It depends on your GP. if you have a minimum of at least 2.9 or approximately 3.0 on a 5 point scale, you will stand a good chance of gaining admission. However, that would be more likely in programme with a non-restricted admission policy.
so the wise thing is to choose as many schools as possible especially those with open admission if your GP is above 2.9 or safely 3.0 on a 5 point CGPA scale.

I have been away for a while, I had to breeze through a very difficult professional exam with just a few days of self study and I have been away from any settled shelter for a while. I just used some time off to peep into the thread and see some comments but couldnt contribute .

Some of the people looking forward to gaining admission and are fidgeting about the cities your school is located in and the language. One thing you should note is that, different things are applicable to different people and in different places. For instance nevilbot was complaining about his city and I asked him, if he has been to a Nigerian or African church to ask for help..fortunately, that was where his salvation laid, and that could be difference between a good city and a tough city. Look at the opportunities which lies wherever you are and take advantage. And don't forget information is power. Always go to or do things that will attract opportunities to you.

Now here is a simple tip which I have always emphasised on. When you are assessing the economic potentials of a city, try to look at opportunities that abound in the neighboring cities too and the proximity to those places. For instance, a school could be in worms, but worms is not as good or big as Manheim but it less than 20-30 minutes from there and Manheim cannot be more than 1 hour from Frankfurt and also consider your free semester ticket from school. NRW as a state is also so compact that for instance you can school in Aachen or Bonn and work in Cologne and may be still visit your friend occasionally in Leverkusen or Gelsenkirchen. From Dortmund, you can visit your new flame at Duisburg while keeping tabs on the old one at Bochum or Essen. and all these places are self reliant cities. However, if you are isolated in far away cold Rostock, Mecklenburg Volpomerin, in the former Eàst Germany, OYO (its not so bad o)

No matter what you do, don't forget your fellow Nigerians over there in schools and especially CHURCHES, people tend to bond better and become more helpful to people of their kind when they are away lonely from home. Their fellow country men are the closest they can get to home. Its just simple psychology.

Germany is a large country with different traits. the rich Munichans are legendary snubs and business like, while hamburgers are more lively with their red light districts everywhere (well, with 1.8 million people), while Cologners are just dry, can't joke to sàve their life. Some cities are friendlier than others, some are more fun, some more richer, etc. At the end of the day, these are just stereotypes, its left for you to create a niche for yourself as one earlier said.

In terms of language, you stand to cope better in larger international cities, than some small pub town. However, the trade off is that your knowledge of German and ability to speak will be better in those smaller towns and will be horned better than in bigger international cities where English is widely spoken because there are less challenges or barriers to using it. The advantage is that at the end of the day, if you plan to work in Germany after studies, they will respect your German language proficiency better and you have less restrictions to the labour market in terms of language. So, if you are facing such challenge, use it as an opportunity to learn the language and not see it as an outright problem.

Again, what we are missing here is the post travel education. Thank God we are coming up and some are taking up the challenge.

Now to me, I will say I lost the fight but not the battle. Its so sad, painful and unsettling that one puts so much effort, prayer, fasting, prophesies, intellect, time and finance, faith, hope, love and a whole lot of sacrifices into something so passionately and it comes bouncing back right before your very eye without meeting any of your expectations. It is tougher especially when you dreamt it and carried the responsibility single handedly. "It all shows that the race is not to the swift, neither the battle to the strong..... time and chance happens to them all"

The embassy hasn't replied me yet and i have not gotten a new sponsorship letter neither the old one corrected but my time has elapsed and I cant beat the deadline so am writing them to withdraw my application before they reject me officially so that it won't give my passport a bad record.

I have met great people in this journey and am proud I met them. This thread is such a great inspiration. Thanks for your prayers and the encouraging words. I don't have a hint of what next to do or what strategy am going to use back to Deutschland but in all, it is well. I need to call my spirit which has long left for Germany back to his body which he left here in Nigeria so they can both find a way forward.

The marvelling disappointment does not in any way indicate the last of me on this thread, from time to time, even if not daily, i will make my presence felt.

Please I have always wanted to know and be sure on this ..... For a Study visa is the block acct(8k), will it be a yearly renewal or(as I heard from someone) after 2 years. Please if wouldn't mind I would need a guide( someone with the direct experience)to converse. To all new german visa holder,i congratulate u guys.please remember you need to renew your resident permit(8k euro or job contract)after your first permit is about to expire.please start looking for job immediately your work permit is issue.

Dont undermine the important of the german langauge when looking for job.start learning it as fast as possible.
