Vanije: The fat that are found naturally in soya beans can contribute to a reduction in cholesterol levels. Actually, oils that are high in unsaturated fatty acids, such as soya bean oil, helps to decrease high cholesterol levels. And it also has essential polyunsaturated fat which is also good. Plus, omega-3 fatty acid, such as that found mainly in fish oils(which has been found to decrease incidence of heart disease and cancer.)
But the way its processed also matters because sometimes when they process it, they remove some of these natural benefits, replace it with artificial ingredients and call it "Refined" when it's actually not giving you any benefit. Ok Thanks |

Vanije: Update: Olive oil and flaxseed oil are safe oil choices if you must cook with oil. Olive oil is loaded with beneficial fatty acids and powerful antioxidants.

Lajet: Special Considerations Limit sugar and alcohol. They provide few nutrients but many calories. Therefore, they contribute to high cholesterol by increasing body weight. An overweight body contains excess fat that is saturated. Certain habits, such as cigarette smoking and a sedentary life, can increase the risk of heart disease. Cigarette smokers should quit. Regular aerobic exercise (at least 20 to 30 minutes, 3 times a week) can lower cholesterol levels and help to prevent the build-up of cholesterol plaque. It can also reduce stress that may cause high blood pressure, another heart disease risk. Fish should be eaten often, 3 or more times per week. Research indicates that certain deep-sea fish -- mackerel, salmon, herring, albacore tuna, lake trou -- contain an oil called Omega-3 fatty acid. This oil may help to lower blood cholesterol. Fish oil supplements, however, are not recommended because they add too many calories. Avoid high sodium content in foods. Some patients with high cholesterol also have high blood pressure. Reducing sodium can help to keep blood pressure within normal limits. Table salt is about 1/2 sodium. Sodium is also an ingredient in many commercially processed foods. Common medications such as antacids, laxatives, and cough remedies can contain large amounts of sodium. Read product labels and use products with no more than 300 mg of sodium per serving. Herbs and spices can be used in place of salt to add flavor and variety to meals. Do not use a salt substitute unless the physician has approved it. Increase complex carbohydrates, (pasta, whole grains, and potatoes) in the diet. Like fats, they are an excellent source of energy without the harmful effects fats can have on the body. But, read labels of commercially prepared baked goods, cookies, and crackers. These products are notorious for using highly saturated fats such as coconut or palm oils and hydrogenated fats. Eat 20 to 30 grams of dietary fiber every day. Foods such as legumes, oats, barley, brown rice, apples, strawberries, and carrots are good to eat because they contain soluble fiber. Research indicates that soluble fiber helps to lower blood cholesterol levels. Supplements such as psyllium mucilloid (trade names: Konsyl, Metamucil) can lower cholesterol up to 15% when used daily. Oat bran is another soluble fiber that has the same benefit. Choose meats carefully. Grading of meats (Prime, Choice, or Good) refers to fat content, with Prime grades having the most fat. Marbling refers to the threads of white fat running through a cut of meat -- the greater the marbling, the more fat. Read labels and avoid any meat product with more than 3 grams of fat per ounce. Eating out can be a challenge. Avoid fast food restaurants; their foods are usually high in fats and sodium. However, many restaurants now understand the need to provide items for clients on fat or cholesterol-restricted diets. Their menus often contain words like "heart healthy" or have items marked with the symbol™. Ask about ingredients and how foods are prepared. Choose foods wisely and ask for smaller portions.

tforever: High Blood Pressure?
Read up on how our products can help reduce it.
Forever ARGI Plus ™ includes L-Arginine, an amazing amino acid that is known for supporting many vital functions in our body: blood pressure, cardiovascular, immune function, muscle growth, bone and tissue strengthening, male sexual function, fat and glucose metabolism, anti-aging hormone production… and more! In fact, scientists refer to it as the ‘miracle molecule’.
Lucky for us today, Forever Living has crafted it into a supplement that everybody is talking about because it provides 5 grams of L-Arginine per serving, plus a combination of Vitamins and Antioxidants to help keep your whole body fit and energized. Thank you, Forever Living Products!
More specifically, our bodies take in L-Arginine and convert it into nitric oxide. Nitric oxide helps to relax our blood vessels so they can open wide and let the blood flow through with greater ease. This greater blood flow supports healthy blood pressure levels and overall cardiovascular health. So ride that busy roller coaster of life with Forever ARGI plus at your side.
L-Arginine also supports your body in making creatine, a very important protein that contributes to muscle mass and power, according to the Mayo Clinic. The buzz is that L-Arginine may boost endurance. So mixing this powerful supplement in your favorite Aloe Drink is the perfect way to support your whole body in meeting the demands of your energetic lifestyle. L-Arginine has also been shown to enhance immune function. Because L-Arginine is a component of collagen and aids in building new bone and tendon cells, it may be good for joint and connective tissue strengthening. Since L-Arginine is found in high concentrations in the skin and in the connective tissues, it may also aid in repairing damaged tissue, making a scoop of Forever ARGI plus the perfect companion for your Forever Aloe Drink!
The ‘plus’ in Forever ARGI plus is a Vitamin Complex and Antioxidant blend to make it a complete supplement – one that supports better health throughout your entire body. Its sweet flavor and dissolvable crystals make it a perfect sweetener in cereals as well as drinks. What a great drink to your next meal!
Some people even sprinkle it over their dairy products, like yogurt and cottage cheese. So let your creativity be your guide to getting your daily dose of Forever ARGI Plus. Ok thanks |

ChelseaDr: I think anxiety may be responsible. You were probably anxious to know the result of your BP. Also BP does not discriminate. It can happen to children as well. Meanwhile you have to first relax then go for recheck. If it is confirmed then you have no problem Ok thanks |
