simplyglow Pls check UTI and co to rule out infection. They can cause these opening of the cervix , and if that is the case, cerclage will still be removed once Labour is triggered by them.

If weight of babies are the case,
Get the cerclage done. Just relax your mind . It's just to be on the safe side.

I already did a high vaginal swab test and urine test lastt week cos I was having a frequent discharge, both test came out clear, it should probably be the weight on the cervix
I'ld make more enquiries when I get to the hospital today.

Cervical cerclage is a brief procedure I have one on presently which was done at 18 weeks though it is advices to be done earlier like say 13-14 weeks, I was under general anaesthesia and the whole procedure didn't last up to 2 hours. For the charges I can't say cos my HMO covered it.

I hope I answered your question if not other mamas will put in more. Don't be worried, everything will go on fine.

It's nothing to be worried about ma. I did mine at 14 weeks, just had spinal anaesthesia and the procedure was over in 15-20 mins.

So far the pregnancy is going smoothly, sometimes I forget a cerclage is there.

I was just advised to rest, I'm not on bed rest and to avoid sex for a while.

Mine was in a govt hospital for 35k.

I have been scheduled for a cerclage tomorrow and am worried about the procedure.
