In a calculated attempt to tarnish the reputation of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Lere Olayinka, the self-styled Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, stormed News Central TV with a cocktail of lies, half-truths and shameless distortions. This desperate smear campaign demands a bold response to expose the true mastermind behind the political turbulence rocking Rivers State. Lere harped on the current situation of the Rivers State House of Assembly, highlighting the presence of only three (3) active members. Yet, he conveniently glossed over the real story of Martin Amaewhule and his co-defectors who cowardly abandoned their constituencies and their mandates by defecting to the APC without due consultation. These former legislators, by law, automatically vacated their seats, but Lere lacks the courage to admit this truth. When asked about Wike’s involvement in Rivers State’s political turmoil, Lere could not deny the undeniable. Wike is not only a major player in this crisis but also its architect. His meddlesome tendencies and attempts to control the state from Abuja have been met with stiff resistance from Rivers people who are fed up with his overreach. Lere’s claim that Wike elevated Governor Fubara from "a mere cashier" to governor reeks of pettiness. It’s an insult to Fubara’s track record of service and to the Rivers people who overwhelmingly voted for him. The truth is, Governor Fubara was instrumental to any success Wike claims during his time as governor, especially in financial prudence and project execution, Lere can challenge me to a debate if in doubt. Mr. Lere falsely accused Governor Fubara of disobeying President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The irony, however, is glaring. The real defiance came from those who President Tinubu called his "newborn babies," only to disown him days later. Aside the impeachment attempt, Wike’s ill-advised push for these individuals to defect to the APC is at the root of the political mess they currently face. Lere’s admission that Fubara is the governor and wields the "red biro" underscores one truth: GOV. SIM FUBARA IS IN CHARGE. While his employer may attempt to pull the strings of discord, Rivers people have declared unequivocally that the era of external interference is over. Sir Fubara is taking bold steps to restore dignity and prioritize the state’s interests. Also, Lere’s attempt to draw parallels between Rivers State and Kogi State only highlights his lack of understanding of Rivers politics. Rivers people are not Kogi people. They will not accept a situation where commissioners or key appointments are dictated from only one man, as Wike attempted to do. Rivers people have spoken, and their stance is non-negotiable. Lere’s laughable claim that Governor Fubara is dining with those who opposed his emergence shows a lack of political depth. Almost everyone standing with Wike today—including Magnus Abe and Chidi Lloyd—at one time opposed his own governorship bid. Politics evolves and alliances shift. Governor Fubara is focused on governance, not on petty vendettas. Assuming, without conceding, that Governor Fubara did not address Rivers people during the campaign, the blame lies squarely on Wike, who perhaps never allowed him to speak. He almost succeeded in extending this overbearing tendencies into the governance of the state, but Rivers people are saying “No” to this meddlesome interference. The glaring contradictions in Lere’s rhetoric can tell you why Fayose failed woefully in Ekiti State despite all his noise. Just like his principal, Lere has mastered the art of bluster without substance. When pressed on what Wike wants from Governor Fubara that he isn’t getting, Lere could not provide an answer. The truth is simple: Wike desires absolute control, but Gov. Fubara and Rivers people have drawn the line. Lere Olayinka’s interview on News Central TV was nothing but a desperate attempt to deflect attention from Wike’s political blunders and meddlesome tendencies. The records are clear: Governor Sim Fubara is focused on the interests of Rivers people, while Wike and his cronies remain trapped in a web of personal ambition. The good news is that Rivers people know the truth. Governor Fubara is acting decisively and Rivers State is moving forward under his leadership. No amount of propaganda or falsehoods can change this fact. John Martins®️ Wednesday, 22 January, 2025

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (F.C.T) is clearly having sleepless nights. His frustration with the internal politics of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) is spilling into the public domain, and this time, the stakes are fatally high. At the heart of the drama is the landmark judgment from the Rivers State High Court, which nullified the purported PDP ward, local government, and state congresses. This ruling effectively cleared the path for the Hon Nname Robinson Ewor-led executive to take charge. But here’s the catch: only the PDP National Working Committee through the National Legal Adviser, as a party to the suit, has the legal standing to appeal this decision. Aaron Chukwuemeka, a known ally of the minister and an eager player in this unfolding drama, has no legal basis to wade into the matter—he wasn’t even a party to the suit. This legal technicality has left the minister scrambling for relevance as his influence over the PDP National Working Committee wanes. And now, the Minister finds himself in a tight spot. His grip on the PDP’s internal politics appears to be slipping, and with this latest court ruling, his political strategy seems to be unraveling faster than he can salvage it. It’s no surprise, then, that his recent lamentations have taken on a tone of desperation. What else could one expect? The cracks in his political fortress have widened, leaving him to confront an uncomfortable reality: the structures are fast collapsing. Fear #AI Politics.. John Martins®️ Monday, 20 January, 2025. ...Lauds President Tinubu over commitment towards upkeep of Armed Forces Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 pledged the release of N50Million as his administration support to widows of Nigeria fallen heroes on a note that no amount given by the nation can pay for the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives to preserve the country for the living. Gov. Fubara, who addressed guests, legionnaires and members of the armed forces, who gathered for the occasion of 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day at the Government House Parade Ground, said the money will enable the widows handle pressing issues such as school fees, house rents and support their businesses and as part of his administration's social welfare. He said the ceremony is to reflect on and celebrate the bravery of veterans, whose dedication safeguarded the nation's territorial integrity and preserved its sovereignty. The governor, who highlighted the past and present security challenges in the country including internal threats from terrorism and armed insurgency, commended the armed forces for standing firm and defending the country. He observed that despite the ongoing ceremony, many servicemen and women remained on the front lines, courageously combating insurgencies and other threats to security. He said such ensuing battles came with tremendous cost as thousands of soldiers had paid the supreme price, and many others returned with life-altering injuries The governor noted that only the brave could forsake the comfort of family and home to protect the lives and freedom of millions adding that without their heroism, the country would not continue to enjoy peace and freedom. Sir Fubara commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts in prioritising the welfare of the Nigerian Armed Forces and pledged his loyalty, support and collaboration. In a solemn speech Gov. Fubara asserted: "But beyond our words of tribute, this day reminds us of our responsibility towards you and your families, especially the widows, children, and aged parents left behind by those who made the ultimate sacrifice." He added that, "As a government, we remain committed to the welfare and well-being of the Nigerian armed forces, both serving and retired, and their families"; emphasizing that in Rivers State, his government has fulfilled past promises made to the Nigerian Legion, and assured of his commitment to implement targeted policies and programs in order to improve their living conditions." He said, "We will prioritize the inclusion of families of our fallen heroes in our social welfare and investment programmes", and used the occasion to call on well-meaning citizens and private organizations to extend their support to the families of the veterans and fallen heroes in order to help them overcome the economic challenges they often face. According to him, "The peace and security of our nation remain a collective responsibility. Let us all work together to support our armed forces and security agencies in overcoming the challenges we face and ensuring that every corner of our country is peaceful and secure." Gov. Fubara further called on the citizens to rally around the armed forces and work together to strengthen the national unity, adding that there must be concerted efforts to ensure that every section of the country feels included and valued, fostering a stronger and more cohesive Nigeria. "I won't end this address without remembering the widows of the fallen heroes. To that effect I on behalf of the government and the good people of Rivers State pledge the sum of N50million solely for the welfare of the widows. "This sum shall be redeemed tomorrow to enable them handle pressing issues such as school fees, house rents, and also support their businesses as well as other sundry matters. It is our modest way of appreciating the sacrifices made by their departed ones". Gov. Fubara also used the occasion to pay tribute to an expatriate, Mr. Gibson Reuben, Managing Director of Rivers State Cassava Project Limited who lost his life on Monday in an accident at a bridge in Eleme section of the East- West road. In his remarks, the Acting State Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Rivers State chapter, ACC Kuu Promise, thanked Gov. Fubara for sponsoring the occasion and supporting the welfare of veterans in the State describing the governor's gestures as major lifeline of livelihood and sustenance of their children in schools. Promise appealed to the governor to assist legionnaires in locating their office within the Isaac Boro Park Military Cenotaph, the memorial ground where the fallen heroes are honoured annually. -* Miracle Jaja - Gist Report

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has hailed the emergence of a former lawmaker representing Rivers East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator John Azuta Mbata, as the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. Governor Fubara said that the frontline politician's victory at the poll in Enugu, on Friday, is a testament to his wide acceptance across the aisle as an accomplished Nigerian, whose test of character and integrity is exemplary. He said that the overwhelming votes of the delegates show the implicit confidence of members of the socio-cultural organisation in his ability to provide needed leadership to move the Ohanaeze Ndigbo forward at this time. Governor Fubara, therefore, extended his best wishes to Senator Mbata, and expressed the hope that he will succeed as he discharges the lofty duties of furthering national cohesion, and fostering friendly cooperation based on mutual trust and respect within the Igbos and among non-Igbos. "On behalf of the government and the good people of Rivers State, I once again congratulate you and assure you of our readiness to work with you towards maintaining and preserving national unity and cohesion", Governor Fubara said. His Excellency, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has signed into law the 2025 Rivers State Appropriation Bill, totaling 1.1 trillion naira. Below are the statements of His Excellency as he signed into law the Appropriation Bill, tagged "Budget of Inclusive Growth & Development." "Let me first thank the Rivers State House of Assembly for doing a very diligent job and also realizing that what we have ahead of us is to continue to work for Rivers people. So, I want to thank you for working very, very hard and ensuring that we hit the ground running in this new year." "I want to say this, maybe for some persons somewhere who are still mixing up issues: we have only one Assembly, and that Assembly is headed by Rt. Hon. Victor Oko Jumbo. A group of friends about nine or ten months ago embarked on what they call a "Sinbad Journey." Halfway through the journey, while they were coasting, they realized they were entering into the den of devils and sharks. They now retrieved, but it is too late. The truth is, we are not going back. We have given enough room for peace. As it stands now, our majority target is the interest of Rivers State and to continue to defend the integrity of governance. As far as I’m concerned, we have moved on." "Let me thank everyone who made this possible. We made a promise to you that we would continue to keep the interests of Rivers State first. So now that this bill has been signed, I can assure you that every projection in it will be kickstarted so that the record of performance accorded to this administration in the year 2024 will be surpassed in this year." "Let me thank my management team, that is, my exco, for all the support, most especially my deputy and everyone—the Commissioner for Finance, Budget, and the acting Internal Revenue Chairman—for the wonderful job they did last year. We expect you to do more because we have a bigger task ahead of us." "We have made some promises to our people in education, health, and agriculture. We must ensure we make a good impact, just like we have done in the areas of road infrastructure and other aspects of the economy." "Let me, on this note, thank everyone and wish you a happy and prosperous New Year ahead as we continue the journey of making Rivers State great again." "Thank you." - John Martins®️ Thursday, 02 January, 2025

...To commence another round of commissioning in mid February Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has said his administration with assured backing from foremost political leaders will not allow any detractor take Rivers State for a ride going into 2025. Gov. Fubara addressing Rivers people at a New Year Day State Banquet in Government House, Port Harcourt, said he is confident that with his administration having earned the support of former Governor Peter Odili and other past Rivers political leaders of proven integrity and accomplishments, no detractor could stand on his way in taking the state to new heights in development. The governor said this year, "We will ensure we protect the integrity of this state, at all cost. We won't allow anybody take this state for a ride. It doesn't matter the approach I will use. It's not going to be a fight. "We will follow the issues as we did with the case when they (detractors) started begging. Imagine people who chanted 'on your mandate we stand', came back to say we're no longer there. Nothing will stop us from not achieving the purpose of governance in this state." Harping on his overwhelming support base, Gov.Fubara said, "We're not bothered about what they (opposition) will come with. God will always have a way to save us from them. They're going to come, but we are not worried. We're equal to the task. "I honestly thank our leaders, from Sir Dr. Peter Odili, Sir Celestine Omehia, Sen Mbata, Sir Austin Okpara, Prince Uche Secondus, Dr. Abiye Sekibo to others. According to him, "A lot of person wouldn't understand what is really happening. This is not to say we didn't have people that were with us and following us and fighting, but one of the troubles they (detractors) have where they're today is that they don't have any face with them. "The beginning and the end of politics in this state is Sir Dr. Peter Odili. And if he is sitting with us and with these other persons, who do they have with them? "This Dr. Odili is the right face and right image of our State. These are the frontiers of Rivers state. Men and women that have distinguished themselves are sitting with us. People who have contributed in several ways to make Rivers State what it is, not rented people they bring for dinner. In retrospect, Gov. Fubara captured the past year, 2024 as a paradox of daunting challenges but ended with his administration scoring more gains than losses. He explained, "2024 wasn't an easy year, but it was great for us in the end. About this time last year, we were in a not very pleasant mood, for fear of what might happen because of the boasting of those who believe they control life. Looking into 2025, he said, "We will continue to put our trust in God as 2024 has been a wonderful year. We had our losses, and our gains. But the most important thing is that our gains surpassed the losses. He further said, "We can boldly say 2024 was a good year for Rivers state and year 2025, with your support, we are going to build on the gains of last year. "We will continue to protect the lives of our people and provide the required services in our State. No lowering our guards, rather we will raise our task because, what is speaking for us today is the achievements we're having in the face of distractions. "Therefore, raising the bar will be our own way of telling the world that no matter what is happening here, we mean well for the state and know what we are doing." He said, "It's not going to be easy, I know. God at times keeps evil people to live long to continue their evil, not because He doesn't know what to do but activities of evil people also keep the righteous people awake. He thanked everyone in the State, and solicited for more support in 2025, adding, "We're not going to do it alone because we have not made these gains alone. Whatever win we scored today, it is not myself alone, but the government and the support received from everyone of you. "I can't pay you back for doing what is right for your State. It is our state and at the end of the day. We're building a better future for those to takeover after us. That is my own dream for the State." Gov. Fubara stated that It is not about power and what is done today, but sustaining a system that will be self preserving, on which everyone can stand and be proud of the State. "I strongly believe that because of our desire to build, not our (private) supermarkets, or our hotels, but to build a State, there is no way we will not succeed, because our interest is not for self, but the collective interest of our people." He assured the people that year 2025 is going to be a year of all round achievements, declaring that by February 2025 his administration will embark on projects commissioning in other sectors, saying, "This time around, not roads. Our Fire Service, you can see what we are doing there. "For over nine years, there was no functional Fire Service, but today I can proudly tell you that we've bought all the vehicles and we are remodelling the offices. According to him, "Education is the only instrument that can help our youths to avoid criminality and crime. Our State is behind in education as our primary schools are shadows of themselves. You can see the provisions we made in our budget and we are making sure education is given the required attention in this state. "We have done much on health but we're going to spend more because you have to be alive to work. We're doing what we know is right, and doing those things that you can stand anywhere after our administration to defend us that our decisions were right. Nothing will stop us from achieving the purpose of governance in this State." Welcoming guests to the Banquet, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo said the outgone year has been a wonderful one, and commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for being focused as an emancipator of the State, saying no matter the antics of the enemies their acts to distract the government will continue to fail. © Gist Report

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara was joined by political leaders in the State to attend crossover service in his hometown, Opobo. In his short new year message at Saint Paul's Cathedral, Opobo on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, Gov. Fubara declared that the red biro is still filled and in his pocket and wished the people of the State a prosperous 2025 assuring that the year will be greater. In his sermon taken from the book of Psalms chapter 98 verses 1 to 9, the Bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese of the Church of Nigeria, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja said it is important to sing a new song for all that the Lord did in the year 2024 as a prelude to 2025. He said it is necessary to give God thanks for the salvation of mankind and averting every plan of the enemies. According to him: "God has revealed Himself more than enough in 2024 and that is why we should sing a new song. Because there had been afflictions and conspiracy against you or to someone else, but God says it will not stand, that is why we should sing a new song. It is the reason people are gathered all over the world at this time to sing a new song. This God has put away shame from us, so, we are going to be singing to Him a new song for the great things He has done. © Gist

He urged leaders to prioritize love and understanding over conflict, stating, “Leadership is about ruling with love, earning respect, and leaving a legacy of peace. Our region has endured so much, but through faith and unity, we’ve overcome.” Reflecting on past challenges, including the militancy days, Fubara expressed gratitude for the region’s progress. “Bayelsa and Rivers are no longer defined by their turbulent past. We’ve surrendered our struggles to God, and His guidance has strengthened us. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger – I’m now a General!” he declared with a smile. REGIONAL SECURITY AND RESPONSIBILITY Both governors also discussed the need to protect the region’s oil wealth, a key national treasure. “As leaders of this oil-rich zone, we’re committed to safeguarding both offshore and onshore assets for the benefit of Nigeria,” Fubara assured. In his closing remarks, the Rivers governor expressed hope for the new year, saying, “May 2025 bring prosperity and stronger development for our states. This visit is a testament to the unity we share, and I look forward to more fruitful collaborations with my brother, Governor Douye Diri.” BACKGROUND The visit was a follow-up to Governor Fubara’s earlier New Year visit to Governor Diri on January 3, 2024. During that meeting, both leaders had resolved to work together for the progress of their states and the South-South region at large. Johnmartins®️ Saturday, 28 December, 2024

Bori, the political heartbeat of Rivers South-East Senatorial District, came alive as Governor Siminalayi Fubara officially commissioned a massive 14-kilometer stretch of internal roads, covering an impressive 23 streets in Khana Local Government Area. The project, a long-overdue transformation for the area, marks just the first phase, with the Governor assuring that the second phase will soon follow. But Governor Fubara didn’t stop at roads, he delivered a powerful message of unity, love and genuine leadership that had the crowd cheering . “This is about love for the people,” the Governor declared. “It’s not love because I want something from you or because I sugarcoat bitterness. My interest in this Senatorial District is genuine. I cannot be separated from this place. Your success is my success.” And in a subtle dig at his critics, Fubara reminded the people to ask hard questions of those who now preach destruction: “If they loved you, why didn’t they better your lives before?” For a Governor constantly under political distractions, Sir Siminalayi Fubara reiterated that his confidence in God is unshakable: “God is our fighter. Don’t worry about what you see today, we have already conquered it. What matters is what will happen that you don’t yet see.” The people of Khana had more reasons to celebrate as Governor Fubara unveiled an ambitious plan to develop Bori beyond roads. “We are not stopping here. We’ll build good hospitals, rehabilitate schools, and attract industries. Development comes with employment, and that’s the only way Bori will truly grow,” he announced. Gov. Fubara had a firm message for the Bori and Khana people: “We must be accommodating. Our Polytechnic used to be the best, but things are falling apart because of how we relate with strangers. Development doesn’t happen in isolation. People must come, live with you, and you must accommodate them for Bori to grow.” The highlight of the day came when the Governor invited Prince Uche Secondus, former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, to commission the project. The move was both symbolic and heartfelt celebrating a leader who understands the roots and struggles of the people of Bori. As the crowd roared in appreciation, Bori stood transformed, not just by new roads, but by a vision for a brighter, better future. With Governor Fubara leading the charge, the people of Khana and Ogoni at large can dream again, knowing this is just the beginning. “We are doing this together,” Fubara assured. And with Bori now on the map of progress, all eyes are on the Governor’s next move as he turns promises into reality. John Martins®️ Tuesday, 17 December, 2024.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, Omuma Local Government Area witnessed a groundbreaking moment as Governor Siminalayi Fubara commissioned the Okehi-Umuola-Eberi road. In his address, the Governor boldly challenged naysayers, declaring that Omuma saw no meaningful development in the past eight years under the previous administration. His statement sparked a frenzy among loyalists of the former governor—now the Minister of the FCT—who scrambled to prove otherwise. Social media erupted as they dug up pictures of a single project commissioned in Omuma in 2021 by the former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara. However, what many failed to grasp was the subtle wisdom behind Governor Fubara’s statement. His words were an open invitation for the people to reflect on their past and contrast it with the present. The truth is glaring: in eight years (2015–2023), Omuma received just one project. Even that came after six years of waiting. Now compare that to the transformation under Governor Fubara. In just a year and six months, Omuma has seen not one, but two major road projects, the Okehi-Umuola-Eberi road and the Umuakali-Eberi road linking Rivers and Abia states, which was commissioned today by the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed. Governor Fubara has visited Omuma twice in two weeks showing that he is commited to ensuring Omuma and Etche Ethnic Nationality feel the impact of governance. His presence, actions and words embody the spirit of “Dike Oha,” the people's warrior. But this isn’t just about projects; it’s about a vision. Governor Fubara’s challenge was simple yet profound: to awaken the consciousness of Omuma people and the entire Etche Ethnic Nationality to the neglect they endured for eight long years. And the results speak volumes. In less than two years, his administration has outperformed his predecessor's eight years in terms of impactful projects. Today Governor Fubara has once again showed that he's truly the "Nwanne Di Na Mba 1" of Omuma, " a brother from another land" as he has approved the immediate rehabilitation of the General Hospital Omuma, Government Secondary School and internal roads. If this is what Omuma can achieve in such a short time under Governor Fubara, imagine the possibilities by the end of his 8-year tenure. The signs are clear; Omuma and the Etche Ethnic Nationality are on the path to a bountiful harvest of development. Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s rapid pace of commissioning and flag-offs across Rivers State is not just governance, it’s a movement, a testament to his dedication to delivering meaningful change to every Local Government of the state. His track record in Omuma is a beacon of hope for what lies ahead, not just for Etche Ethnic Nationality, but for all Rivers people. The message is loud and clear: Omuma is no longer in obscurity. Under Governor Fubara, it’s moving into the spotlight, thriving, and poised for a brighter future. Congratulations Nde Omuma... John Martins®️ Saturday, 14 December, 2024.

With all due respect to the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, his recent comments about Governor Sim Fubara at the birthday celebration of his friend, the Minister of F.C T, seem to have missed the mark. When he suggested that Governor Fubara should have “attempted poaching” Martins Amaewhule and his committee of friends, it raises several questions about his understanding of the political dynamics in Rivers State. Why would a Governor engage Assembly members who have long vacated their seats? Poaching is not only illegal but also undermines the spirit of fair and accountable governance. It would be more fitting to employ more ethical and transparent methods in navigating the political landscape. Perhaps Senator Akpabio was misusing his words, but regardless, a leader of his stature should tread carefully with the language used in public glare. Furthermore, the Senate President’s statement about the supposed rift between Governor Fubara and his predecessor seems out of touch with reality. Governor Fubara has consistently made it clear that he is not at odds with anyone. His focus remains on the well-being and development of Rivers State, and the people are in full support of his efforts. Suggesting otherwise seems to show a lack of understanding of the situation. It’s also worth noting that Senator Akpabio himself had a rift with his now close friend, the Minister of F.C.T, in the past. If one should question whether it’s appropriate for two leaders to have differences, perhaps the Senate President should reflect on his own experiences before making such judgments. In any case, Nigerians know that political alliances can be fleeting. The bond between Akpabio and his friend may not last forever, and that is something we all understand. But for now, Rivers people remain confident that Governor Sim Fubara is focused solely on what’s best for the state, regardless of any political distractions. OKANIA-OGBOGORO-MBARAJA ROAD: GOV. SIM FUBARA TURNS PROMISE INTO REALITY The transformation story of the Okania-Ogbogoro- Mbaraja Road is one for the books! Just six months ago, this 6.55-kilometer stretch of road was a nightmare for residents of Ada George, Okania, Mbaraja, and Ogbogoro communities in Port Harcourt. Today, it’s a smooth ride into a new era of hope and progress. Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, who had promised the people a brand-new road, returned triumphantly to the area today, December 12, to keep his word. But this wasn’t just any commissioning,it was special. The Governor invited his counterpart, His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, as the guest of honour to unveil this game-changing project. This road had suffered years of neglect, worsened by political drama years back when a proposed NDDC intervention was stopped by the former Governor. The reason? It was a deliberate slight against opposition members who reside in their numbers within the area. Residents were left to endure the hardship. On May 24, 2024, Governor Fubara flagged off the reconstruction of the road, boldly promising to deliver it in just six months. True to his word, today, the Okania-Ogbogoro-Mbaraja Road now boasts an impressive drainage system and a durable surface that will boost transportation and economic activities. Speaking at the commissioning, Governor Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to the people, saying this was just the beginning. “We’re not just here to commission a road; we’re here to fulfill a promise and prove that Rivers State deserves nothing but the best,” he said. On his choice of Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas as the special guest, Fubara noted that Kefas, having served in Rivers State during his military career, was familiar with the route and could truly appreciate the transformation. Governor Agbu Kefas lauded the project, but what struck him most was the sheer joy of Rivers people. “The cheering was overwhelming,” he said. “People came out from their homes and businesses to celebrate their Governor. This was not a hired crowd. That happiness is the true essence of governance.” The completion of this strategic road, with its 5.4-kilometer drainage system, is more than just an infrastructure upgrade, it’s a lifeline for residents and businesses in the area. Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration has once again shown that it’s all about action, not excuses. Rivers people, the future is here, and it’s paved with promises fulfilled. Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has been honored with the prestigious "Beacon of Hope for Nigerian Youths" award by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), urging youths to embrace unity for national progress.
