As regards the selection process theirs is even better imagine the case you have been given offer / placement and after like 5 months down they tell you guys you are much and they wanna reduce so you go through another recruitment process again. #JUSTIMAGINE. my advice to my BEDC bro and sis is if u have a job already dont pull out yet just as for time off. From what I know their salary is far beyond what you quoted.

as regards the salary i cant really say much i was told between 60k to 90k. i don't believe that should be more than that. will ask for that.

Hi folks, we probably all know the HQ of this company is in Port Harcourt and that the career website is not going.

Also note the following that may help your preparation and interviews with them.

Notore Industries manufactures and sells fertilizers.
The company also provides rice and maize seeds. It serves customers in Africa. It was founded in 2005 and is based in Onne, Rivers, Nigeria.

The staff strength is huge and as of now I can't place a number on it.

Mr. Onajite P. Okoloko is the chief executive officer and managing director while Mr Ayo Balogun is the chief commercial officer. So note the following;

1) You would most likely be invited for the aptitude test in PH.
2) Their exams are very tough. Just maths and English.
3) The pay is not all that spectacular as you may expect but it's a very very lovely place to work and grow.
4) The interview could be a 6man panel interview like they did sometimes back.
5) Stay up to date with your CV when you go in for the interview and expect technical questions.
6) The recruitment process is around six months.
7) Generally, it's a clear process free of nepotism and lots to learn.

i suspect that o. Notore does not run that way and also they don't rush their recruitment. last time i checked they conducted aptitude test by themselves at naval base @ onne. application opened December and test February.

I can see from the forgoing that the issues of bond and what not has been a concern. Let me say from the first that I am qualified to write about this because I am one of the ealier batch of trainees to be recruited by BEDC, the 4th to be precise. Also, I am writing this as a concerned fellow graduate. I will dwell on that later.
You see the issues with BEDC are more than just the bond. In a nutshell, BEDC isn't where you should consider as having gotten a 'career'. By all means accept their terms if you haven't gotten a job before this one. If you are considering resigning from one, don't try it I plead with you. You may come to regret it as some are currently. And let me say that I actually resigned despite not having another job. :x

Now to my own story, a brief one. I joined BEDC sometime last year and was happy and hoping to have a good time. Trust me, one year down the line it felt like I was just going with the flow of the company and nothing was really improving in me except my bank account. I know you'd say that's all that matters in an economy like this one but that thinking is flawed for many reasons. One is that the world we live in today is a very fast-paced one and you have to always stay relevant to any industry you find yourself. This requires that as you are working for a company, you are in return improving yourself and your market value for future employers. If all a company is about is just for you to carry out assignments which do not even tally with whatever you studied in school or even remotely similar to any other one, then you need to rethink your allegiance because 3 years down the line, you would scarcely be able to put anything tangible on your CV as a relevant experience. I came to this realisation when after more than a year, I really cannot put anything tangible on my CV and to make matters worse, my final posting was even nothing to write home about (literally). It was then I decided to RESIGN.

Don't think for a moment that to resign is a walk in the park. I was just lucky to have them very busy with more pressing matters than a disgruntled graduate. I now know of a former close colleague who also wants to resign but is having a tough time trying to do that. And he hasn't gotten another one too.

The story is becoming too long for my liking so my advice:
1. Take up the offer if you haven't gotten anything going now and don't rest thinking you've finally landed a career job. Continue to strive to improve yourself and get the one you really deserve. I'll leave you to sort out your bond headache since it isn't mine.
2. Don't take up the offer if you currently have one and you're considering resigning from that one. Chances are that it's going to be just like where you are now or even worse. Don't think about the money, trust me, I have been there.

I haven't written this tirade to spite BEDC or try to be some kill-joy or nay sayer. I feel concerned seeing how some here are being naive knowing not what they are walking into, I feel it as the decent thing to do to offer my advice. We only have one life to live and deserve to make the best of it and avoid mistakes as much as we can. You are responsible for giving your life the good that it deserves.

Talking from experience now stocked with a disco too we were rushed to sign and we did but now........ just be careful guys most of this companies are playing on us cos we r looking for job. #just-my-advice.

Pay might be cut by 8.5% pension and tax things. But presently the power sector is bleeding. Also when you resume don't expect salary on till second month that is you get the first and second month at once. Talking from experience. LoooL

From my little experience with PHED too kindly read about ATC and C loss (aggregate technical and commercial loss) that's the main target of all the 11 Discos. For my physics guy read that too then look for points from that. Then know the various voltages from generation, transmission and distribution levels. Transformers, injection substations etc. Most especially ask for God's favour. In my own case I love Indians in interview maybe because am used to them. God help us all brothers and sisters.

For those of you expecting to be called for interview go and study more on general distribution network
1.Relays 2. Circuit breakers 3. Isolators 4.Transmission losses 5. How many discos are in Nigeria etc. The interview questions came from these areas.
And they were two 3man panels each with 1 technical guy and the other two to ask u behavioural questions .
One of the panel has an indian Engr asking the technical questions....Just pray u dont meet him if called b/c guys he interviewed where not smiling at all .I was just praying b4 it got to my name.....God I must not meet indian man. #copied from previous post on this thread, pg 4.
