FatherOfJesus:The Americans defeated the Taliban easily, so much so that those ones avoided the international troops as much as they could because those that didn’t just died like fowl. The US left because they were tired of the place and didn’t see any prospect of the place progressing, not because they lost any battles. What you should be worried about is where the Russians plan to colonise next. If you think life in Nigeria is bad now, just wait until Putin persuades some of the more brutal military leaders to take over and let his boys in. That’s when you’ll see something. |
So you rightly hate Western colonialism but you’re eagerly supporting the Russian variety, why? What is it that Russia has to offer anyone? Tinubu doesn’t want to invade Niger but only an idiot would want Wagner operating on the Northern border. It has nothing to do with the West, it’s not in Nigeria’s own national interests to have neighbouring countries turned into Russian puppets. Russia wants African resources, but unlike the Chinese or Westerners they don’t have anything worthwhile to offer in return, so they’re backing corrupt coup plotters who’ll give the Russians a share of their natural resources in exchange for help in staying in power. Meanwhile those nations’ citizens are getting even poorer and Putin’s cronies just dey chop Africa’s wealth anyhow. You can bet that they’re already negotiating with some Nigerian generals for how they can do the same thing to us. |
AbujaCitiBlog:Maybe you should tell the world’s police forces and the UN that they hate men and want a sex change Page 15 shows the statistics clearly Instead of you to face facts you just repeat the same childish nonsense because you don’t know how to talk about things like an adult Remain uninformed if you like but later when you wonder why your life is no good, remember that when you had a choice, you chose ignorance. |
AbujaCitiBlog:Over 95% of murders are committed by men and the proportion is even higher when talking about violence between partners or spouses. These statistics are easily found so a simple search for “violent crime statistics by gender” will reveal the truth. If you’re talking to adults you need to go by actual evidence not just your own ill-informed opinion. I don’t need to oppress or bully women to feel strong. Encountering strong educated and capable women doesn’t fill me with fear. I met my wife at university and her strength and intelligence gives me the confidence that if something happened to me she would be more than capable of doing what needs to be done. My strength is hers and her strength is mine so we have a successful partnership. I suggest you seek counselling to resolve your own issues with women. |
IGoComotYaTeeth:I would be shocked and horrified because: 1) he raised his sons to never ever raise their hands to a woman 2) he’s been dead for over ten years In fact, not only did my father not beat his wife, he was a Nigerian dad who didn’t beat his kids. His methods clearly worked because we all went on to uni and then postgrad. To be honest I think it’s just that a lot of our people are unhappy with their lives so they vent their frustrations on their wife or kids by beating them savagely and others do it because they are just plain sadistic. |
AbujaCitiBlog:For every woman that kills a man, more than 50 men kill a woman. So it’s stupid to pretend that it’s men who should be afraid of women. Weak men like you need to be beating women because you have no idea how to use your mind and reason. I am not an animal so I don’t put my hands on my wife or any other woman for that matter. If you want to live your life like a beast, attacking women because they “insulted you”, God will find the agency by which he punishes you. When it happens, don’t start feeling sorry for yourself because na your own wickedness brought home to you. |
Muyiwaipere:There is nothing she could say or do to justify his behaviour. Unless she attacks him physically, any man who puts his hands on a woman is worthless and I don’t care what his excuse is. There is no such thing as physically “correcting” a woman. Under Nigerian law that’s assault and no matter what excuse you make for yourself, it’s a crime. Abusers always find some way to try and say their vicious behaviour is someone else’s fault, but na lie, they just like hurting people that are weaker than themselves. Some men are so prone to violence against women, I’ve already made up my mind that the first time a man decides to beat a female relative of mine I’m using my shotgun and disposing of whatever’s left in the nearest overflowing gutter so he can marinate with the other filth. The men who beat women eventually end up maiming or killing them so it’s better I stop all that rubbish straight away. |
If you want an animal to handle rats, I’d suggest a dog instead of a cat. A lot of rats are too big and strong for most cats to manage without getting injured themselves. I’ve used small terriers to kill rats and they’re very good at it. They were bred to kill rats and other things like that so they don’t tolerate them on the property at all. Just have a look online if you search for “terriers ratting” and watch any of those videos you’ll see what I mean about how they deal with those pests. To be honest I’ve even trained local dogs (ekuke) to deal with rats, they seem to be very good at it. We all know how quickly rats spread in Nigeria but my dogs kept our compound clear of rats for as long as they were alive. Alternatively you need to search for all the holes rats are using to come in and out and seal them up with filler, cement, or any building material that will form a solid barrier and harden in place. The holes and gaps have to be totally covered because rats can come in through very small spaces. If you use metal mesh, you still need to use the filling material as well because rats can chew through the metal quite easily. In most Nigerian houses, the roof space is a real problem, so pay careful attention to that space. While you do that, also put traps and poison in the areas where you’ve seen rat activity. Please remember, no matter how often you tell a small child not to do something, they’ll still do it. So if there are kids in the house, don’t use the poison except up in the roof if you’re sure the kids can’t reach it there, and make sure to put the traps somewhere the kids can’t reach even if they try. I won’t lie, rat proofing a house is hard, which is why I bought the dogs. |
There's no doubt that Tinubu and Fashola have enriched themselves at public expense. The only thing is that Fashola may be actually trying to do his job well whilst enriching himself at our expense. Most Nigerian government officials don't even bother to do that. In a country that worked properly, Fashola would be in jail but our standards have sunk so low that a man who steals hundreds of millions is lavished with praise because he actually goes to work! How does the fact that the PDP is riddled with corruption excuse his behaviour? Would we acquit an armed robber because there are murderers walking free? |
maryjames9: Shut up joor. JOBLESS FOOL. Lawyer. @ op,you be jobless person. You no complain of how Jonathan looted 67billion dolars federal reserve and how police chief embezzed 32billion dolars police pension, you dey complain of a man eating amala and ewedu for hin office. What is unprofesional about it. You no get job and i suggest the man SUE YOUR ARSE FOR THIS. Stupid postYep, why shouldn't court papers have food stains on them? Op should just encourage people to be grateful that the clerk is providing them with a small snack that they can pick off the paper and enjoy on the way out. |
The reaction to the op shows that far too many Nigerians are willing to condone any kind of shoddy slovenly service when they think it doesn't affect them. Anybody who suggests that court clerks could do the same thing in the west, with pizza or whatever, is talking nonsense. But we're Nigerians so we have no right to have our court documents free from amala and stew stains abi? Our people are always saying "what's the big deal joor" to excuse incompetent performance but then complain that our utilities, roads and government are terrible. |
