The only issue will be earnings will be taxed from source and remitted to the Nigerian government. Hopefully the tax is not above 30%

Did you read the entire article? I have gone to see her parents already. The girl just confirmed to me that she never wanted the baby.
So, I guess I don't have anything to fight for again.
You went to see her parents WITH WHO?
Did you go with an ELDER?
Did the Elder (not you) provide a firm date to her parents? Don't know your culture but in mine the man goes with an elder and gives a date for introduction. After introduction the elder then asks for a date for traditional wedding.
Bottom line is that you cannot proceed with marriage alone.

What kind of nonsense.
Ask your parents right now to call hers and give her parents a date to come for introduction.
There is a wrong stigma attached to single motherhood.
You know exactly what to do to fix it.
Four months was enough time to have gone to see her parents yet you opted to take her to the hospital.

Good day ma, please ma I know you don't know me and will be angry at this mention out of nowhere but please kindly give me some audience ma. I'm a part of the series thread and I'm also please dataless to send a PM which I believe would be 90% ignored ma. I used the MTN 20mb freebasics package which allowed me to message you here on nairaland, please do not be annoyed at my audacity please.

please I pray for grace to be sufficient for you to help my life. Please I'm deeply in need of a laptop to learn graphic design and other digital skills. I'm not asking for a brand new one and I am not feeling entitled for it because I don't owe you anything. I'm only begging you please. There are fairly used ones for a decent price ma. Please support me with any amount to buy one. I really need it please especially in school. And please if you have any one you are no longer using and can be gifted to me (even if it's to pay a little amount for it) honestly i will so appreciate it.

Please ma I kindly plead for a reply even if it's a very bad one or insultive ma because my head strongly told me I'll be snubbed and ignored but as the elders say a closed mouth is a closed Destiny, that's why you see me shamelessly in your mentions pleading for help for this device, once again I'm very sorry ma.

Prices of petroleum products at NNPC stations in some parts of Lagos as at 16th Nov
One litre of petrol: 598
One litre of Kerosene:790
One litre of Diesel: 1250
Isn't it obvious that government is heavily subsidizing petrol as at today
I have said before that the President needs to sack everyone in the NNPCL from the gateman to the GMD,just like he did in the Central Bank
The level of corruption in that place will make those in Central Bank look like saints
How difficult is it to refine locally,it seems they are hell bent on importation of fuel so that they can continue feasting on the nation
Let this government take the bull by the horn and privatize one or two of this moribund refineries, work with Dangote Refinery to start production,it will surprise you that these people at NNPCL will sit up
No good can come out of the present crop of people at NNPCL because they are part of the problem and they can never be part of the solution
The present government will not do that.
Reason: if they do, Nigeria will start healing slowly. That is NOT their agenda

Quite unfortunate to see an honest experience shared for others to learn just quickly turn to insult/abuse by people who had NEVER made a mistake..
There are more than a single reason why ANYONE could end up being a single mum...From death, to abuse (top on the list is physical abuse), to cheating! Yes cheating as it is a VALID reason, legally and 'biblically' why a separation might happen. I honestly don't know what the Quran says...Pls, let us be reasonably and fair in our judgement..
My former neighbour that I mentioned earlier had her hubby left to USA and no one hears from him again, it's been 8 years!!!!Just disappeared, are we going to blame her too? She even took a loan to pay for the flight ticket!!! Who knows what had happen!!!
It's not everybody that is a LovePeddler...some of us have daughters, sisters and I believe a woman birth us! Let's be fair in our assessment...
When I joined Nairaland in 2006, it was a gathering of level-headed people (lots of foreigners, diasporans and schooled Nigerians). There was mutual respect, hardly any name-calling.
Now it is a cesspool; most have left, few of us remain as the voices of reason. In almost every nairaland comment I can feel the bile beneath.
It is unfortunate.

Acquaintance. Is that what you people are calling them nowadays? I hope it's not to numb the feeling of having so many exes that you've lost count?
You bring up the issue of dictionary meaning without any evidence of having come in contact with one for a long while. An acquaintance in its true dictionary meaning will have no place in our conversation since we're clearly talking about (romantic) relationships here. Except of course you were so "acquainted" with them that you opened your legs for as many as possible.
Anyways whatever you chose to call them - ex, acquaintance, entanglement, - doesn't negate the fact that you're gloating over what the father of your kid(s) would have done many times over without any appreciation from you and your ilk.

You digress boy. Bottom line is like attracts like, and if a person, whether male or female continues to meet people of certain composition, the problem is the person.
Everyone around you is a reflection of some attribute of yourself.
In this world there is NOTHING to change but yourself.
Let's assume I got intimate with everyone I got acquainted with. (You surely need that dictionary- acquaintances are not specifically male) for me to say that they were all responsible means there is something about me that attracts responsible people.
Argue from now till tomorrow you are the common denominator in your life.
There are people who are always fired from jobs, there are people who are always having misfortune around them, there are people who always enter one chance, there are people who constantly get their items stolen, there are people who are constantly lucky (like me) - It is not the circumstances. There is something about them attracting similar experiences to them.

Prevention is better than cure.

I can see you're still encouraging sexual fun and trying to make it mild by advising the use of condom. My take on that is, every single parent should sew their private part . As in.. total lock up until they get married otherwise theyll keep birthing more children or end up getting used and dumped, plunging them into more depression.

If you don't have sex you will not die. Na some people don dey 7years and still counting Dem never test sex e com be person wen don do so tay born, body still dey scratch. Sex suppose erase from the list abeg.
That is good advice from OP.
OP clearly stated that she doesn't allow males in her home and she doesn't have time for a relationship.

But let me tell you, sexual abstinence is best but how many Nigerians are real Christians? Most of us are religious (church or mosque going), not real Christians or Muslims. Not real change inside, mostly hypocrites. (I always say that Nigerians who are crying about the corruption in this country only do so because they haven't had the opportunity to steal from the National Cake).
Some of us do not have religions. Some are traditionalist.
She is saying - "I am going to abstain but if you are a false follower of a religion" like many Nigerians are please use protection so you don't create more children missing one parent.

How many single fathers do you know that can lock up for 6 months?

Like doesn't attract like.
In physics it's opposite poles that attract
Look around you, in most relationships decent men end up with bums all the time. Quiet ones pair up with loquacious partners, gentle ones with ruffians, etc
If you were so alike with your exes why didn't they work out?
The common denominator is actually the women who are mostly spoilt brats and only learn responsibility when there's no other option.

See how excited you appear because you have managed to achieve what your partner could have done times two of but while still receiving insults and condemnations from you because he's not as "rich as his fellow men."
Only in physical magnetic fields do opposites attract , but in relationships "birds of the same feather flock together" "show me your friends and I will show you who you are" "like attracts like".
Several people cannot be a common denominator (I am sure you understand the principle of common denomination) - only one person can be a common denominator. Common denominator is not plural, it is always singular.

Read up the dictionary meaning of acquaintance. Acquaintance is NOT a synonym for "Ex". It has a totally different meaning.

People end up with opposites but the relationship is tough, very difficult and prone to disintegration. There is a reason why singles are advised to marry someone who shares similar outlook on life.

Women will always want to be extravagant with a man's money - best eateries, best children's schools, best apartments. But when they have to handle these bills by themselves , that's when they learn how to manage funds responsibly.
Like attracts like. If the only type of women you are meeting are extravagant, irresponsible women, you must check yourself as you are the common denominator.
I do not believe that I have ever made an acquaintance with an irresponsible person. I might meet them briefly but never make an acquaintance. Remember like attracts like You are always the common denominator in everything that happens in your life.

Good for single mothers.... too many need inspiration and guidance. Wayy too many believe a child does not need their father or a present father figure in their life .... I raised my child all by myself used as a badge of honour... not knowing a woman cannot raise a man. No doubt... it is not easy to be a single mother and society does not help by stigmatizing single mothers ... regardless of how they got to that status.
What would it have cost you to have read the writeup? What is with Nigerians in Nigeria? Why don't they read? OP stated the attached and yet you choose to write something she did not state. OP acknowledged the role fathers play.

It is biblical to curse!

Elisha and the Two Bears (2 Kings 2:23-25)

23 Then he (Elisha) went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!” 24 When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number. 25 And he went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.

Thanks
Elisha was NOT a Christian.
Jesus the person who started Christianity says you cannot curse people!!!

I currently work in a top firm in the industry as a young graduate and fairly compensated but I seriously do not like the team I'm assigned to. My team members are great but I do not see myself doing what we do in team in many years to come. Additionally, what the team does limits me to this same thing within the industry and the number of opportunities as a whole. The tasks are repetitive and not as technical like I would love. This demotivates me and does not make me actively develop myself in this field. I do not find joy in it. I have tried many times to switch teams but that did not work out for me. I work with members from the team I would like to join and I always wished I was in that team.

I'm determined to change this as early as possible as I believe this is the best time to take risk. I have decided that if I can't switch to my dream team, then I would have to find this dream in another firm (most likely smaller with lesser prestige but with opportunity to learn valuable skills). However, I am confused on if this is a wise decision.

I need your advice on this drastic decision I need to take.

Thank you all

Good morning,
Please I have a pressing issue I will like to seek advice on.
I got entangled with a lady whose family rejected me from marrying her about 12years ago.
She got was thrown out after a quarrel and ended up moving in with me as she claimed she no where else to go.
After many years she gave birth to a baby girl last January,we haven't had peace since we started living together.

After she gave birth, she fought me and openly embarrassed me in the street after several domestic assaults and public embarrassment.
I processed a transfer to lag from abj and have had peace ever since.

I got a call from her about 4months ago telling me she will be traveling to uk that I should come and take my daughter or she will arrange with the creche to take care of her pending the the time she will be through with her studies.
She also asked if she should forfeit her admission and recall her fees if am not okay with the idea.

My question is, should I ask her to cancel the admission and recall her fee or should I just take the 17months baby and try to nurture her as we both do not family members who will want assist.

Please I need ur urgent advice.
Why are you bringing this up 4 months later?
School sessions would have already started.

Between 1400 and 1900, the African continent experienced four sizeable slave trades (1).
1 Trans-Atlantic slave trade where slaves were shipped from West Africa, West Central Africa, and Eastern Africa to he European colonies in the New World.

2. The trans-Saharan

3. Red Sea - slaves were taken from inland of the Red Sea and shipped to the Middle East and India.

4. Indian Ocean slave trades –In the Indian Ocean slave trade, slaves were taken from Eastern Africa and shipped either to the Middle East, India, or the plantation islands in the Indian Ocean.

In total, close to 20 million slaves were taken from the continent (Nunn 2008). According to the best estimates, by 1800 Africa’s population was half of what it would have been, had the slave trades not occurred (Manning 1990).
during the slave trades, individuals frequently turned on one another, kidnapping, tricking, and selling each other into slavery. The existing historical evidence indicates that these forms of betrayal were common. (2)
The most common manner in which slaves were taken was through villages or states raiding one another (Northrup 1978; Lovejoy 1994).
In many African societies there were no prisons, so people who were captured were sold." (3)

The Island of Zanzibar was the center of the Afro-Indian slave trade(4) After being gathered together and shipped from Zanazibar the slaves were shipped to the new location. Three out of four slaves died before they reached the market where they were to be sold. The causes were hunger, illness or exhaustion after long journeys. Once in the new location, the males were typically castrated. There, they worked as field workers, teachers or harem guards, which is why the castration of male slaves was common practice. (5)
