If there is one Nigerian that speaks and writes intelligently without trace of prejudice in its judgement, I believe tis Uncle Segun Adeniyi. The flow and his style of writing had always, to me though, shown a man who is out for the truth. I've read several of his articles and I can say I always feel that sincerity in his voice. May God's blessing continue on Uncle Segun and his household! Amen.

I took time to read your submission and also the interview of The Sage. But in all you said, you failed to make some of us, I suppose, reason along your line of thoughts. You burdened your epistle with tribal tone thus allowing that, with due respect, becloud your sense of unbias reasoning on this issue. It was clear from the beginning of this epistle that you had a pre-determined perception and you have concluded in your mind that Awolowo did an evil thing against the Igbos and whatever he had to say does not matter; that is, believe me, our problem in this country. It is very sensible that as an educated individuals we reason rationally without fraughting it with emotion. Aside burdening the epistle with tribal and emotive tone, you failed to answer some of the questions posed by The Sage.

During the war, Ojukwu and the other elites of Biafra with their children never look like a people at war, they were well fed while the Biafran populace were 'Kwashorkwoed'. The like Phillip Effiong, Mbanefon and other Biafran Elites had their children and extended family members well fed and protected when the children of the commoners were woodwinked to war when it was so glaring that the possibility that they might be killed was so high.

Niccolo Machiavelli in one of his outstanding thesis titled 'The Prince' averred that " ... the arms of a nation are hallowed when it has no other resource but to fight." He further stated that " ...in the matter of war, I am allowed the usage of any manner of weaponry in order to win." I also know of this popular saying that it does not matter how you kill your enemy, as long as it dies. Awolowo's allegiance at the time of the civil war was with the Federal Govt, thus his advice to Gowon to block food transit to The East; this I believe was a reasonable advice, I do not mean to sound barbarous since a huge number of persons died. And also do not read this as a way of justifying the reason for the adoption of Awo's, I believe, brilliant advice. But I believe if Dim or Biafra had such weapon it would also had used it against Nigeria. When war comes, all that the partaker would think of is a way to win.

Questions: where was Nnamdi Azikiwe before and during the war? Did he give his blessing to Dim to go to war with Nigeria? What role did he play during the life of that country called Biafra? These are just passing thought.

texazzpete: Actually iOS came out before Android on consumer devices. Samsung thought they could clone (as usual) stuff from Apple with impunity. They were wrong.
Apple used LTE in their 2012 iPad. What do you mean 'if truly'?! It's on the spec sheets. Samsung doesn't have to 'prove' anything you dolt!

Virtual community like this forum, I understand,is a world of anonymity where: insults, rumours, gossips, intellectual emptiness and the likes are brandished as a virtue. I guess I shouldn't say more than that.

According to the body of the article, Samsung did anticipate that Apple will be using its version of LTE- guess you've been schooled on HTC's LTE. See excerpt from article " Samsung anticipates that it will file, in the near future, a motion to amend its infringement contentions to add the iPhone 5 as an accused product..."Based on information currently available, Samsung expects that the iPhone 5 will infringe the asserted..."". I hope this point you to the fact that Samsung still have to prove that the LTE used by Apple belongs to it.

Is this for the consumer's benefit?

I like your thread of thought. But really the essence of all the legal tussle is to gain larger ground in the iPhone & SmartPhone market. I guess Apple knows that Samsung is taking it in Africa, Asia and doing favourably well in Europe and I guess North America. This is definitely good for the iPhone, smartphone market, thus good for the consumers.

Technically, Apple had never created anything. All it did was to couple different inventions of other companies ( Google' android ) into one, though went into agreement with them. Samsung thought it could do the same not believing that such coupling could stand as a patent. But if Apple truly used LTE in iPhone 5 and Samsung could convincely prove it, then mega billion dollar going back to Samy..... Confession: I kind of prefer Samsung.

Hello guys!

Check this "needed repair old scribble" I wrote some time ago. That was when my journey of scribbling started. I want your critique.

What Social Media can do....

The advent of Social Media was celebrated, both by our old folks and the youths; by the government and its supposed oppositons; by the learned and the semi lettered; by the teachers and the students; by corporate companies and their prospects ( by the Y boys and their 'Magas'..lol). Nobody foreknows that this media could be of use for radical organization of people as used during the Arab Springs; What I term a neo-revolution was birthed, never seen in histories of revolutions, by the coming together of youths who were fed up with the insensitivity of their governments. They co-ordinated themselves through the social media, their rendezvous, and before one could say Jack Robinson, 3 north African sit-tight regimes were overran and ousted; even as it took them months of dogged fight.The power of the People should never be sold short; even when the task of emancipation seems daunting, the people, acting in unison, had and will always triumph. We ought to had made our January OccupyNigeria a Sahara spring, but... This is the fear of the Nigeria government which is in the air already; they've been told the Arab Spring might be a child's play. But what is the government doing to avert this coming whirlwind? Rather than being sensible, it's engaging the use of propaganda. The government employed different attack dogs, in the name of 'Special Assistant', with different sizes and shapes of teeth to shout down any criticism from any quarter. A sensible government ought to see the criticism from the social media ( or the opposition) as a feedback and do the needful. That's where this government of Mr GEJ is getting it all wrong. Criticism should be a stimulant that should make it act but nay, not this government. When the the government thought it okay to use the tax payers' money to emyploy another attack dog - Dr Okupe- in addition to the once in the villa, I felt like I should just slap somebody! Can this head be so clueless. Tis confirmed therefrom that GEJ is damn CLUELESS. We are a nation of brainy men and women, but we had allowed mediocres and crooks stir our ship off course. We are a failing nation and majority of us want the status quo unchuange even as we pretend to be shouting and ranting. All we need is action; to continue waiting is to die complaining. Let wait no more people.
