Grupo:Your suggestion is not stupid boss, I also thought of that initially when the problem started. |
GAZZUZZ:Thank you boss, na to carry am travel interstate be that |
GAZZUZZ:No knock sensor code, in fact no code at all, No CEL. so for the carbon, what will I have to do to resolve the pre-ignition issue ? Decarbonisation using machine or manual cleaning ? Thanks for the reply boss |
Hello GAZZUZZ, I have a Honda Civic 2008. for over a year now I sometimes tend to hear a rattle noise coming from the engine side while accelerating specifically at low rpm towards 2000rpm when about shifting into second gear. There's no engine stall or power loss. I use fully synthetic oil 5w20 oil only. No CEL, several mechanic have checked and said the engine is fine nothing is wrong, I'm just confused. This does not happen in neutral or park but only while driving and when it engine is warmed up, especially when the thermostat is fully open at 98 degrees celsius and the fans come on, I use my scanner to monitor this vital. I have replaced the thermostat, changed coolant, flush radiator etc (I use Honda 50/50 type 2 coolant). Since this only happens when driving, its difficult to pin point the exact location of the problem. One time i tried draining all the fuel in the system and refilling with fuel from a different filling station. I noticed i wasn't hearing the noise anymore for a while until one day. I have tried octane booster, injector cleaners even cleaned it the injectors and the entire fuel system. One mech said it might be a tiny leak from to top gasket, that it might be internal heat, since this only happens when its fully warmed up. I'm just confused. There is no coolant leak or anything, no smoking, engine is still quiet and sound. P.S The rattle noise sounds like a car that's overheating and the gas pedal is pressed, but this car is not over heating(temp gauge never gets to the middle). I noticed using AC helps to reduce the chances of the rattle since the temperature hardly exceed 78 degrees celsius when the AC is on. If I'm to describe the sound thoroughly I would say it sounds this way "ggrrrrr". Just for a short period of time ,1 -2 seconds and only happens when I step on the gas pedal at low rpm Please I need help and suggestions. Thanks and sorry for the long write up. |

Please where can someone get Decarbonisation services for cars in Portharcourt? |
dicksonadams:Not everyone appreciates your archaic, boring, ugly looking corolla, some of us just want something sexy that feels like a sport car. And Civics are very reliable and economical as well. And just because any road side mech can just finger it for you because its easier for them to understand and fix doesn't make it the best o. |
GAZZUZZ:Thanks Boss i know where to look now |
Please GAZZUZZ oga what could be causing loss of acceleration in a 2008 civic.. Especially when i turn on the AC, it responds slowly from rest and doesn't accelerate fast as it used to but it picks up a little better when AC is turned off but still not up to the way it used to be earlier some months back. I noticed poor fuel economic recently too.. NO check engine light and still shifts correctly at the appropriate RPM. Case Scenario I used to get to 70km/h from rest in barely a 5sec before but these days it can take like twice that even commercial buses and taxis accelerate faster Help me please!! |
GAZZUZZ:Thanks Boss!.. Worked like charm, no more limp mode since i replaced the fuel pump |
Oga Gazzuzz please help! I have a honda civic 2008 which sometimes after driving for a long distance it will just slow down to about 20km/h and won't accelerate.. If i press the gas pedal it slows it down even more. If i leave the gas pedal it goes up gradually by itself....if i stop and take out the battery terminal or allow it to cool down for some minutes it will start driving fine.. No check engine light... No scan codes.. What could be the culprit please ? |
