NOAH GAZE AROUND.... HIS EYES SCANNING EVERYWHERE..... Everyone was sitting comfortably on a round table... Dressed fashionably like it was a fashion competition.... He lour his eyes at the clothes he was wearing... Though his father had selected the clothes for him but he stil feels his dressing wasn't anything compared to others.... He stare at Leonard... He was nicely dress on expensive outfit.... He jut his chin cursing himself why he came.....

They move farther heading towards the glass hall... The place was filled with different categories of people.. The black.. The white...... The glass hall was an exquisite sight to behold.... It was big.. Fabulously designed and built.... He insutilate wondering who the celebrant was that will make so many people graced his birthday party.... Whoever he is.. He must be extremely weathy.... His inner mind beep... Sending warning to his head.. Reminding him he doesn't belong here... This wasn't the kind of place people of his class should go to....

They stood... Watching... Shayna hand in Leonard a few gap from him.... He wonder if they'd completely forgotten he was standing right beside them....

With a huff he tuck in his hands into his pockets......
It wasn't long before a young boy on suit approached them... He welcomed them.... Urshered them in.... And showed them a vacnat seat to sit.......

It was six chairs on a round glass table and they were only three there....
Without anyone telling him.. He quickly sat a chair away from from them..... He took a deep breathe as Leonard drew the chair out for Shayna to sit... Their eyes met then he quickly turn away his gaze.....

He insutilate sucking in all the air he can get then he placed his hand on the glass table......
The hall was beautifully decorated.... A large screen hung on the wall on the far end of the hall..... It was large enough that even people at the very back were able to see the images on it......

A picture of someone, probably the celebrant and a happy birthday text was displayed on the screen.....

"Is he the one....? Leonard ask pointing at the nicely dressed person on the screen....

"Yes.... "Shayna replied with clenched teeth....

Leonard knit his brows as he kept thinking the worst of him.. What made him invite her to his birthday party was the question that keep resounding in his head...... He recall Shayna telling him they've only met once........

Noah gritted... His eyes groomed around..... His inner mind persistently reminding him that the whole place was filled with people of class.... He doesn't belong here.....

"Drinks...... "

His thoughts were interrupted by the waiter standing in front of him... He was dress on black trouser... A white sleeve neatly tuck in and a tie to match it.... In his hands.. He held a tray of glass filled with drinks.....

Noah shook his head.... Then he caught Shayna gaze.... Just then he knew the drink will go a long way occupying his thoughts... Without hesitation... He carried one glass from the tray....

"Cocktail...... "He muttered as he sip it... His eyes fixated on the glass in his hand....

"We'll have two glasses....... "Leonard said....

Heartrenting.... Noah took another sip fighting the thoughts of Shayna away.... But the more he tries the more it keeps sinking in.. Overwhelming him..... The enormity of his feelings raging through him like a fire that even a dam of water can't quench... It lick through him overclouding every bone and muscles in him.........

Mrs Lemuel pick up her phone.. She was inclined to call her husband.. Tell him he found out things about their daughter...dangerous things and a dangerous person trying to stop her...

She drop the phone back on the chair.... She didn't want to bother him.. To make him worry....

The thought of her daughter in danger wherever she is wrecked tears on her cheek.... She wonder who don't want her to see her daughter and why....

Max pace around in the room.... He kept wondering why Aunt Rebecca wasn't back.... The thought of someone taking her because he came to her house sent shivers down his spine... He shuddered greatly at the thought of it... His whole body waving with fear..... Terror overwhelming him.....

He quivered... His heart almost bursting out as a knock came on the door.....

His pursurers must probably be on his lead by now.... Could they have taken aunt Rebecca.......?

Heart pulsating... He ran to the kitchen.... With shaking hands.. He pick a knife from the spoons storage....
Slowly.. Feets trembling.. Adrenaline wrecking through him.... He took one step at a time.. Not making a sound.. The knife firmly in his grib.... The pros and cons of how he is going to fight with the knifes if they are who he thinks bubbling in his heart.....

His heart raced speedily.... He breathe heavily....

"Max...... "Aunt Rebecca shouted from outside...

He sigh..... A sigh of relief.. Catching his own breathe.. He walked to the door.. Then slowly he opened it....

Aunt Rebecca bug her eyes at him then she quickly walked in... Without hesitation.. Max locked the door.......

Inhaling deeply he said.... "Why didn't you follow the signal.....?

"I forgot.... "Aunt Rebecca said with shrugged shoulders....

"So what did you find out...? He ask shapily calming his nerves... Sweat gleaning down from his brow....

She exhales.. Recalling the information......."Not much but i heard before your father went missing.. A girl was brought in... The girl was sick and she needed blood transfusion.....

"And....! Max scurred when she paused...

"It seems the blood of her parent didnt match with hers.... "She exhales hands behind her..... "The next day your father didn't show up to work... Even the nurse that was with him during the treatment of the girl has also gone missing..... "

Max scoffs... A layer of shock etched on his face... "That's absurd... How can one goes missing because his patient blood didn't match with her parents.....

"Am not sure if that's the truth anyway... Is just a rumour going around in the hospital... Your father nor the nurse isn't there to confirm it......

"Do you think they were taken by the girl's parent.......? Max ask anxiously.... Not wanting to believe it....

Noah stare away as Leonard and Shayna giggled laughing and teasing each other.... He just sat on his own like he didn't come with them.... Staring at passerbys... Envying people's dressing.. Their expensive clothes...their different fragrance of perfume sniffing it's way into his nose....

On the far end of the hall... Light music was played... The kind that will reinforce the memories that has eluded you.... He sink into his own thoughts... Their giggling sending tremors to him.... He took a deep breathe and told himself to be foucus... Forget her... She belong to his friend now....

With those thoughts he look at the big screen... He saw the celebrant face... Then he lour his eyes down.... Surprise overwhelmed him when he saw the celebrant a few pace away from them... Exchanging handshake with people....... To his utmost surprise tinge with shock.. The celebrant began to come their way.....

His eyes on him.. He watch as he came closer... Then closer and closer closing the distance between them until he was finally there......

"Hi......... "Mike said...

His voice drag Shayna and Leonard's attention to him....

Noah suck his teeth.... His eyes drooling on his dressing... He was nicely dressed on suit... Had an impeccable accent....his hair was curled....

"Am afraid you will not show up....."He said with a smile on his face facing Shayna...... "Am glad you came..... "

"Happy birthday..... "Shayna muttered with a fake smile....

"Thank you.... "

Shayna huff as she noticed Mike's eyes were staring at Leonard and Noah....... "This are my friends...... "

Leonard's heart sanked... The word friends resounding in his ears.... Not believing she just introduced him as a friend.. Was that what he is to her... A friend......

Shayna gave Noah a hard glance... Then she quickly turn her gaze away..... "That's Noah.... "She said pointing to him..... "And this is Leonard... My.......

"Am the man in her life..... "Leonard cut in impetuously.... Exasperation in his voice... His eyes fixated on Mike....

Shayna felt abashed.. Wondering why he will do such a stupid thing.. She was about introducing him as her boyfriend....

Mike swallowed hard.. Then he smiled again.... "It's really cool meeting you...."He pout...... "Leonard... "he stretched his hand for a handshake....

Leonard hesitated a bit.... Then he took his hands... A slight handshake and he pulled away....

"I hope you enjoy the party... Just beckon on the waiters if you need anything..... "....he gave Shayna a seductive smile and left them.. Walking towards his friend....

He squeaked.....fingers propelling..... Their eyes met again.... She was trouble.. She pushed all his buttoms... Sending him to the deepest part of an inner oneself estacy..............he took a deep breathe weighing the pros and cons of what he was about to say... How stupid it will sound but he have to say it... He needs to give himself some minutes... Away from her.. From the thoughts that tends to devour him...... "I..... I..... Astounded... Pious watched as Carlos thug... Ted pulled off a rug and open the hatch..a doorway.... that the rug covered.. He saw the staircase to go down.... It was a bloody underground....

"Come down..... "Carlos said...

He sigh... His men armed with guns were outside... Carlos knew that so he wouldn't think of messing with him....

With these thoughts... He slowly climb down..taking a step at a time......
As he came down.... Shock lick through him as he saw chains... He look ahead then he saw two people chained with the chains........

"What is this Chief... I was expecting something pleasant... Not some perks in a bloody underground........"

Carlos stood when he was down..... "Actually this wasn't a surprise.... I needed your advice.... "

Slowly..... Edna and Sonia raise their head when they heard the monster's voice.....

Heartpounding.... Ribs cracking... Pious caught sight of her.... His whole body flushed with shock.... A big layer of surprise wrecked his face.....

Pious couldn't breathe.... Anger surged through him... Then he caught Carlos glance at him.... Just then he registered this was a test......

"Pious...... "Edna muttered again....

Heart pulsating.....an extreme feeling of anger engulfed him.... He was about to rush to her when she was about coming to him... But the chains pulled her back.....

"Mr Carter.... You seem tense..... Are you okay.......? Carlos ask with a wry taunting smile

And he was at the verge of loosing it all... the pretense... all he could feel now was anger... to pounce on him and kill him right where he stood..... he look away not wanting to meet his mother's eyes.....
The stench of the fuel sniff it's way into his nose......

"Bastard........ Murderer...... "Sonia shouted as Ted pour the fuel in Edna's body...

"Mr Carter.... Am really thankful for this advice of yours...... "He said with a smile....then he turn to face Ted who quickly brought out a lighter.....

"Lit her up on the countdown of three.........

Heartrenting...... Muscles burging their way out.. Eyes filled with rage.... Pious watch....

With a taunting smile Carlos started counting.......... "Three...............

Pious couldn't control it.... Couldn't wave the anger away..... A layer of tear formed in his eye.....

"Two........ "

Pious folded his fist..... Damn pretense........ This was his mother not a bargaining card..... He was prepared to latched it out..... Prepare to lose it all and call it a battle to the dead......

Carlos grunts...... His eyes staring at the lighter in Ted hands......... With a taunting evil smile.... He said........ "ONE"

It wasn't long before Jacob and Jasmine arrived at the chief's company....
For a moment they just stood in front of the gate....the big billboard saying Mbogos zincs.....

The place was big... Well furnished.... Well blazed....

"He said after a second of accessing her....

She made a faint smile that quickly rushed it's way back to frown...... She insutilate again sucking in all the air she can get hoping this wasn't a mistake she was making....... "Shall we.... ?she ask putting her purse in her armpit.....

"Of course..... "He replied with a huff...

They both strolled together... Jacob's eyes glooming everywhere at the building.... The zincs scrambled everywhere will probably tell anyone they deal on zincs... Different types..... If the chief owns this place he must be extremely rich......

He followed as Jasmine walked up to the secretary...... Some boys sitting on a long chair in a corner......
Jacob quickly stop leaving her to continue with the rest of it....

With a frown that turned into a fake smile when she got to the secretary's desk...... "Hi..... "She said... Her lips quivering....

The secretary threw her a glance..... "Chief is in a meeting... You can't go in.... "She said callously..... Irritation in her tone...

The secretary rolled her eyes at her....... "Am sorry i don't know when the chief will be through with his meeting so please madam if you intend on waiting... You can join the queue...... "She said pointing at the people sitting there....

Jasmine look to where she was pointing..... Then she turn to face her again..... "Bae... You nor fit do some magomago mak me be the first to see chief..... "

"We don't know that for sure....... I mean we don't know if Manny was really blackmailing him... Calling him is the only way you can find out....

"What if Chief com set me up....?she cut in...

She swallowed hard then placed her purse on her armpit....."Okay.. Mak i explain... I call chief.. He com pretend say manny nor blackmail amm wen manny blackmail amm.... We come fix hotel.. I dress up.. Wear my high heel go the room.... I reach there only for me to see grabbys... What if dey com grab me... Na wetin i go do......?

Jacob shrugged.... "Well we pray it never comes to that... Moreover you agreed to help despite knowing the risk.....

"You are not going to die... So just place the call to him... Tell him you want to meet..... "

Jasmine grunts... Then she pick up her phone from her purse... She search for the chief's number.... She hesitated a bit.. Thinking of what will become the outcome of the call....... She took a deep breathe then she called the number.....

Heartrenting she waited for him to answer.... To her surprise he answered.......

"My rosey baby..... "The chief's crocked voice muttered from the phone....

Jasmine exhales.. Calming her nerves...... "Chief chief.... "She quickly followed up.....

They continue talking until the call ended......
She took a deep breathe when the call finally ended.....

"It seems our secretary was lying.... The chief is in no meeting...... "Jacob said as she drop the phone..... "So where did he say he will be meeting you.....?

"At Cruzzers hotel...... "She said with clenched teeth....

Infuriated Mary walked out of the police station....she was right when she told Sharon the police was the last place to go.... Today the DPO wasn't here to irritate her... The policemen at the counter did a good job at that....

She knew it will be a waste of time coming to the station.. And it really was a waste of time... They don't believe Manny is missing.. They don't believe the message whoever the bastard is sent... They keep asking her stupid questions... She got infuriated at the least of it...
