I just discovered this thread and recently, there have been no positive responses. Demoralizing to say the least cry cry cry. I submitted my application on the 12th of May and I'm just being hopeful like everyone else here. September intake and using a sponsor. I can say I submitted every document y'all have mentioned. All I can say is "OMO!!!!"........ We shouldn't lose hope o. Things will work out eventually. Nobody ever said it was going to easy.... Please steer me towards any online groups or communities for people with our shared goals? Make person join dey get information abeg..
Just be optimistic, everything is going to be alright...I don't think there is any group but this thread will be more active around June, July and August since it's like the peak period close to resumption and awaiting visa decision

Please how did you pay for your tuition?

I'm using UBA MasterCard to pay via the school provided portal but it's declining.

"Payment declined.Verbal authorization is required. Please contact your card issuer."
Well, it depends on the means of payment the school wants...I actually used Transfermate and I'm sure most of us here, if not all, also used Transfermate...You can try paying through apps like Pay4me

the only ones I could remember is my parents marriage certificate and a sponsorship letter signed by my sponsor and lots more. just look for a good Ireland college agent to handle it for you. sponsorship from family members is more complex compared to self sponsorship
Congratulations, please when did you apply?
I'm also going for September intake, and I applied last month

You can ask for a refund, just send a mail to the insurance company and they will refund the money to the same account you used in paying, I deferred my admission last year, and they refunded the insurance fee....I also have a question, do they check POF these days?
Or rather, do they check POF for everyone
Their matter don even tire m especially with all I've been hearing...is there anyone who is also applying for September Intake?

If you’re considering appeal, please change your mind because your documents will stay longer with them without getting a decision. You’ll eventually be forced to withdraw the application. Same thing happened to me plus the refusal rates are even higher.
The craziest part is that I tried reapplying and my agent told me I have to pay for another insurance of 200€. lol. Bruh, i didn’t even get the visa talk more of using the insurance. Everything about Ireland is just ridiculous

They do not make sense at all, most of the reasons doesn’t. How other way do you want me to proof link to sponsor(my elder brother) after submitting his birth certificate, pictures of us since we were child to now, an affidavit kind of documents including both our parent’s signature confirmating we are sibling and all the documents were notarized.

Stupid reasons, they calm you didn’t submit documents are you obviously submitted…. The whole thing is just crazy
That's not fair, what else do they want??
I even heard someone was rejected because of this same birth certificate issue, that the person dropped Attestation of birth instead of birth certificate from National Population council...it's well
What intake did you apply for initially?

Don't appeal, submit a new application. The long.processing time is because Abuja office handles ALL applications form Nigeria, Ghana, Cote D'Ivoire and Senegal.

Good day everyone, please is there anyone here that deferred their admission last year, and also withdrew the visa application due to delay or those that are applying for September 2026 intake
TravelRe: Ireland Study Visa thread,General Life Experience of Nigerians Living in Ireland by Shally233: 9:08pm On Nov 15, 2025
Ayo112:
Why don’t you email the school and get a deferral letter cause this is looking promising to me instead of withdrawing the application
I already have a deferral letter from school for the next intake which is September, 2026, so I just have to send the letter to them and withdraw
TravelRe: Ireland Study Visa thread,General Life Experience of Nigerians Living in Ireland by Shally233: 11:45pm On Nov 14, 2025
ooouuuiii:
I got mine within a week. So it shouldn't be more than that depending on the day you requested for the withdrawal. If you're in Abuja, you'll get it faster.

Just ensure that you follow up the withdrawal email with a phone call to ensure they've seen your email and that they have or they will action it ASAP.

For those who have been waiting for more than 12 weeks after their application docs got to Abuja, sincerely I would advise you consider withdrawing your application so that you'll have a clean record without visa denial.

However, if your school is still able to accept you and there's still time, then ensure that no week passes by without you calling them to know the status of your application, letting them know it's more than 12 weeks and that you need a decision so that you can get on with your travel plans. But if they ask you for a document/documents that you can't provide, sharply withdraw your application before you're denied.

Don't waste time. Count your losses, wipe your tears and look at other options for 2026. This is admission and scholarship season o. Don't waste it.

✌🏽✌🏽

Thank you, they even sent me a mail which says:

Dear Applicant,

As the date for the start of your 2025 studies have passed, we now require clarification of your study plans at this time.

If you have deferred the start date of your studies until January/February 2026, please forward the deferral letter from the College within 5 working days showing the new start date of your January/February studies.

Or

(i) If your college will still accept you to your course of studies this semester, please forward a letter from college stating final date for your attendance to the course in the State.

Or

(ii) If you want to withdraw your study visa application at this time, please reply within 5 working days to this email.

And

(iii) If you also decide to defer your studies until September 2026, please note that you must submit a new application next year, at least 12 weeks prior to your intended departure date.

FAILURE TO REPLY WITHIN 5 WORKING DAYS WITH YOUR UPDATED INSTRUCTION WILL LEAD TO A DECISION BEING ISSUED ON THE DETAILS OF YOUR APPLICATION ON HAND.

So in this case, the third option is the one that suits me that is I have to withdraw
Will they refund me my visa application fee?

My school gave till 13th of this month
What about you?
They already asked me to defer on or before October 10th so i can't say it counts as an extension

My head is pounding like crazy 😫. If the embassy phone line could talk, it would surely sympathize with me,I’ve called that number a million times since 10 AM and still haven't gotten an answer. I’m just hoping and praying that the reason they didn’t pick up is that my number is on the approved list 😂. I couldn’t even concentrate in class today.

I sent them an email on Friday, but I got no response. I also sent another email today 🥹.

This is week 11 for me 😫

Flight is almost a million
Yours is pounding, mine is doing gbish gbish, I've cried a whole lot but e be things
Has your school given you another deadline for extension

I saw somewhere that you can still get an approval after your resumption extension period has passed. Its well shaaa
Same here, I saw it somewhere too
But it's a waste lol
My advise is that those who are going for September intake next year should apply as early as April or May
Ireland is now an hot cake and people are getting to know about her everyday
I even saw a telegram group named "Ireland study Visa 2026" with over 600 people.
They will be having double of this year's application

Did you check for yours too?

I was thinking we (3) are the only one left here to get a decision for our study application.

Can anyone suggest what could be done when it get to this point?

Thanks
My school gave me till October 10 to defer my admission till next year September
So I'm hoping I get my decision before then and appeal to the school to allow me resume
With all of these happening, I will advise anyone coming to Ireland next year to submit their application as early as May

Congratulations to those that got admitted and visa also condolence to those that faced visa issue. I am joining this conversation from finland and making plans to come to Ireland for work or study. I am currently doing nursing program here and hoping to come to Ireland. I know my study is a critical skill job and I can apply to work in ireland but the downside I have is I don't have any work experience and don't know if I can get a job without work experience. So I am thinking I could come to Ireland via study at least if I have a valid visa in the country I can get a job from inside and a permit holder. I would really appreciate anyone's insight and advice. I finish m6study next year and I'm trying to make preparations now. Thank you
You can apply for Masters in Nursing program by then

Abuja Irish embassy published update showed they currently worked on applications received on 13 July.. so it would take little time to get to your date, I guess so?
They have worked past the date shown
I have a friend that her application got to the embassy on July 16th and she got her decision two weeks ago, so they have worked past the date they uploaded

It is well.

Anyone reached out yesterday and heard anything from the VO yet?

List hasn't been released and today's the last day of September. Tomorrow's a public holiday as well so that's minus one day for this week😔
Hello everyone, please did anyone send any email to the embassy yesterday or Friday, I haven't gotten a response yet and it's unlike them
The last mail they sent me was to provide proof of extension and they acknowledged it but I haven't heard from them since Friday. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
