Real Madrid players such as isco and Lucas Vazquez exploded in anger after being asked about their controversial Champions League win against Juventus, and now Sergio Ramos has become the newest player to add to the argument. After their 3-1 victory over Malaga, Ramos underwent anti-doping control, while the rest of his team boarded the team bus to head to the airport. The captain left the Estadio La Rosaleda an hour later and on his way to his car was approached by a journalist, who asked if he agreed that an antimadridismo campaign has spread in recent days. Ramos answered with a resounding yes and did not give any more explanations. A simple yes that summed up the feelings of a squad that is fed up with the latest comments against Los Blancos. He’s become the latest to join the campaign Real Madrid has launched against this wave of criticism. Replacing Neymar was always going to be a difficult task, and those in charge at the Camp Nou elected to reinvest the money by signing Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane h Dembele, however, as their debut campaigns in Catalonia near an end, there are five key differences between the pair. B oth players have had mixed fortunes since arriving in Spain; Dembele has been struck by a serious knee injury, whilst the Brazilian has found minutes difficult to come by due to Ernesto Valverde’s aversion to rotation. For one of the two players there are serious doubts about the signing and whether or not it was made too early, and with the other there is a sense that the 2018/19 campaign will truly see him shine with the Blaugrana. Footballers aren’t in for the money. No, no – they’re all there to taste the glory of winning, the joy of lifting shiny trophies at the end of a season of toil and trauma. But there are some outstanding players who never tasted the tang of metal, or the fizz of warm champagne – neither for their club nor country, at any level. We’ve used quite strict criteria here. Despite racking up individual honours, this select group have never won anything with their clubs – including cups and league titles lower down the football pyramid. Antonio Di Natale.. For a few years, late-bloomer Di Natale was one of the leading lights of Serie A – twice top scorer, and player of the year in 2010. Unfortunately, he played for Udinese and never even reached the final of a cup competition during his club career. It was a different story with Italy, where he was part of the squad which lost 4-0 to Spain in the showpiece event of Euro 2012.
