There’s nothing misleading on the post. When you go for biometric at VFS, they will ask you if you have an account to link your evisa when it’s granted and if you say no they will tell you that they can help you to create the account for you at a service fee of 28,000. If you want their service and you agree then you can pay the fee but if you can do it on your own then you can tell them not to worry about it and you will open the account on your own. Even on VFS website during appointment booking you will see the service as a paid service option at £15. Stop misleading people if you’re not sure of what you’re defending.

I just simply explained what i did this month and what every other persons did.

If you don't have have an e-visa account, you will be asked to pay for it to be linked to your account and the amount is N28,250.

Weather Uk government is aware of not, i am not aware of that

If someone does not have entry clearance granted, then they need not concern themselves with e visa.
Once again, e visa is free. Simply means electronic visa and again there is no additional payment.

After your biometric, you will be asked to pay and do your e-visa.
After the payment, you will be directed to the section for the e-visa where someone will attend to you.

However, you will be required to complete the process yourself after they have helped you set it.

The site to complete the process would also be given to you and you will wait till the next 2days to complete the process.

Please, does anyone have recent experience with the new UK eVisa process, especially for applications made from Nigeria?

My partner attended her biometrics appointment 3 days ago, and unlike the previous process, they did not retain her passport. She was instead advised to create a UKVI account for the new eVisa process.

I have been trying to create the account but I’m having difficulty with it, so I would really appreciate some clarification.

My questions are:

1. Is the UKVI/eVisa account supposed to be created immediately after biometrics, or only after the visa has been granted?
2. What is the correct official link for creating the UKVI account?
3. What information/documents are required to create and link the account?
4. Has anyone who recently applied from Nigeria successfully completed this process? If so, could you please share your experience or guide me through it?

I would really appreciate any help, especially from anyone who has gone through the new eVisa process recently.

Lagos State got federal allocation of N195,120,127 One Hundred And Ninety Five Million plus for the installation of 12 boreholes in Lagos and each borehole costs 16.2million

You're ignorant. It's NAFDAC that has been helping them to stay till now and already been accused of enabling the public health nuisance the uncontrolled access to sachet alcohol is causing.

The SGF is obviously running his own agenda as it's clear that Federal Government has not stopped it.

NAFDAC has bigger issues and more lucrative sectors than small-scale merchants profiting from a social nuisance.

The SGF is a politician and being economical by suggesting that he's speaking for the Federal Government. He should go to Kano, Zamfara, Kebbi etc and go enforce his own version of alcohol policy since he claims to be speaking for FGN. Smh.


NAFDAC and the Ministry of Health called his bluff in December, this is February, they will still call his bluff again.


The policy didn’t ban alcohol production but insists that it must be from 200ml and above. NAFDAC will not issue license for any product that doesn't conform and anyone producing unlicensed product is committing a crime that the SGF cannot provide cover for.

The SGF, Senator George Akume, had similar problem with his Benue State Governor. He wants to override during process for political gain. He will not succeed in this one.

Ban of sachet alcohol has come to stay and instruments of the law enforcement and regulation will be used to hold everyone to account.

The Federal Government has directed the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control to suspend all enforcement actions relating to the proposed ban on sachet alcohol and 200ml PET bottle alcoholic products.

The government also warned the agency to immediately stop sealing factories and warehouses over the issue.

The directive was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by the Special Adviser on Public Affairs to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Terrence Kuanum.

Kuanum said the order followed a joint intervention by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Office of the National Security Adviser, which raised concerns over the security implications of continued enforcement in the absence of a fully implemented National Alcohol Policy.

“Accordingly, all actions, decisions, or enforcement measures relating to the ongoing ban on sachet alcohol are to be suspended pending the final consultations and implementation of the National Alcohol Policy and the issuance of a final directive,” the statement read.

He said although the National Alcohol Policy had been signed by the Federal Ministry of Health in line with the directive of President Bola Tinubu, both offices insisted that NAFDAC must refrain from all enforcement measures until the policy is fully implemented and further directives are issued.

The government said such measures include factory shutdowns, warehouse sealing and public emphasis on the sachet alcohol ban.

According to the statement, the continued sealing of warehouses and what it described as a “de facto ban” on sachet alcohol products, without a harmonised policy framework, was already causing economic disruptions and posing security risks, particularly due to its impact on jobs, supply chains and informal distribution networks nationwide.

Kuanum said the position reinforced an earlier directive issued by the SGF’s office in December 2025, which suspended all actions relating to the proposed ban pending consultations and a final decision.

He added that the SGF’s office had also received a letter from the House of Representatives Committee on Food and Drugs Administration and Control dated November 13, 2025, raising concerns over NAFDAC’s proposed enforcement actions and referencing existing resolutions of the National Assembly on the issue.

The letter, referenced NASS/10/HR/CT.53/77 and signed by the Deputy Chairman of the committee, Hon. Uchenna Okonkwo, raised concerns over NAFDAC’s proposed enforcement actions and drew attention to existing resolutions of the National Assembly on the issue.

The Federal Government said it was reviewing legislative resolutions, public health considerations, economic implications and national interest factors surrounding the matter.

The government said the involvement of the National Security Adviser showed that the issue had gone beyond regulatory concerns, warning that premature enforcement without coordinated policy implementation could destabilise communities, worsen unemployment and trigger security challenges.

It assured Nigerians and industry stakeholders that a final decision would be communicated after consultations and inter-agency coordination, in the interest of public health, economic stability and national security.
