my rice is just ordinary local rice,if you want original local rice go for big rice companies but you have to buy in bulk.

If 300,000 watermelon cost 1.5M, that means the cost of 1 watermelon is 5 Naira!!!!
These hausa watermelon merchants are really making loads of profit ooo

I think there is a mistake some where,a canter truck carry 15-19 kwarya highest.A kwarya is 100 pieces, therefore 100 x 19=1900 pieces.
I think they want to write 3000 instead of 300,000.No where in Nigeria you can get big watermelon (lagos type)@5 naira.you most buy number one,200 naira cheapest.

Mr Sharrif, i advice you do not go into buying and storing for people. Anybody who is serious in doing this business ,should buy the produce from you and move them to his location. Create a market and sell his produce when it is time to sell. You can take my advice or leave it.Thank you

that's true my brother,I will take ur advice.Any body that's serious should take it to his/her place.we do that with one Mohammed Bashir on nairaland,he purchased some bags of sorghum and moved them to his destination and sold them all last week @25k per bag.
Therefore,No storage for people.we will send you ur goods immediately after purchase.

Trufully,we the masses have problem also in this country.See how one single individual will diverted funds meant for thousand farmers and nothing will be done.

yes you can sell it before 7 month but you will no get the actual profit that you may support to get. For instance, Agusi this year state @ 7k per bag for unpeel,alot of customers bought it like that from me,and now is 10k per bag, i.e 30% profit in one month!!!!! They can sell now if they want to but if it reach like three months they may get 50% profit per bag.

10-Bambara nut:-this is the most riskiest farm produces for storage,it spoil more easily than beans.Also weevills use to destroy it easily but thank God for the PICS bag now that's doing the magic.Current price 55k, haversting time price 20k.

No! Groundnut now is completely wet, November is the right time to buy Groundnut.

9:-Sheanut:-though this is cash crop and alot of people don't know it,it's raw material for doing sheabutter.And it's only available in some certain state like:-Niger,kwarai, nasarawa,benue,abuja,kaduna and kebbi.
Most of it buyers are foreign companies and they are in Ibadan and lagos.its mostly sold per ton,you can buy and store and resell during scarcity.At on season you can get a ton as low as 75k and you can sell it as high as 200k to companies. Below is the ones we store last year with my ogar(a nairalander)700 bags, and do you know the funny thing,I don't even know his user name on nairaland.lolz

8-Dried pepper:- yes alot of people used to store dried pepper in the north,you will buy @cheaper price during harvest period (December) and sell during scarcity time.current price is 22k, harvesting price last year was 10k.

7-Suyabeans:-yes suyabeans is also among the grain you can store,it does not spoil easily unless water touch it but I never see weevils in suyabeans.current price is 33k,at haverst it price last year was 14k.
Haversting period is november/December, storage duration is 7 months (December -July)

6-Agusi:-i believe alot of people now know about agusi!

5-Sorghum/guinea corn (dawa):-we have white,red and yellow dawa!.it haversting period is December, current price is 24k for white and 25k for yellow and red dawa while @ harvest the price was 12k last year.

4-maize:- maize it's also a good produce for storage,if you store it,you will gain even if the gain is not much.Alot of animals feed companies used maize as their main raw material for production,also alot of family consume maize in the north as their food.
The current price of maize is 22,000 for white and 24,000 for yellow,at haversting period last year maize price goes for 11,000 for both white and yellow.Maize harvesting period is september-december while the selling period is June/July.

Prices as of today:-brown beans 63k both oloyi and drum, Ordinary brown 60k,white beans 53k,iron white 56k,white maize 23k,yellow maize 24k,local rice 45k,paddy rice 17k,white sorghum 23k,red sorghum 25k,new millet 13k,old millet 20k,locust beans 27k,suyabeans 33k, dried cassava 16k, groundnut 55k,peeled agusi 40k,unpeeled agusi 13k.

3-Millet is also good for storage just like maize and sorghum,their prices is always almost thesame!.If you store millet no matter how you will gain but some time the profit is not much.as of today this is the current prices for maize, millet and sorghum 23k,23k,23k.lolz
Storage period for millet is long ,10 months, August to July. Also at last year haverst the price is 13k.
