Politics / Parable Of "The Doctrine Of Change by sherilycious: 8:25pm On Feb 03, 2015
Let me give a parable concerning 'The Doctrine of Change'.

There was a certain man, considered a GIANT among his peers. He realized that his status demands some security, so after several recommendations, he bought a dog.

After about four (4) years, he became fed up with the 'weak' and 'lackaidasical' way the dog treated security issues.

He became fed up and made a vow that he would SELL his dog and buy a goat in its place. He said he wanted ANYTHING but the dog.

Question, does the weak approach of a the dog warrant the purchase of a goat?

Dont be deceived. GEJ till 2019.

Politics / Jonathan’s Critics On Corruption Hypocritical, Says TAN by sherilycious: 4:42pm On Jan 23, 2015
The Transformation Ambassador of Nigeria (TAN) has said most of the people criticising President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration are actually the corrupt ones who have one case or the other to answer at the anti-corruption agencies.

The organisation which is playing key role in the re-election campaign of President Jonathan insisted that the president has performed more than all his predecessors contrary to what opposition political parties were feeding Nigerians.

The Head, Media and Public Communications of the group, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, who spoke in an interview with THISDAY on Tuesday in Abuja, said what the Jonathan administration has been doing is to systematically digitise accounting records and streamline processes and procedures for payments as well as the disbursement of funds with a view to drastically reducing corruption.

“This president has been the one that has built more schools, more universities, founded more primary schools, built Almajiri schools far more than any other president in the history of this country, but that is the fact that is very much understated and has not been quite acknowledged as it should. Jonathan has invested more in education than any of his predecessors,” he said.

According to the TAN spokesman, the previous government did more of show than any substantive prosecution of crimes by arresting many people, parading them before television cameras wasting a lot of public funds without yielding much fruit.

He challenged anyone “to look at the records of the so-called critics who have been demonising this government about corruption, and it will be seen that they were once being pursued by one anti corruption agency or the other.

“Secondly, it is on record that the president has also modernised infrastructure far more than what his predecessors did, at least anybody driving around the country will acknowledge that the road networks are far better now, the airport are convenient and more user friendly; these are facts that every Nigerian experiences everyday. People may want to deny or understated them but the fact is that the infrastructure in this country has been better.

“Look at the records of some of them, you will find out that they were the same people who at one point being chased by the anti-corruption agencies and in the end, nothing came out of it, so the fact that they expect the president to repeat the same drama and he has not done that does not mean that he has not been fighting corruption as he should.”http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/jonathan-s-critics-on-corruption-hypocritical-says-tan/199131/

Politics / My Administration Has Achieved A Lot For The Country: Jonahthan by sherilycious: 3:59pm On Jan 23, 2015
President Goodluck Jonathan has said that his administration had achieved a lot for the country but the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East is taking the peoples’ attention away. Jonathan said this on Thursday when he visited the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwan Adamu, and members of the Bauchi Traditional Council in continuation of his presidential campaign for the February general elections. He, however, promised that his administration would soon end the insurgency and free Nigerians from the violent campaigns of the terror sect. “The unfortunate Boko Haram excesses are taking attention away from our numerous achievements. “Everybody wants security; everybody wants to be safe and to be able to move freely. “I am therefore assuring you that we will bring the situation to a reasonable degree and will eventually end it very soon,” the President said. Jonathan said his administration had worked hard to reposition agriculture, transportation, youth empowerment, and promised that if re-elected he would work with Bauchi leaders to develop the abundant mineral resources in the state as part of measures to diversify the country’s economy from crude oil. “When we moved round in 2011, we got massive support from you and, since then, we have been working hard to justify your support. Insha Allahu, (By God’s Grace) we will also succeed this time. “We have worked very hard to improve agriculture and ended decades of fertilizer scam. We want Nigerian farmers to crop three times a year. “We are thinking of different options to fully diversify our economy due to the fall in the global price of oil and Bauchi is one of the states we will tap into its solid mineral potential,’’ Jonathan said. In his response, the Emir thanked Jonathan for the respect and love he has for the traditional institution and commendd him for his efforts to end the insurgency. He also expressed hope that the abducted Chibok school girls would soon be free. “We appreciate your love and respect to the traditional institution. Only God gives power, anytime He wishes. “I urge you and other candidates for different offices to bear this in mind in your campaigns. Politicians should work towards making Nigeria a stronger regional and sub-regional force.’’ he said.

APC has been consistent in saying that PDP has ruled
Nigeria for 16 disastrous years in which corruption,
impunity, insurgency, armed robbery and several ills
of society held sway. But at a very close look at the
APC, I am seeing: 1)Rotimi Amaechi – 8 years
speaker; 7 year, Governor under PDP. 2)Atiku Abubakar – 8 years Vice president under PDP.
3)George Akume – 8 years Governor under PDP.
4)Bukola Saraki – 8 years Governor; 2 years, Senator
under PDP. 5)Timipre Sylver – 4 years Governor
under PDP. 6)Audu Ogbe – 2 years National
Chairman of the PDP. 7)Aminu Masari – 4 years as the Speaker, House of Representatives under PDP.
Chris Ngige – 3 years Governor under PDP. 9)Rabiu
Kwankwaso – 7 years Governor; 3 years Defense
minister under PDP. 10)El Rufai – 4 years FCT Minister;
2 years BPE Chairman under PDP. 11)Tambuwal-3ye
ars as Speaker House of Reps under PDP; and to cap it all, Obasanjo is the navigator of the APC, a man
who spent 8 of the disastrous 16 years as the
maximum ruler of Nigeria. It is now clear that APC is
a waste basket of the PDP, where the people who
created and perpetuated the 16 disastrous years are
now dumped. So where is the change coming from? Are they now saints because they joined APC?
Pls be WISE & VOTE not for those seeking power by
force :- . Kindly confirm if this is true.

What are his ideologies, other countries are growing and breaking new grounds and we want to use our hand to bring a man with mentality of the 50s to come rule us. Just because we are saying Anything but GEJ. Let APC bring Kwankwaso or Rochas, or Oshiomole or Fashola or Tambuwa we can now talk about change not a 73years old to come rule us.
