happy new year guys
Woke up today to a faulty desktop. Don't know what went wrong..turns on but no display and GPU fan is consistently on

Fixed it. Maybe I can help someone who may have same issue

Had same issue now,but when I checked the gpu I discovered that some ic have falling off...I replaced the ic with another one and it started working...when every I turn it on the gpu fan will roll without displaying.i need to take it to phone repairer soonn cos the ic is very very tinny.

And you've just confirmed my fear of it not running, I'll probably download 18 or 19 and manage.

It will be very terrible playing on that spec, the difference between my old and new GPU is like heaven and earth,despite been 2gb of ram, though my CPU still outdated but planning of little upgrade on it...I own a core i5 650 wanna upgrade to Xeon x3440...my old GPU is GT 710 2gb while my new is RX 550 4gb...I now know the usefulness of good GPU and CPU

Use your display port it there's one in it. It's better than HDMI

Bought hdmi to VGA and it's working perfectly ok.

Started using my new GPU couples of days ago, and I most say the difference between GT 710 2gb and RX 550 4gbis like night and day..


All my old games including FIFA 2019 plays with no cease, though my CPU will have a bottleneck on 8%.

Nice one OP.

A hack I discovered is that if you're doing just 1080p gaming, you don't have to ship in a new monitor. You can buy a very good used one from computer village for dirt cheap. I bought mine for 5k in 2016.
Once you move from 1080p 60fps to like 1440p, then you might need to ship in because you won't find 1440p monitors here.

What's the refresh rate of the one you bought in 2016? hope it's wide screen cos I bought my LED LG 19inch for 7k.it has 1366x768p which it's very bright, but sadly no HDMI.

Have you installed your Rx550? What is the Improvement?

I used Amazon shipping, and it was shipped by DHL...never installed the card my TV is faulty and my new monitor doesn't have HDMI, will have to visit computer village tomorrow to get VGA to HDMI

That's why I hate third party shipping, got the SSD wetin 2 days while the GPU is 7 days, when I ordered the GPU it's out of stock had to wait like 4 days for the new stock. endsars protest delay from here too, from Amazon UK paid £24 for everything...even if am ordering more still the same amount.

Thats wrong o ssd changes alot , you're bounded by your I/O disk speed alot of times , unless you're saying OS should be on SSD instead than games then yeah

Gotten my Graphics and SSD..will send the pics later since am not home for now, but it has been deliver to my house...SSD doesn't enhance the game speed,I made my research it only enhance the speed of the game to just load

Got my ssd from DHL yesterday waiting till monday for my graphics card....please should I load window on the SSD or use it as back up..I read that it only makes system to load fast, I mean the windows and games..it doesn't enhanced the speed of the game.
