Barka d Sallah to all muslims. Sallah is on Sunday 6th November and Arafat day is Saturday 5th November. Saudi Arabia announces November sixth as the first day of Eid al-Adha Thursday, 27 October 2011 As many as three million Muslims from around the world performed Hajj in Mecca in 2010. By Al Arabiya Dubai The Saudi higher court in Riyadh announced on late Thursday that Friday is the first day of Dhu al-Hija Islamic month and that Eid al-Adha will be on Sunday November 6th, 2011. Dhu al-Hija or “the one of pilgrimage” is the twelfth and the last month of the Islamic calendar. The higher court decided on the eid date after an investigative session citing experts’ witness accounts that said that the crescent of the Dhu al-Hija has been observed. Eid al-Adha or “Greater Eid” is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of prophet Abarahm to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God, before God intervened. The event of standing on Mount Arafat will be on Saturday November 5th, 2011, the higher court added. Mount Arafat is also known as the Mount of Mercy, and is the hill that Muslims believe that prophet Muhammad stood and delivered the farewell sermon to the Muslims who had accompanied him for the pilgrimage towards the end of his life. It reaches about 70 meters in height. Eid al-Adha celebrations start right after pilgrims descend from Mount Arafat. During Eid al-Adha, many Muslims visit family and friends, exchange greetings and gifts, and make donations to the poor and needy. |
I hope Nigeria's foreign policy will reflect the fact that we dont support rulers who change their country's constitution Willy-nilly so they can rule fore-ever. Please GEJ dont attend Biya's inauguration. We dont want a repeat of the incident when he was booed after attending Museveni's inauguration (in power for the past 25 years). ![]() |

This is shaping up to be the worst games Nigeria. In yrs past, its always a clean sweep for nigeria in Table Tennis. But Egypt snatched some gold from us. and remember the times when The sprints both male and female were ours, now other countries a making an inroad into our area of dominance while we are not making any inroad into their's e.g swimming. We need to sit up and arrest this decline by reviving school sports and ensuring athletes for ghames are picked on merit. And its a shame that the winner of men's 100m ran 10+, i can africa hope to compete at the olympic if we are not running sub 10 secs. |
The Governor is blaming the federal government now. The same man who said he received security report that there will be an attack on Sallah day and still went ahead to travel out of the country because according to him, he made all security arrangement before leaving and his trip cannot be shelved. For peace to reign in the plateau, all interest group, community leaders, political groups and youths need to come together and trash out there differences. |
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE RESPOND TO MY POST. I ALREADY HAVE MYTV. DO I NEED ANOTHER DISH TO GET MULTITV AND INFINITY OR ARE THEY IN THE SAME DIRECTION WITH MYTV. THANKS AND A RESPONSE WILL BE APPRECIATED. |
The article was not propaganda. The 3 players later apologised to the team on arrival in madagascar. I taught the days of complaints and bickering in the team was over but i guess this proves me wrong. The players complained that the NFF should get a flight that will fly direct without refuelling. Bringing up such an issue at the eleventh hour is unfair in my opinion. And Enyeama asking that the team travel on friday . He seems to have forgotten what happened last time the team traveled to an away match with hours to spare and barely came out with a draw. The team is also scheduled to fly out immediately for the Argentina game so arriving early will enable them rest and train for the two games properly. |
Hi, please i currently have strong 4651x, i tried to scan for new channels but its not recognising the default pin 0000. I also want to buy strong 4669x to receive multitv and infinity. Problem i have with the judiciary is that either CJ or PCA lied on oath regarding the case of Sokoto election tribunal. Which of them lied, or was PCA removed because he told the truth about the Sokoto case? |
I think its a good idea. i actually saw something i like on their site that costs about 1k but i have to pay 2.5k for courier. why cant i pick it up from there office. i wrote a mail and they say they only operate online. i hope they open a physical shop were skeptics can go, pay cash and pick up there stuff. |
We need to encourage our local clubs. they also need to improve there publicity and merchandise like caps, jerseys and other club items. I was passing a sports shop one day here in kano and i saw an advert for Pillars home jersey. I was surprised because id id not know Nigerian clubs have their jerseys available in the market. They need to market more and make money from sports merchandise rather than depending solely on their owners which are mostly state governments. |

World Muslims to mark Arafat Day on Nov. 26 Millions of Muslims flock to Mecca to perform the annual Hajj (File) RIYADH (Al Arabiya) Arafat Day, when pilgrims stand in prayer on Mount Arafat marking the climax of Hajj, falls this year on Nov. 26, the Saudi Supreme Court announced late Tuesday. It said a number of people witnessed the Zul Hijjah crescent on Tuesday evening. “As a result, Nov. 18 will be the first day of Zul Hijjah, while Eid al-Adha will be on Nov. 27,” said Abdul Rahman al-Kelya, the chief justice of the court. Despite fears of the quickly spreading pandemic swine flu virus, millions of Muslims from around the world are flocking to the holy city of Mecca to start Hajj, the world's largest annual pilgrimage, which unites Islam's followers in mass religious devotion and duty. Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is an obligation that must be carried out by every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to do so. It is a demonstration of the solidarity of the Muslim people and their submission to Allah. Following the route Islam's Prophet Mohammad took 14 centuries ago, Muslims stand united in front of God in the world's largest show of religious devotion. Practicing Muslims strive to perform the pilgrimage at least once in their lifetime. Saudi Arabia said it has implemented “comprehensive” programs to combat H1N1. The measures include thermal-camera screening at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport, Madinah’s Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Airport and the seaports in Jeddah and Yanbu, and health officials are working around the clock at the Hajj Terminal in Jeddah. The Kingdom is particularly susceptible to potential outbreaks of the rarely fatal H1N1 virus because of the arrivals of millions of pilgrims from all over the world. Health officials in the Kingdom said that they are implementing the recommendations made by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. While the mortality rate for H1N1 is low, the young, old and those with immune-deficiency problems are at higher risk of death from swine flu. Health officials prepare special plans every year for this tide of humanity, usually focusing on tropical infectious diseases and other health issues. This year the global pandemic of the swine flu virus has caused these officials to focus heavily on assaying concerns about the virus. |
Friendlies round-up copied from the BBC Tunisia lost at home to Saudi Arabia Cameroon and Angola battled to a draw as the DR Congo were held and Tunisia lost in international friendlies on Wednesday evening. Angola continued their preparations to host the Africa Cup of Nations with a goalless draw against Cameroon in Portugal. The stalemate follows a 2-1 win for Angola over Malta on Saturday. Djalma and Makanga scoring the goals for the Palancas Negras after they had fallen behind to a goal from Andrew Cohen. The DR Congo twice took the lead against Qatar but in the end had to settle for a 2-2 draw in a match played in the French capital Paris. The Leopards were the better side early on and opened the scoring after 37 minutes when striker Marcel Kimemba Mbayo followed up to fire home after having his initial shot saved by Qassem Burhan. Qatar levelled after 59 minutes when Ali Afif found the target, but Qatar's joy lasted for only six minutes as Mbayo restored the Leopards lead from the penalty spot. Majed Mohamad then scored the equaliser for Qatar with 15 minutes remaining. Saudi Arabia struck early to beat Tunisia 1-0 in a friendly at the Rades Stadium in Tunis. Striker Nassir Al Shamrani scored the only goal of the game after only two minutes, when he headed home a corner from Taisir Al Jassim. It was a first defeat at home for the Carthage Eagles since Portuguese coach Humberto Coelho took charge of the team a year ago. My question, is this a good omen for nigeria or are the tunisians just tired after the kenyan game |
