If I understand you clearly boss, you selected 6 months as your duration of stay for Chancenkarte and uploaded a BA for 6 months, yet the embassy asked you to upload 1 year BA? Not that you selected 1 year duration of stay and uploaded 6 months BA? This means they're not issuing the visa for 6 months in Nigeria.

If the above is true then the embassy is contradicting itself. Someone here attached a mail from the German embassy in Lagos where they confirmed the 6 months stuff themselves.

I actually plan on helping a friend in Naija with 6 months blocked account, that's why I'm even here following the thread cos na UK I dey. Anyways, I am not surprised, those guys can be funny at times.

They didn’t respond to me in real time on my application portal. Instead, I received an email informing me that my application would be deleted because I couldn’t prove my means of sustenance. They also mentioned that they tried to reach me by phone, but I never received any calls. I wonder why an email wasn’t sent earlier as a follow-up.
Note; my phone is never off and I’m a postpaid customer with mtn, it was stated that my number has been barred... - i immediately told everyone around me to dial my number Lol.

I never received any email since I uploaded my documents in March since joining the wait list. I only discovered documents had been requested because I made it a habit to check the portal at least three times a day. At no point have I received any email notification or prompt from them but it was easy to get a deletion email without any update.

Now, I can no longer access my application. I realize I should have gone ahead to deposit the funds without waiting for their feedback on the calculation of the difference.

In any case, I have already called and sent several emails. When I called, I was advised to send an email instead. I am still waiting for a response.

It was also stated that I should register again.

I URGE YOU GUYS TO LEARN FROM THIS!!!

I just got to Germany using the opportunity card, POE was very smmoth, immigration officer did not ask for any documents ,just a simple question if its my first time in Germany and I affirmed to it.

Pls, can someone highlights the steps and required documents to register in local authority.

@Hannania please I need to register my address at the Residents Affairs and part of the documents requested are

original civil status documents (e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate, name declaration)

and, if necessary additionally
Proof of the authenticity of the document in the form of legalization or apostille
Translation by a sworn interpreter

My question is does the document has to be translated and notarized, if yes can you advise how to go about it , or link me with someone to legalize the documents.

The physical appointment did not go bad. Only downside is that I had to wait 6 hours before my interview so I was very very exhausted and had a hard time going through the interview. Regardless I think it went well.

- Go with all your original documents according to the list that will be provided after the preliminary review.
- Make sure you take a passport according to the german visa passport requirements.
- You can pay for the visa by cash or card(via a pos there). If you're paying cash, make sure that its in denominations of 500 and 1000 naira notes. Other denominations will be rejected. It's safer to go with a card.
- You wont be allowed in with your bag so just come with the file containing your documents. Your phone will also be turned off and put in a locker so be mentally prepared.
- Be ready to walk them through your work experience.

Again, make sure all your documents are complete and are original copies.

When i got to the end of my waiting period, I was indeed asked to submit for preliminary review but I'm not sure if i was able to edit before submission. I think its safer to leave the application as is because while in preliminary review, you'll get emails if they need you to change a document or correct something in which case you'll have the opportunity to make corrections. Good luck guys and wish me luck.

Also, take a prepaid envelope with you as that is what they'll use to send your documents and passport back to you. You can get one at a DHL outlet. Just tell them what you want to do and you'll be given a form to fill. Please call to confirm which outlet gives out those envelopes as not all of them do.

Please let's state the date we join the waitlist so as to know the date the embassy stopped for the submission for the preliminary review. The embassy last Friday asked those who joined March 5th to submit for preliminary review and March 6th applicants are still on the waitlist, which means they stopped at March 5th. So let's state when we submit to join the waitlist. I joined March 20th, please state yours.

Future date. You only get stamped date if your intended date has passed. They sometimes call or email you to ask for your new preferred date if your chosen date has passed

The date will begin from the very day your visa is stamped at the embassy regardless of what you imputed if the date has passed. If it is ahead, they'll stick to it.

It's not consistent. The system automatically updates the waiting time based on registrations and how many applications have been processed. This same week, it was showing 2 to 6 months. There was a time last month when it was 6 to 12 months too, but went back to 2 to 6 months

Omo, omo. Apparently one doesn't need a full year of Blocked account money to apply for Chancenkarte. Half of it is now enough.
