with our eyes

Fixed. It looks normal now. I initiated the process of moving to a semantic layout system and html5.

UncleSnr:
when are you upgrading the search experience for nairaland?

Please describe what you are looking forward to in as much detail as you can. I've tried a popular library but I didn't like the results at all.

Bump. hope you get what you're looking for.

Yesterday, for hours, Claude and Codex struggled with a simple task on Swift/MacOS: selecting the contents of a text field when it was clicked. 5.3 found the solution after I instructed it to create and capture UI action logs. Then I made it document the solution for the future.

SixSeven:
Nlfpmod pushed this topic to the front page then asks us who the name of the politician is, after using the term GOVERNOR in the title of the thread. This is silly and irresponsible. Seun take note of your moderators.

I am three pages into this thread but no one can name the Governor but you first carry gossip and bad publicity to the front page. If they close Nairaland, you will claim victimhood but you don't consider what you are doing that causes trouble.

Why do you want to do damage then clean up instead of taking your time to vet what you push to the public? You can definitely do better but this is gross irresponsibility.

@nlfpmod @lalasticlala please respond
