In Oyo, the APC is expected to win while in Benue ,other more substantive and well established politicians are rooting for Atiku while the neophyte Orton continues his follow-follow agenda to oblivion. In Enugu and Abia, Obi will win with or without the two irrelevant governors . In Rivers, the established PDP structure can not be cowed by one drunk in govt house. Wike thinking he can sway the elections in Rivers to Tinubu with Atiku on ground and the nuisance of the DisObidient is a pipe dream.

The G5 know they have nothing as permutations stand to singlehandedly call the elections in their respective states and they know Atiku's camp knows this.

This is where it gets interesting because for the likes of Wike to remain relevant after an Atiku win , they will have to transform themselves from failed king makers to usurpers by challenging the outcome of the elections.

The next future stage of Wike's fading relevance is to head to court and squander Rivers state resources challenging the emergence of Atiku either by filing a suit or joining the likes of Obi and Tinubu's legal suit.

But this will be an upheaval task that may only result to another run off at best as no court has set aside a presidential election since June 12 , 1994 and no jurist will want to go down that road either.

By forcing a southern candidate on Buhari and the APC, Buhari has no horse in the race and as such has become indifferent to who his successor will be which we can all see with Buharis refusal tojoin Tinubu on his campaign trail.

The north is thus using Tinubu on Buhari just as Shehu Yaradua used MKO to get IBB to agree to a transition. The senior Yaradua will later open up in his book to say that they only (northern power brokers) supported a transition and MKO to get rid of IBB.

By deploying Yaradua 2.0, the north insisted on Shettima as Tinubu's VP knowing fully well that Tinubu's health or any other extra constitutional means (use your imagination) can then be used to get the highly unelectable Shettima into Aso Rock just as Obasanjo snuck GEJ into power.

It is for this reasons that no one should underestimate Tinubu winning northern states as northern governors, legislators and politicians who have benefited from Tinubu's support will surely benefit financially by campaigning for him as they are doing now. This will not only clear their conscience on reciprocating Tinubu's past support but also a major cash out for them. And when you consider that Tinubu can be disposed off anytime after he has been sworn in for their Boko Shettima, you now get to see how the north is playing 5D chess in this game.
