Most Zimbabweans are blacks, whites left the country during Mugabe's nepotism. Do you think everyone on Nairaland is a Nigerian? It is because Nairalanders can be quite toxic that's why we have fewer people from outside the shores of this country, which shouldn't be. One South African, Xhosaxostra (I don't know if I spelled that username correctly) had to leave because Nairalander, I am afraid, drove her away and many like her. It happens. It is not unthinkable to assume that people of other nationalities are here, but yes, there are very few and far between.

There are still many whites in Zimbabwe, they live in secured environment and gated communities, 99.9% of users of Nairaland are Nigerians.

we could go on and argue all day, i did my own investigation on the man and got the necessary information.

That so called Zimbabwean is a Nigerian living in Nigeria, those stories of being a Zimbabwe living in south africa are just cover up stories

every information about him traces to a Nigerian called Gbenga Akinwole from Oyo state, ibadan precisely, he can continue to fool people that he is a Zimbabwean , smart people know that he is a Nigerian living in Nigeria.

Zimbabweans are blacks and even if the pics is indeed Ubunja's, how does it debunk anything?

there are white Zimbabwean and black Zimbabwean, he claim to be a white guy, who is he deceiving?

he just a Nigerian blogger from oyo state looking for affiliate marketing traffic

he is not an alpha male, he is a broke ass, does he look like he can attract a worm

If people tell you who they are, believe them.

anybody can get a foreign number from Nigeria, you can buy it online

do not believe anything that man says

This is the man you are speaking to claiming Zimbabwean

Think about this how will a Zimbabwean man be so concern about Nigeria

the picture below is ubunja

that man is typing from Nigeria

does he look like an alpha male or a man getting girls

he is just a blogger looking for traffic for affiliate marketing

american citizen selling mobile oil to Nigerian Uber drivers on nairaland, this man is in one of those mechanic shops in lagos doing his business and using nairaland as a means to advertise his goods

pls, he is so misinformed about how systems works in the US, i have never seen a Nigerian-american as misinformed as that guy.

i have come to realise that most Nigerian men have low self esteem could this be because of poverty, when a lady counter them and show them their ignorance, they start blabbing and calling you names and wont counter agreement like a civil person

this is a faceless forum, you can go under a moniker and abuse as you like, call me names but in reality, many of your types, wont hesitate to call me MA or answer with Yes ma when you know your salary is at stake.

I see all these type of men everyday, they beat their chest daily on the street, act rude to you but act very humble in the office especially when they understand that their means of livelihood is in my hand.

The era of charging 6-8k ( with begging) from ikeja ( ogba) to lekki is over.

In BTW.
Most of you folks @ d VIS HV Neva improved on ur system. Same old ways of waylaying cars in traffic gridlock.

n you boast of running an electronic system.

yellow cab have been competing with private taxi companies in lagos before uber and others came, uber isnt a competition to yellow cab, uber wants to destroy yellow cabs that is why they dont want to do as others do, they want to take over public transportation and be a monopoly that is their plan

A critical analysis of your perspective of argument shows u have a bitter feeling for ehailing. I wonder why u sound so pained each time u type words in form of commenting on this thread.

Those Lastma/VIO guys are they holy and perfect, Most them are corrupt and only out there to make money for their pocket, who bears the brunt if I may ask...

Most time what they do is harrass the populace, before you say jack, they will ask you to pay so so amount, who empower them to charge you, what happen to ticketing system.

i was expecting something reasonable not the argument of having bitter feeling for ehailing

simple rules, companies are expected the laws and regulation guiding business in their country of residence, companies are not to deceive govt so that they can have advantage over others

Madam. All you have done here is to put VIO officials on the road at risk. How many LASTMA officials gets killed on duty every year on lagos roads ? Now, you want same to be the fate of VIO officers too. May your souls rest in peace. Examples will be set. Be assured.

Lastma and vio officials get killed while doing their job because many Lagos drivers are heartless, have mental disorder, i will say this confidently, no right and normal human will kill another fellow human just because he is doing his/her duties.

Many Lagosians are traffic law breakers, they know the fine they will pay when caught, because of their inability to obey rules, when caught, they do every thing possible to escape even if they have to kill another human.

We blame govt for all ills of our society but many ills in our society are all done by private individuals. funny how this set of people love to criticize govt but break eveery simple rules that can make society run peacefully.

Well in my own state you don't need any form of permit to be an uber driver.. So each state might be different and am sure only a handful of state requires any form of permit to be an uber driver..
Back to the naija issue .. If Lagos has an issue with uber, they should take it with uber directly and not use gorilla style tactics. Since you are comparing New York form of operations to Lagos , meaning that in New York you need special permit.. Now if uber does not comply to the New York State laws, does that mean that New York road safety board will starting asking police officers to clamp down on drivers and ask if they do uber or have permit to operate uber ....ask yourself that.... Is that possible.. Imaging New York finest chasing down uber drivers and asking for their permit on 5th avenue... lol...
Still Lagos is operating like a Banana Republic ,if any issues at all with uber, they need to take it up with uber directly via court or proper channels.. Anything short of that is a extortion and shake down

which state do you live in? lets know, almost all info are on the net

Uber operates in a very regulated market in the US, in states where uber do not have a license to operate they are banned, as for drivers, they are expected to comply with states law and regulations and must get necessary permits to operate.

In new york city, police can clamp down on uber drivers who do not have the necessary permit to operate

My question to you

can you drive in most Us cities as a private or commercial drivers without the necessary document, woudnt you be arrested as an individual for breaking the law, the same way the lagos state traffic officials are clamping down on drivers who do not have the right documentation, is the same the NYPD will clamp down on drivers who also do not the right papers

I find your answer funny too, I've been driving for more than a year, I drive pass 2 VIO's station everyday, yet I've not been impounded or seen any driver go thro such... Its either you don't know what you r saying or the vio officers you recruited do not know dia duties. You have failed to answer why ask hackney permit from a blue plate number, but keep saying b ready to change to red, please will heaven fall if a plate number is change to red or the car will consume more fuel? Cos I can't comprehend your logics.

next time, when you pass the vio station, you can ask them the question

why ask hackney permit from a blue plate number

You are so misinformed.. Uber drivers in the USA do not need a special lincense or hackey permit to drive o .. You are missed informed.. It seems to me either an driver do u wrong or uber blocked you either as a customer or driver .. And you are bend by all means to take revenge.

you are the misinformed one

who said uber drivers in the US need hackney permit, different states in the US have different laws that uber follows, in california for instance, there is the AB 5 that requires uber and others to treat drivers as employees

Now back to your misinformation and ignorance, in New york city, uber drivers get special license from the TLC (New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission) to drive with Uber.

pls check this info before you start spreading false news

Young lady again, am sorry to say that you are a reflection of the Banana Republic of Lagos...I don't mean it as an insult.. Try to objective with me .. To start with it is not fully effective they way Lagos State is going about it . Using Vio to clamp down on Uber drivers will not bring in the revenue that Lagos government wants to extort.. Most of the fines that Vio are collecting will end up in their own pockets.. These VIO's are hungry and will just collect bribe from drivers instead of giving it to the state.
That been said, uber didnt just enter naija open shop and started their operations . They had to make some sort of agreement before starting their operation.. So the same government that gave them the green light to operate, should be able to revoke them directly without sorting to blackmail via harassing drivers up and down . Dont u think that Lagos government should just give court order and close down uber office until the issue is resolve? And why now , things should have been put in place before uber started operating their business in Lagos....
This is the reason why I think this whole issue is a hoax to begin with. And if it is not a hoax ,than we have a bunch of monkeys controlling the zoo called Lagos State..

My Point is again .. If their is an issue at all, Lagos government should close down uber company . Instead of running wild using VIO to enforce their meaningless law....

i am not a reflection of any banana republic. you and uber are the reflection of crony capitalism.

Lagos do not want to exhort any money from Uber, Lagos want uber to get a license to operate their business and also want drivers to get permit too, it is world wide practise.

in NYC city, Uber has a license to operate and uber drivers get special license from the TLC (Taxi and Limousine Commission) to drive with Uber.

So what is stopping Uber from getting the necessary permit, if the company came with good intentions to pay the right tax for taxi operators, they would have gotten a license.

Uber didnt have any agreement with any govt official, they came as a business who want to scale and make money in Lagos state just like gokada and the rest platform, they also came because they know the market is unregulated, they know it will give them the license to do as they like, in the developed world where uber is, can they behave like they seem fit without consequences, NO. because they know the market is regulated.

Another stuff is this, when a new business goes to an unregulated market to make money, they do as they like, as other players comes into the market, the government will start regulating the market, it happens all over the world, facebook came to an unregulated market but now you can see that the market is now being regulated, it is normal.

Broda/aunty what am I saying? you say a lot of shit that mirrors ur reflection, I keep repeating it, you can't answer a reasonable question thats way you keep sounding like a programmed robot... Future of Lagos! Future of Lagos!! Let me tell you a story, a man was coming from work(V.I) on Friday, got stuck in TBS, you need to see the crowd out dia, as he showed me the video, he manage to drag himself to surulere and look for hotel to pass the night, I don't want to imagine the cost of a room. Yesterday morning in requested for a ride going to omole phase 2, barely any route I didn't try, I have to drive around, all he want was just to get home since Friday, trip end at 5k, I felt for him, probably spending 17k after close hour, is that the future of Lagos? Or did I just write garbage as presumed by you? You need to get off your greed and stop seeing things from the horizon of your window.

Mr, i am not interested in your stories and their is a difference between the future of e-hailing in Lagos-state and the future of lagos state, know the difference.

If you can stand opposing ideas, you won't have answer reasonable questions being thrown at you. You really let me down with you last statement, I try no to insult any officer cos I have them as friends and family, but dis your one man mission reek of stupidity.

Tomorrow, do me a favour, stay on agege road and stop danfo drivers as much as u can, ask for dia particulars, let's see the outcome or go to dia park and tell them the need to have complete papers, let see if you'll come out alive. Do you know how many times traffic police stops car and at the sight of him/her knowing he/she is an Uber driver they wave go or ask for something, hardly you'll see an uber driver without complete particulars. Yet! You have the effrontery to say they don't want to do the right thing, you honestly didn't come with a peacful mind.

Do you think if uber block all drivers and add hackney permit as access to go online, drivers will not get one instantly?

no reasonable questions have been thrown at me except how do you know uber drivers? i find the question hilarious because it makes no sense

everyday, uber drivers cars are been impounded by different agencies in lagos state, so how did the respective agencies get these drivers and their cars?

Mr, nobody cares if Uber drivers have complete particulars or not, the main issue is uber deceit not to have a license to operate in the state. Uber has no intention of doing the right thing, even though they knoww the law, they keep selling stories instead of doing the right thing.

as i have written, we can argue from now till next year, the law is the law, before you can operate a taxis service, you must have permit and license to operate,

even in NYC city, Uber has a license to operate and uber drivers get special license from the TLC (Taxi and Limousine Commission) to drive with Uber.

as someone wrote that i am part of the banana republic, why is uber obeying the law in NYc but cant obey the law in lagos state

Lasly, when you get your hackney permit be ready to change your plate to red.
