Thank you for your response. Truly appreciate it. About OIS, at what point are you to pay for OIS? Is this after the appointment? I assumed so because you have to get the visa first right? before paying for delivery. Please let me know if I am correct. Thank you. Efetobore1980: |
Hello, My mum has her appointment in Abuja but she wants topick up her passport in Lagos because she lives in Lagos. There are two options for Document Delivery: 1. FreeDelivery - DHL LAGOS/ DHL Abuja 2. Premiumdelivery- OIS Services / DHL Locations. I'm not sure if with option 1, I can specify whether lagos or abuja or if it just takes your appointment location by default. Or Is OIS better? |

Thank you so much. One question I have though is that: Her school is registered as a business name and not a registered company. Do you think this matters? Africankel: |
ok, I just did a quick google search and I know what to do. One question I have though is that. Her school is registered as a business name and not a registered company. Do you think this matters? shewa12345: |
Thank you so much. I have a quick question. Although they didn't explicitly mention CAC in the letter, this is what was mentioned: "Home Office checks have confirmed that this school is currently inactive and therefore not operating and generating any revenues.". Does this refer to CAC? Also, she pays tax every month to Lagos IRS. Is this different from annual returns? I know annual returns should be filed once a year so I'm guessing it is different. I will please appreciate more information. Thank you again. Africankel: |
Hello Everyone, My mum just got a refusal email. The main reason was that the school she owns and manages "is currently inactive and therefore not operating and generating any revenues." The school is obviously operating and generating revenue but I guess it shows up as inactive. We even included the school's up-to-date tax payment receipts but I guess that wasn't enough. Even though I was stated as the sponsor with more than enough money in USD shown to sponsor her stay, no reference was made to that in the refusal letter. I live in the US and was also planning to visit the UK to see my mum. All of this was mentioned in the application but I guess it wasn't enough. My question is this: how have people with businesses sorted out this CAC thing? Did you go to CAC to contest this? did you send an email? how long did it take them to update it? what did you do? Thank you so much for your help. |
Longjonjoe:you can send an email here: https://ukvi.mysecurepay.co.uk/Home or just call them on: Telephone: +44 (0)300 790 6268 - select option 1 Monday to Friday, 24 hours Calls cost 69 pence per minute on top of your standard network charges. I called since i didn't want to wait 5 days for a response. |
shewa12345:i found it. nvm. |
Siberry:how do you send a paid email? |
Siberry:I see. Congrats. Please how do you go about sending them an email? what is the email address? Is it the same thing as the "paid mail" I have seen mentioned here a few times? |
Longjonjoe:+1. My mum did hers on the 22nd of March and I'm beginning to get a little impatient. I would also like to know how to go about the "paid email" thing. |
Siberry:When did your mum go for her biometrics? i'm also waiting for my mum's decision and visa. |
Legend1145:I saw the same thing too but was disappointed when it only showed that the application is still at the DMC. |
Hi Guys, I am a masters student in the US and my fiance intends visiting me sometime in August. We have his visa appointment already fixed for early August. Now thing is, we spoke with an agent and she said using me as the reason for coming will be detrimental to his application as they will think he intends to just come here, get married and not return. So, we have decided to use his cousin that stays in Maryland. He has sent his invitation letter, utility bills and all other things that would be required for the process. Another thing is, my fiance also wants to come here for his masters next year and he has commenced discussion with one of these new ivy league universities and they have also sent a formal letter of invitation to come check out the school and speak with the Director. Guys, what do you think his chances are? A short profile: -Applying for a B visa (3weeks) -Works with a consulting firm here in Nigeria -Earns between 350 - 450k What other ties with Nigeria do you think he should provide? I really want his application air tight. Should he mention me as his reason for visiting as well (maybe attaching pictures, call logs, chats, etc)? I need advice. |
