I was asked at the interview if I had learnt any German and I said no, until I get visa. Wasn't an issue, got the visa. It'll only be a problem if German is a requirement for jobs in your field

Good morning everyone, I joined waiting list last year October 29 almost 3 months now and hopefully I will be ask to submit my application in next 3 to 4 months.
My question now:
1.is German language necessary for Visa?
2. Does the language increase the chances of getting Visa?
3. Do they ask for it at interview stage?


Although I started learning A1 on my own which is not enough so I planned to register with language school for A1 to A2 but my busy schedules make it a bit challenging but I don't mimd dropping some of my activities if all the above Questions are Yes.

Haven't got one and wasn't asked for one. Just the senior WAEC.

It's junior WAEC certificate and seeing as you do not know what it means, I'm assuming it's not one of the documents you were asked to submit?

In any case, for my missing documents (WAEC cert and 1st degree cert), I had scanned copies of the originals, however I still contacted WAEC and my Alma Mater to get replacement copies

Please everyone waiting for a decision at the embassy should always check their email inbox and spam. I opened my mail today and saw an email from the embassy in my spam, and they asked that I come for a second interview. My first interview was about three weeks ago. has anyone experience this?

the email you received doesn't sound like any I have received so far + it states "long term visa". we applied for chancenkarten- opportunity card visa, so we may not be dealing with same thing. that said, if while you were applying, you have been expressly asked to supply BA/SL, I do not reckon you will scale through without one. that said, I am not a staff of the german consulate, so you can of course try and see. Viel Erfolg!

retain permanent residency outside Germany: now that's a tricky one, my response was yes, cos I aint bout to give up my residence for a place I am not sure of
answered yes for health insurance, but I purchased it after I picked an interview date.
I used the city I intended to stay in + a random postcode in same city
For the dates, just choose a close estimate to when you can actually go if you get the visa.

-you purchase your self addressed envelope from dhl or ups
- your photo is the right size
- your documents(everything you uploaded)are original, no need for copies.
- you get there early if you wanna leave early too. although the queue for national visa is not as long seeing as school has started already.
-you have cash (1,000NGN notes only) or bank naira card for visa fee payment.
-you know the basics of your profession/field of study cos you may be tested.
-you keep your bag @ home or in your car, cos you will not be allowed to even stand on the queue with a bag. just have the things you need in your hands or in an envelope/folder
- phones are switched off while on the queue(they will check), and leaving the queue can be detrimental, so conclude all phone matters before getting there
-never mind the harshness of them people at the gate, do not let it frazzle you. just listen to their instructions, follow it and communicate boldly and eloquently.

I do not have a primary school cert (didn't do 6yrs), just a letter issued by my primary school. That is what I uploaded and I was not asked for anything else with regards to primary school.

Primary School Cert Help out: I have tried severally to reach out to primary education board, this subeb but failed(even their website number unreachable). I live far way from the place/state of my primary education those days(more than 15years ago). Any idea on the way forward:

1. Any useful experience on getting the primary school proof without traveling to the place/LGA?
2. Can anyone assist with a any primary board resource contact anywhere who may be able to link up?
3. Has any one successfully be accepted after preliminary review without primary school cert but with at least WAEC?

I transferred twice, so yea that's possible on expatrio. Just edit the amount and input the figure you are sending.

Downloaded and registered on the cardremit app as you suggested. But I can see I have a daily limit that won't allow transfer of the BA funds all at once. Were you faced with this and how did you find a way around it? And also is it possible I transfer to my BA twice and Expatrio will accept?
And please how did you verify proof of address. It has declined everything I uploaded.

For now, no. You can choose the latest available date. About a week before the interview, you can email them with your preferred date. In my case, I rescheduled my interview for two weeks earlier, and they responded with a new confirmation. I must say, Germany is the most transparent country I’ve experienced when it comes to visa applications.

hello all!
so I am to choose an appointment date now, however the date I would be available to attend the interview is not showing up yet on the portal. it appears it only shows dates within a 4 weeks time frame, so if my calculation is correct, then the date i require will be bookable by next week. My question is, is there a deadline for picking appointment date?Like will my application be deleted if I don't pick an appointment date within a certain period of time? any idea @hannania? or anyone else?

I was required to upload the confirmation of blocked funds amongst a few other documents, so I'm guessing they will review and confirm 🤷🏾‍♀️
