O boy 2013 post making fp in 2017 na wa. Anyway if it was that bad I'm sure the effects would have been noticed by now given the amount of the stuff some Nigerian kids consume on a daily basis.

By now every Nigerian on social media knows about the Malaysia-based Nigerian big boy hushpuppi and his supposed grass to grace story. And as such he has become an inspiration to many youths but his pagentary is absolutely unnecessary.

I mean sure sure it's okay to show off once in a while but the new breed of social media addicts who derive all their feeling of self-with from social media is appalling. Bobrisky, Tonto and hushpuppi top the list of people I call "wallowists". They lead extremely shallow lives trying to impress an audience most of which hide behind keyboards and touchscreens to dish out judgment on all based on how they feel at a particular time. Say for instance the rage at the moment is Gucci, the wallowists clam our for the next Gucci attire to feed their followers and attain temporary self actualization but if tomorrow it's D&G and their unable to keep up their very followers will turn their scathing tongues on them. Thus the wallowists are stuck in a rat race constantly trying to please their followers. The danger here of course is that one often drifts off from his personality, his likes and dislikes to live a virtual life dictated to him/her by the followers he seems to lead or mentor.

A rich boy follows the norms and plays by the rules but does not depend on public opinion to live his life. That's the first step to true maturity and independence. You please people when you can but you can't sacrifice your life for others,if you make money you use it in a manner that makes you happy and I mean truly happy not trying to play a role to gain the approval of potential internet trolls who will often go as far as criticizing people to get a bit of popularity or should I say notoriety.

Some celebrities have actually left social media because of trolls. The lesson here is that only mentally poor people vie for attention and validation from people they don't even really know. The number of likes on your post does not make or break you. Today it's Gucci, tomorrow it might be aso-oke.
