The abduction syndicate tormenting sections of Oyo state, particularly in and around Jabata village in Ogbomoso and Iganna in the Iwajowa local axis, have been caught and paraded by the Oyo state Police Command. Among the parading suspects were the alleged kidnappers of Dr. AbdulRasheed Oladoye and Christopher Taiwo Bakare on the 16th and 22nd of July at Jabata and Gbede villages via Ogbomoso axis, respectively. Report reaching newsarena.ng says Hausa and Yoruba people have clashed on Sunday in Ibadan South West Local Government Area of Oyo State, and at least one death has been allegedly recorded. According to report, disorder erupted after Mufutau Sanni, a lottery kiosk operator known as Baba Ijebu, was reportedly died after suffering injuries while attempting to break up a brawl between a Hausa man and his Yoruba counterpart on MKO Abiola Way. Seventy-four new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Ekiti State. In an effort to address serious issues affecting the school, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Governor of Oyo State Engineer Seyi Makinde recently met with key stakeholders. Representatives of the Alumni body, the LAUTECH governing council, the Ogbomoso community, and representatives of the state’s Ministry of Education were present at the meeting, which was held at the Presidenrial Lodge of the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan. Nigeria's Super star, Asisat Oshoala has won the 2022 African Women player of the year award. The Super Falcons forward was handed the award at the 2022 Confederation of Africa football, CAF Awards ceremony held in Rabat, Morocco. With this, Oshoala became the first African to win the prestigious award for a record five times, overtaking fellow country woman, Perpetua Nkwocha who claimed the accolade on four occasions. Some witnesses who preferred not to be mentioned have narrated how two suspected thieves were burnt to death by angry mob at under-brigde, Akobo, Ibadan. Witness account revealed that the two unlucky thieves on Wednesday, 20th July, 2022 robbed a commercial motorcyclist of his bike within the area and tried to escape with the motorcycle. The witness also explained that suspects were later caught after they made attempts to run and shot at their chasers.
