Guys you need to read this. It's so revealing. Truly a lot of shady things transpire at the helms of power http://www.saharareporters.com/fanikayodeasanassassin.php |

This is what you should do. Whatever webserver you are using (Apache, IIS etc), check to ensure that it is started. If it is and you can't get localhost on your web browser, try using the loop-back address (127.0.0.1) in place of localhost - Apache behaves like this if your httpd.conf configuration is not well set up. Check the connetion settings on your browser. Under LAN Settings, if you're using a proxy server ensure you check the By pass Proxy for Local Address and include localhost, 127.0.0.1 and maybe your IP adress in the by pass list. What happens if you don't include these settings, is that the browser attempts to look for whatever you type in after the http protocol on the internet; meaning it keeps glooming around the world instead of your local machine. That should solve it. Take care. |
OBJ's action is commendable, I'm proud of him. To the poster that said, OBJ would not be able to write an exam successfully because He doens't speak plush english, What do you mean by that. The man was Nigeria's President for 8yrs and you think he doesn't have anything upstairs? That's simply preposterious. The fact that he is with technical tools, means his course requires them. You know the educational syllabus have changed, and truly theology students might be doing maths-related subjects. I learnt business students now do phyiscs and chemistry at the University. I think the Baba is sure one Nigerian that is not bothered about what people say. Bravo OBJ. |
It's funny how we Human Beings tend to attach too much importance to status or the overtly overated class. We look good, dress in posh attire, buy sleek cars, attractive phones and strive to associate with the best of the opposite or same sex. The truth however, remains that, we do not determine who our parents are nor do we determine the circumstances or environment in which we're born. In a way, your immediate environment and the circumstances you find yourself while growing up, tend to shape your life (at least up to that level, that you could decide to chart a new course for your life). Now I do not know your background, but I guess you must have been more privileged than your fiancee to have become computer savvy while she is a "Market Trader" like you put it. For you to call her your "Fiancee", it means you guys have gone beyond casual friendship, and probably you both have done some form of introduction to either Parents, so what do you want to tell them now, that you've been blind-folded all along and just suddenly realised she's a "Market Trader", that is not worthy of a "Computer Guru" like you? I don't really want to delve into how you guys met, because I believe love can be found in the strangest of places. If you think you truly love her, I don't think status or ego should come between you two. Being a graduate and a "computer guru" doesn't guarrantee success and being a "market-trader" shouldn't necessarily translate to failure in life. In fact, I think marrying someone that you deem as lower in status to you is better than marrying another career person like you, that will ultimately result in clash of egos. I you truly love your fiancee and feel you're ready for marriage, then don't wait a second longer, go right ahead. If you think her "status" is not up to "yours", you can upgrade her by making sure all your friends know her, go out with her to whatever gathering you are attending, and don't hesitate to be her voice in public; if she blurts out incoherent grammar, don't be ashamed to step in and cover up for her. After Marriage, you can either enroll her in school or begin to teach her in your own way, you will be suprised that she will catch up. I don't believe you have to speak "the queens English" to be reckoned with, if you know your onions you will always stand up to counted. What is taught at the University will at most guarantee you a theoritical knowlege of your discipline and if you're intelligent, a more pragmatic approach to life, but not the norms in the outside world, you could actually apply your knowlege to turn her "petty-trading" into a business empire. In the event of life's turmoils, what you term "petty-trading" now might be the mainstay for the both of you. So, don't let true love pass you by, because of your ego! , and a word of advice, do not table her issue in a forum like this, or to your friends for that matter, It is demeaning. You should be able to make your decisions and stand by them. Wishing you a happy married life! I hope to get an invitation. ![]() |
A point of correction, Ruby on Rails was not created by Yukihiro Matsumoto (Matz) but by David Heinemeier Hansson, assisted by other open-source developers. However, Ruby Language was created by Matsumoto and it is both a Programming language and a Scripting language. It is the scripting feature of it that was implemented to create Ruby on Rails to act as a fast CGI - remember the days of CGI programming for web, before scripting languages like Perl and PHP became popular. Because it is implemented as a CGI and not a module that means you would have it installed in your root folder and have it generate your dynamic pages on the fly, when requested from the client's browser. You could actually use Ruby on Rails on many databases, MySQL, PostGreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server etc., but you know Oracle is trying to win the hearts of the open source community, so it is has bundled the application with its Oracle database, and has rigourously tested it, so you might subjectively want to say that is the most reliable bundle of Ruby on Rails. You know Oracle also bundle Linux with the Oracle database which they tagged "Oracle Unbreakable Linux", I see all these as marketing gimmicks, to ensure that Oracle remains the best database. You can get more information on Ruby by downloading and installing the language from http://www.ruby-lang.org. It bundles an extensive documentation that you could read to get more details on its workings. You can also download the Ruby on Rails Web Development Framework from http://www.rubyonrails.org and Oracle's implementation of it at http://www.oracle.com I'm sure you'll have fun working with Ruby. |
My Dear, Equity funds are not bad and can yield high returns depending on who your investment manager is. The good thing about Equity/Mutual Funds is that the investment manager has a pool of funds to play with for a period of time, and depending on how savvy he is, he can make some real smart investment moves that will really jerk up on your investment. If you ask me I'll say ARM Discovery is more appropriate - they currently sell at about N27/unit (if I'm not mistaken) and their track record show a yearly marginal increase, they also are division of GT Bank. IBTC's fund currently sell at about N2/unit (if I'm not mistaken) - but they also have a good track record; parades proffessionals with years of experience, remember they started as IBTC and now has a bank, IBTC Chartered. Depending on your capital, Coral Fund might not really be appropriate, as it is a bit on the high side, currently sells at about N1,000/unit (if I'm not mistaken); however, they are good. Anyway, don't take my word for it, Dig for more information. Check out their sites and also call them for more information. IBTC site is at http://www.ibtcbrokerage.com Arm Discovery site is at : http://www.armdiscoveryfund.com Coral Fund site is at: http://www.fsdhgroup.com Have fun investing! |
My dear I can't post the information on the forum. Remember I said I have contact, not asking you to go to the firms directly. If I post the name of the firms here directly here and you go there, they definitely will ask you register at the minimum investment rate. And if you noticed, I mention big stockbroking firms and little stockbroking firms without mentioning names. That's so as not to imply that I am marketing for some firms at the detriment of others. You wanted to know if we're on the forum for business or to help. Well I'll say I'm for both; while helping, you could also do some business . You don't really need to bother about my phone no. or email address; if you're not interested.By the way I posted a thread on Wealth Exchange, can someone send a mail to wex@getresponse.com and tell me what you think, based on the automated reply you get? |
I am aware that getting to have an account with any good (top) stock broking firm in Nigeria is a tough task, due to the "heavy" amount they charge. For instance I know some of them require initial investment of between N5,000,000 - N10,000,000 to manage your portfolio - only the rich are invited. There are some smaller ones that require about a minimum of N250,000 to start with. The major issue is that they don't do same day order execution and some of them still execute their trades through the big firms. Not doing same-day trading could mean losing some cool dividends on your investment, if you know what I mean. The good news is that I have contact in some of the big stock broking firms and can get you registered with them with as little as N100,000 as initial investment deposit. And this is no ruse, you'll have your CSCS account opened and can monitor your investment portfolio via their site real-time. If you're interested, you can reach me on 0805-0384552 or mail me at simplex_dez@yahoo.co.uk and I'll put you through. |
I wish to join the Nigerian Jazz Club put together by Ben Ufeli. Could anyone give me details on how to do this? regards, |

Hey guys, Are you developing a web application with PHP and having problems? I think I should be able to handle them, so simply post your problems here and I'll reply you with the solution asap. I'll also extend this service to other programming languages soon! regards, |
I am a web application/desktop application developer. I use tools such as JAVA, DELPHI & PHP with backends like MYSQL & ORACLE My scope cover areas like business application design, application framework design and business automation. These are salient areas for all organizations who appreciate the value of data-driven mechanism and dynamism. Prospects abound all around Nigeria in Financial Institutions, Travel Agencies, Schools, Airlines etc as only a few big companies handle all data-related application development; if only the opportunity can be seized. Getting clients to develop for require a lot of liason and marketing and I run a schedule too tight to allow for this. What I want, is companies or individuals who could handle the marketing angle while I handle the technical aspect, and we will be in good mutual business soon; who knows we might be talking about the next software company in Nigeria. Anyone out there interested? Please visit my site: http://www.sditservices.net for more details about me or send me a mail at soldipitservices@yahoo.co.uk. I'll be expecting! Best Regards, Oladipupo |
I have read through all the comments posted on IBB and my honest opinion is that we're getting ourselves worked up over nothing. Now, I don't know who BIG B1 is or what his motives are, but I think he just tried to raise some salient points (in his view) about the other side of IBB and why he thinks IBB should be given a second chance. Why should this result in a quarrel? What I think Odeku or any other respondent should do is to present facts on why IBB shouldn't rule and let's turn this thing into a healthy and fruitful debate. We all are aware of the circumstances that trailed the IBB regime but don't we have same for all regimes? People died during IBB's regime and we claim he killed them because he was the president, are people not dying now? Why are we not saying Obasanjo killed them. Corruption abounded during IBB's regime and we blame him for it, is corruption not everywhere now? Why are we not blaming Obasanjo for it, or is he so pious? At least from what we are hearing now, I don't think he is as clean as he would have us believe. What I'm trying to point out is that being a leader means you take responsiblity for whatever happens (good or bad). I think our hatred for IBB lies in the fact that we hated Military dictatorship, wanted democracy, and IBB for some reasons prevented us from having it in 1993. What we seem to forget is that he used his influence to get Obasanjo into power in 1999. Human beings have the tendency to be corrupt, it is all about survival. Notwithstanding, there are people who wouldn't compromise integrity for anything, no matter what obtains in the society. Remember, society creates crime, the criminal commits it. Personally, of the pack of leaders currently touted, I prefer Pat Utomi, I think he is the best on all fronts. But, if I can't get him, I think the next in line is IBB (he has the experience) again, my view. Regards, |
