Religion / Kidnappers Release Winners' Chapel Calabar Pastor, As Bishop Oyedepo Curses by Simolicatalano: 2:23am On Jun 22, 2015
Founder and General Overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide a.k.a. Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has cursed kidnappers for bringing sorrow to families in the country.

Speaking during the third service at Faith Tabernacle, Ota in Ogun State, western Nigeria on Sunday, 21 June, Bishop Oyedepo told kidnappers that: “As long as I am here in Christ, your endeavours in this country are cused.”

He then added: “For all of you who continually bring sorrow to families, I curse you and your sponsors.”

He was reacting to the kidnap of Pastor Seyi Adekunle of the Calabar Province of the Winners’ Chapel located on IBB Way in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

Pastor Adekunle was kidnapped by five gunmen on Saturday, 13 June during prayers in the church in Calabar. The kidnappers later demanded for N60 million ransom.

According to reports, the kidnappers got in touch with the church authorities and Bishop Oyedepo asked to be put through to them on the phone.

Thinking he wanted to negotiate a ransom, they responded to the Bishop who then confirmed if they knew who they were speaking with.

The kidnappers replied in the affirmative. It was then Bishop Oyedepo lambasted them on the phone, saying “I curse you in the name of Jesus and anyone who pays ransom to you is cursed.”

Reports said hours after the Bishop blasted the kidnappers, they released Pastor Adekunle and fled during an attack carried out by the military and police with the use of helicopter and ground troops.

The pastor has since been re-united with his family and Bishop Oyedepo went to Calabar on Sunday evening for a thanksgiving service at Living Faith Church where he said God had a hand in the rescue of Pastor Adekunle.

The Cross River State Police Command Spokesman confirmed the pastor’s release. He said two suspects were arrested before Pastor Adekunle regained his freedom.

“No ransom was paid but we are on the trail of other accomplices and very soon I will give you more details,” he said.

Technology Market / Osama bin Laden's relatives killed in UK plane crash by Simolicatalano: 1:17am On Jun 15, 2015
Late al-Qaeda leader's half sister and
stepmother reportedly killed after plane
crashes during landing at UK airport.

auction site next to the airport [EPA]
Four people have been killed after a private
jet crashed in southern England, reportedly
including deceased al-Qaeda leader Osama
bin Laden's half sister and stepmother.
The private plane owned by the bin Laden
family overshot the runway when trying to
land at Blackbushe airport in Hampshire on
Friday morning. The plane crashed into a car
auction site next to the airport.
Without confirming the identities of the
victims, the Saudi Ambassador to Britain,
Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf Al Saud,
offered condolences on the embassy's
official Twitter account to the bin Laden
family, a prominent Saudi clan with vast
business interests.
"His royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin
Nawaf bin Abdul Aziz, the ambassador of the
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the
United Kingdom, offered his condolences to
the sons of the late Mohammed bin Laden
and their relations for the grave incident of
the crash of the plane carrying members of
the family at Balckbushe airport," he said in
the tweet.
Saudi media reported that the family
members included Osama bin Laden's half
sister and stepmother.
A spokeswoman for the British police told
the Reuters news agency: "There were no
survivors, unfortunately. There were four
people onboard including the pilot", but she
did not provide their identities.
The Saudi embassy said it was working with
British authorities to investigate the incident
and to ensure the speedy handover of the
bodies for funerals and burials in the
kingdom.
Osama bin Laden was shot dead by US
forces in Pakistan in 2011, ending a ten-year
manhunt for the world's most wanted man,
accused of being the mastermind of the
September 11 attacks on the United States.
In those attacks, planes were hijacked and
flown into New York City's World Trade
Center towers and the Pentagon.
Before his death, the last known sighting of
bin Laden by anyone other than his very
close entourage was in late 2001 - as he
prepared to flee his stronghold in
Afghanistan.

Education / Re: Common Grammatical Tautologies by Simolicatalano: 10:49pm On Nov 23, 2013
Most of your so called corrections are misinformed. These are adjectives used to further qualify nouns, or simply commonly used idiomatic or colloquial English expressions.

From the very beginning is a commonly used English expression to show its from the "from the exact point when something starts". So for example, if you say "I started doing it at the beginning of the year", then you could mean anytime in January up till March possibly. However, "I started at the very beginning of the year" suggests that you started on Day 1 of the year.

Small Minority: Again, this may be right usage. If 1 million people make up a minority, is this still a 'small' minority, e.g Africans within the UK or US can be considered a minority. Are they small in size? However, Africans who worship Sango in the UK, or who commit crimes and give everyone else a bad name. These are examples of small minority when compared with the entire population.

Personal belongings: Can multiple people not share ownership of an item, or can an individual not make use of items which don't actually belong to them? I am using a computer which belongs to me (kind of), but I do not own it as it was purchased by my employers, but was given to me to work with. It is my computer, but It's not my personal belonging.

Honest truth: This is an idiom, an expression. Yes the truth should always be honest, but we are humans. e.g "The truth is that I was in class today", "The honest truth is that I was in class today but I wasn't paying attention".

Past experience: Experiences can occur in real time. Past experience suggests a considerable amount of time has passed between you having the experience (it didn't happen yesterday or this morning, or just now).

Old adage: 'Poo happens' is an adage. Is it old?

symbianDON: i have never criticized buhari before but this time he definately has gone beyond his boundaries. How buhari equates niger delta militants with boko haram sect beats me hollow. Mr. Buhari, how many innocent people did the militants kill? How many churches and how many mosques? Did the militants have a clear cut and realistic reason why they took to arms or not? When they were invited to dialogue did they oblige or not? The answers are all YES!!! Which these questions has yes as answer when applied to boko haram? The mere fact that you have always been supportive of violence and boko haram smacks of mischief and suspicion. I have lost all the respect i ever had for you. If you can't support the onslaught against boko haram then go to blazes sir!!!

Junah or whatever your name is,

What injustice ?

What else do you muslins want from america ?

They use their federal reserve to build beautiful and big mosque for you people.

Did americans (who are cristians) use state money to build church ?

Yet, you are claiming injustice ? what injustice ?

They respect and defend muslims. Has saudi, Iran and others use their country money to build church for their christians ?

The bottomline is
You people see America as a strong Christian nation that hinder your jihad war. That is why you want to kill them by all means.
You are not seeking for any justice. Their is nothing america can do appease or please you people. You just want them down.

Is it only america ? In india you people kill hindus everyday. What has hindu people done to offend you ?

In China, you people kill the budist everyday. What have they also done to you ?

In africa you kill your fellow africans who are not muslims everyday. What have they done to offend you ?

The same goes to the jew.

The point is, you just want to murder everbody else.

But another funny thing is "You murder yourself too (Shiite/Sunni/Jurdish/Shia/Bathi e.t.c)

The religion is all about death and murder.
u said it all

Would it bring back the dead?

Would it undo what has already been done?

I just pray she doesn't loose the baby.
i really dont support d mob tho...
But if only she was a bit careful with her words she would have spared herself d humiliation.
She said "the death of the student(s) isnt my concern, i only did my job"
she could have reconstructed dat statement in a million beta wayz....

blackmann: That front gate is usually a deadly place for the students. During my days as a student in Lautech we had numerous loss of lives there and several riots. Vehicles speeding from Ilorin don't even bother slowing down when the approach that area. It got to a point the skool closed that gate permanently and all students used the Under-G road (the back entrance).

May their souls RIP.
