GOV. FUBARA COMMISIONS GOVERNMENT GIRLS SECONDARY SCHOOL AHOADA

...Says Projects Executed By His Administration Have Significant Bearing On Lives Of Rivers People

...Condemns attack on his supporters in Ekpeye, flays social media politics

...Bags Ekpeye traditional title

Rivers State Governor, Sir (Dr.) Siminalayi Fubara has declared that his administration will not engage in deceit, vindictiveness and frivolities but embark on projects that will have significant bearing and value on the lives of Rivers people.

The governor was also decorated with a chieftaincy title of Eze Eyawe Ugo of Ekpeye land (King of Peace and Eagle of Ekpeye land) by the Eze Ekpeye Logbo, Eze Sir Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo on behalf of the Ekpeye ethnic nationality.

Governor Fubara who spoke during the commissioning of the remodeled Government Girls Secondary School in Ahoada on Friday, December 6, 2024, said his administration places a high premium on education and will not politicize the promotion of excellence in the educational sector through the upgrading of critical infrastructures.

He explained that all the projects so far embarked on by his administration were not politically motivated but conceived to solve the essential needs of the people.

"I am overwhelmed with joy standing here this afternoon to celebrate a project that is not associated with vindictiveness. I use that word because this project was awarded before May 29, it wasn't funded, the contractors are not even people that I know. But by the special grace of God because of the importance of education that we see as a key thing that we must follow, notwithstanding our problems."

"On Wednesday this week we inaugurated a project, an 11.8 kilometer Okehi-Umuola-Eberi link road which connects Omuma and Etche and we made a very bold statement there to say that very soon we will be going to Omuma to also inaugurate another project."

Governor Fubara flayed those who engage in social media hypes to undermine the truth noting that such culpable deceits will soon expire.

According to him, "We challenged them that the project that we are going to commission in Omuma is the first project that they are seeing. A few days later those people who felt the only way that they can survive is social media and to sell dogs. I wonder why you will go to school, your parents will spend money and the only profession you choose is to be a data boy and to sell dogs."

"I stand here to say that even if there was a project commissioned at that time, it was a farm road that has no impact. The project we are commissioning has significance and that is what we should be talking about. It is not going to do one irrelevant project and you call people. We are talking about projects that will add value to the lives of the people."

He said, "We will not celebrate things that will not make meaning, that is why we are here today to inaugurate this special school for people that are going to be mothers to this great nation. People that will be wives to great men and if you don't produce a quality girl-child it means the nation is gone. So you can see and everybody can attest that we are strategic. It is not just doing, but doing what is right."

Gov. Fubara further said key stakeholders in Ekpeye Kingdom, including the Eze Ekpeye Logbo, His Majesty, Eze Sir Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo, Chief of Staff to Rivers State Government, Rt Hon Edison Ehie, among others were persecuted for supporting his administration, but assured that their support will not be taken for granted.

"I understand the emotion that is being displayed here today. I feel for this great kingdom. When the Eze Ekpeye was talking, many of you may not understand what happened. Because of their support for me he was arrested, tried on trumped up charges and detained in Police custody for more than 4 months alongside Chief Cassidy."

"This thing cannot last forever and I can assure you with all boldness today that they are gradually coming to an end. What we just need is to be patient. We have promised that our approach will be following this process with patience and the fear of God and we will get there."

"So, Eze Ekpeye and other traditional rulers here who have suffered in the course of supporting us your request for recognition of other traditional stools will be granted."

"I want to thank the good people of Ekpeye not just Ahoada East for giving us your support. You have shown publicly and openly your position in this government, we will support you with everything that we have got. We will make sure that your son who decided to follow us will be honoured."

The governor appealed to the people to always remain peaceful and avoid anything that will give the enemies the opportunity to attack them pointing out that detractors are always looking for something to attack his supporters, "but please don't give them the opportunity. We are entering into the festive period, enter it with all the amount of joy knowing well that our government has its mantra Peoples first."

While accepting the Chieftancy title bestowed on him, Gov. Fubara assured that he will not disappoint The people, stressing "The meaning of the Chieftancy is Eagle. Eagle is a strong bird even in the face of frustration you can see that we are still flying and flying well. We will continue to make you happy and we will bring honour to you"

Describing the project, Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ovy Orliudeye Chinedum Chukwuma expressed delight and commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for completing the remodelled school and his investment in education for the benefit of the people.

He said the project was executed by three contractors and the school has 24 classrooms with common rooms and convenience. The school also has laboratories for Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture and Information Technology as well as a modern Assembly Hall.

The facility has two blocks of 2 bedroom flats for the two Principals, one for the Senior Secondary and the other for the Junior Secondary as well as for the Vice Principals of both sections. The remodelling includes modern sporting facilities.

On his part the Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Hon. Chibudom Ezu thanked Governor Siminalayi Fubara for remodeling of the Government Girls Secondary School, Ahoada and other numerous ongoing projects.

He appealed to the governor for the extension of the remaining one kilometer old Port Harcourt road and repackaging of the dilapidated bridge as part of the ongoing reconstruction of the road which also connects the remodelled School.

Hon. Ezu also pleaded for the reactivation of the Ahoada Industrial Park to create business opportunities and jobs for the teeming youths of the State.

Earlier, the traditional ruler of Ahoada, Eze Ekpeye Logbo, His Majesty, Eze Sir Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo while presenting kola nut and conferring the traditional title of Eze Eyawe Ugo of Ekpeye land (King of Peace and Eagle of Ekpeye land) on the governor declared the total support of the ethnic nationality on Gov. Fubara's 2027 governorship bid.

I am overwhelmed with joy standing here this afternoon to celebrate a project that is not associated with vindictiveness. I use that word because this project was awarded before May 29, yet it wasn’t funded, and the contractors are not even people I know. By the special grace of God, and because of the importance we attach to education as a key priority, we invited the contractors in August of that year, assured them that we would fund this project, and made it clear we were not interested in changing contractors. This speaks volumes about the kind of leadership guiding this state.

On Wednesday this week, we inaugurated an 11.8-kilometer Okehi-Umuola-Eberi link road, connecting Omuma and Etche. At the event, we boldly stated that very soon, we will inaugurate another project in Omuma. We even challenged those who doubted us, saying that the project we will commission in Omuma will be a first-of-its-kind. However, some individuals, who see social media as their only means of survival and resort to selling dogs for a living, have chosen to criticize us instead of reflecting on their own lives. I wonder why someone would go to school, have their parents invest in their education, only to settle for being a "data boy" and a dog seller. If those who claim to support you genuinely valued you, why didn’t they offer you meaningful appointments? Sometimes, it is better to reflect on your life than engage in baseless insults. Ask yourself if you are truly living a quality life.

I stand here to say that even if there was a project commissioned at that time, it was merely a farm road with no real significance. What we are commissioning today has a profound impact, adding value to the lives of the people we serve. This is the kind of leadership we celebrate—projects that make a difference, not token gestures.

Today, we are inaugurating a special school for the education of girls who will become future mothers and wives, contributing to the greatness of this nation. The quality of the girl-child is paramount, as it directly impacts the nation’s future. Our approach is strategic, focusing not just on doing things, but on doing what is right.

I assure our people that we will only embark on projects that we can proudly stand behind.

On a political note, I understand the emotions displayed here today. I sympathize with this great kingdom. When the Eze Ekpeye spoke, many of you didn’t understand the depth of his words. Because of their public support for me, he was arrested, falsely accused, and detained for over four months, alongside Cassidy. My Chief of Staff was even declared wanted for openly supporting us. These actions were attempts to diminish our influence, but the truth always prevails. These challenges have a time limit, and I assure you with boldness that their end is near. Patience and faith in God will see us through.

To Eze Ekpeye and other traditional rulers who have suffered for supporting us, your request for recognition of other traditional stools will be granted.

Regarding the extension of this road, our goal is not just to commission projects but to address issues that facilitate the smooth operation of this area. We decided to work on this road because the other access road was in terrible condition. During inspection, my heart skipped as we crossed a weak bridge. I assure you that, with more resources, the remaining one kilometer and the bridge will be completed.

As for the internal roads, the original contractor has proven to lack the courage to stand for what is right. Therefore, I believe it is wrong to continue funding someone who has declared themselves an enemy of the state. The Ministry of Works must have written to them by now. I will officially cancel the project and re-award it for proper completion.

I want to thank the good people of Ekpeye, not just Ahoada East, for your unwavering support. You have openly demonstrated your loyalty to this government. We will honor your son who has stood by us, and this is just the beginning of what we will achieve together. I appeal to you to remain peaceful and avoid giving our detractors any reason to attack. As we approach the festive season, celebrate with joy, knowing that our government remains committed to its mantra: People First.

I wholeheartedly accept this chieftaincy title, "Eagle," which symbolizes strength and resilience. Even in the face of frustration, we continue to soar high. We will keep making you proud and bring honor to our people.

PoliticsGovernor Fubara Commissions Reconstructed Okehi/Umuola/Eberi Road by SimFubaraNews(op): 11:22pm On Dec 04, 2024
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has once again proven that development, not distractions, is his focus. On Tuesday, he commissioned the reconstructed Okehi/Umuola/Eberi Link Road, a vital 11.8km project connecting the agrarian local governments of Etche and Omuma.

This road, completed within just five months, is more than asphalt, it’s a lifeline for the hardworking farmers and residents of these food-producing LGAs. Known as the food baskets of Rivers State, Etche and Omuma contribute significantly to the state’s agricultural output with staples like yam, cassava, plantain, corn and vegetables.

Speaking at the commissioning, Governor Fubara highlighted the neglect Omuma LGA endured under previous administrations, pledging to reverse the trend by ensuring every part of Rivers State benefits from governance. "This road is not just about connectivity; it’s about development and inclusion," he said.

The governor explained that the road, designed with modern specifications, 7.3 meters in width, a 150mm stone base and a durable 50mm binder and wearing course was prioritized because of its strategic importance. It serves as a gateway to Omuma, where the governor is also constructing the Omodu-Eberi-Omuma Road, which will connect Rivers to Abia State.

Governor Fubara reiterateed the economic potential this project unlocks. “With this road, we are empowering the people. We are enabling faster movement of farm produce, improving trade, and ultimately boosting the GDP of Rivers State.”

Farmers in the region, who have long endured the challenges of transporting their goods on bad roads, can now access markets faster and more efficiently, ensuring higher earnings and reduced post-harvest losses.

Governor Fubara’s performance is particularly commendable given the challenges and political distractions aimed at derailing his administration. Despite these hurdles, he remains undeterred, delivering on promises and solidifying his reputation as a leader focused on results, not rhetoric.

The commissioning of the Okehi/Umuola/Eberi Link Road is another testament to Governor Fubara’s resolve to leave no part of Rivers State behind. His administration’s approach is clear: development for all, regardless of societal status or political leanings.

The people of Etche and Omuma are now witnessing the tangible benefits of this commitment, with a road that not only connects their communities but also their dreams for a better future. Governor Fubara has once again raised the bar for governance, proving that distractions are no match for determination.
