Ebola is the ultimate biological agent/ weapon. U.S. military have been pumping funds into its research for a number of reasons. First, I think is to be prepared and have a cure before any terrorist organization can use it against them, second is to develop an aerosolized version that can be disseminated faster than this current strain as the ultimate weapon. In between might be academic purpose too.

Just one case came into the country and 6 healthworkers are affected already! Its saying something about our practice here.

That resident doctors earn as little as 45k in US unlike here in Nigeria that they want to earn more than their employers. That it takes them years to pay the student loan + interest. That they also pay heavy malpractice insurance unlike nurses. So all those are considered when issues about salaries are handled in US. here, Drs go to school wnd pay same fee with others, yet they want to earn like US Drs .

1.As much as I don't like comparing pay abroad with that of Nigeria seeing that several factors comes into play...the residents salary abroad is still higher than the consultants' here.
2. Doctors don't pay the same school fees as others in Nigeria and nobody is suggesting they want to be paid like US doctors... You guys can't afford it.

splasher: DOCTORS AGAIN-You can be a called a doctor in two ways 1. By Nomenclature. Anybody who cares for a patient and is suitably qualified to care for that patient. eg medical doctors, nurses, pharmacist, medical scientist,optometrists, dentist etc provided you care for a patient. This is the dictionary definition. 2. By qualification. When your certificate carries an appellation of DOCTOR by a recognized institution. By this our medical boctors have no right to call themselves doctors since their certificate carries the appellation Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery. The word DOCTOR comes from the root word teacher, this means you must have been proven to have a doctrine(by the way of a thesis). Our present medical doctors do not carry out a research thesis before graduation so CANNOT BE CALLED DOCTORS by qualification, unlike in the US where they award MD. Why all this story? There is nothing special about medical doctors that make them think that other professions must be downgraded because the government positioned them as the leader of the health care team. Methink because if this appellation called DOCTOR that makes them think they are special. Since they are doctors by nomenclature, pharmacists, medlab, nurses etc can be called doctors and deserve the same recognition as our dear medical doctors. Only Optometrists and pharmacists(UNIBEN) are doctors by qualification and nomenclature.

Impressive CV! Changed my opinion of him a bit. Though all the claims have to be verified given our politicians knack for forgery, still it looks really good.
