There's this thing computer does sometimes i don't understand. When i've killed all but the king,blocked all his route, it'd end the game as draw cos there's no safe place for the king to go. How true is that?

Stalemate occurs if the king is not in check and no valid moves left for the king or pawns.

i have seen it now he has no bishop that piece is queen and the other is king so moving two steps up checkmate the king. But the queen looks like bishop.

Lols. Its 3D chess. Download it or whatsapp me if you need it.

Are you saying those two whites beside each other are both queens? Thought its the bishop that stood before the queen na.
But check them well again, aren't they different? angry

The white piece close to computer king is my queen. While the other white is my king.

Check the shape of their head,

Wait oh, I dont understand this your game oooo. Bishop standing in between the queen and the rook on same straight line, how can you checkmate without the king out-thrown the rook? Is the queen going to jump over the bishop or what? shocked

What you stated in your above mention cant hold at all except .....maybe I'm not seeing what you are seeing

Definitely we are seeing different things. Or did i upload wrong pic, and am seeing the right one?

Have you guys notice computer sometimes castle quickly, are they really protecting the king or just making the two rooks and the queen comes closer together making em poweful.

Best defense is best attack, so Castle as quickly as possible.

1st remove the bishop to the preceding brown diagonal leading to where the king was taking refuge, d king would then shift a square away from the rook, then the queen will be moved to the line the king was standing to checkmate it (the king)

**** NB: I mentioned that I dont know the move names and Im yet to familiarize myself with them, so pardon my layman explanation for now (that is if its layman's explanation in the first place)

** What do you say??

Check the pic again this time. I have one last move to checkmate, what's the move?

Not bad! But it wouldn't work that way. Remember computer will counter attack which might force me to do different move from your explanation. You try though.

The most annoying thing in chess is when you are checkmated by a pawn. You will feel like you have failed your final exam.

how come the King has 9 points and i heard that pawns are as important as any other piece in the game.

I think the king has 9 points because it has same power as the queen but limited distance, i believe its because it the most important piece and also the main aim of the game.,

As for the pawn, the reason they are as important as any other piece in the game is because of promotions. every pawn is a potential queen. So to me apart from Queen pawn is the next important piece, i dont just loose or sacrifice my pawn unless am certain i will capture a rook, knight, or bishop.

Think I still have a lot to learn and a long way to go oh. Can you explain these moves briefly please?

Fifty move rule occurs if you or your opponent moves any of your pieces 50 times without any capture. The game ends in a draw. Some rules says 15 moves instead of 50. So rules always changes,

Threefold repetition the threefold repetition rule means a player can claim a draw if the same position occurs three times, or will occur after their next move, with the same player to move. The repeated positions do not need to occur in succession. The idea behind the rule is that if the position occurs three times, no progress is being made.

Samething applies to fourfold repetition, but 4 moves instead of 3.

The game can be very frustrating, you would be happy that you have a move to kill your opponent , only to commit a blunder.

When playing always start your attack with the lowest piece in terms of points,

Pawn = 1 point
Knight and bishop = 3 points
Rook = 5 points
Queen = 8 points
King = 9 points,

So what i mean is start attacking with the ones with 3 points,

En Passant is simply when you make a capture after a pawn is moved two squares forward from its starting position.

So for example, when you move a pawn as White from e2 to e4 and you pass a black pawn sitting at d4 then Black can capture your e-pawn en passant because you passed it.

The opposing pawn can capture it the same way, as if it had only moved one square forward. After it is captured, the chess position is the same as if the pawn had only moved one square forward.

This chess rule applies only, if the pawn has not moved before during the game and is still sitting on its original square.

See pic

White pawn moves 2 square forward and black move to the black square diagonally and picks up the white pawn that moves 2 squares

Well you are right, na you be oga now. But bishops aren't too powerful to me sha cos of their diagonal movement, knights have more and better advantages over them in terms of movement. With my two knights intact, I can easily give the opponent a good fight cool

Try learn how to use Knights and bishops together, its cool

chess can be frustrating eh.

Before queen was my power in the game, so i learn how to use my Knights, then when playing i make sure our queen are eliminated. Then i start distruct with my knights and bishop, Knight should have more than just 3 points cos na bad guy

Very true, but those computer are very stupid oh,you make one move they have 20 moves to counter that one move

Yes, that's y if you really want to win computer, always check all your pieces, make sure 1 piece have 2 back up. Because best defense is the best attack. Don't make unnecessary moves unless for a reason.

I miss my blackberry chess, LS CHESS. You play online with gurus and earn points. You play with grandmaster win and earn 500 points, lose and you loose 250 points. I played like 200 people before i could reach grandmaster. Indonesian guys are leading back then if i could remember.

Master or level 10 is something else ...... no amount of cheating can make someone win it, in fact, b4 you say "Jack Robinson", the computer already won. cheesy

I used to play mid-level and usually wins, but I used to 'undo' and do some 'ojoro' some times, whenever I see that the computer is having the lead grin ..... Now Im just after playing it in the physical, I know I will get there

I reach level 8 with computer.

Honestly, if not for multiple movements that makes the queen to somehow have an edge over the knights, the knights are the baddest, I try to work around it to see that one of the knights, at least, is eliminated quickly at the beginning of the game. Respect is just too much for the knights.

It depends on what you know how to use, if i have my 2 bishop and my knights, my opponent is a dead meat,

You forget empasant move, fifty move rule, three repetition fold, four repetition fold, etc all these are important too so it won't look like magic to some
