APGA Barred Appointees From Campaigning For Soludo, says Soludo is not our only candidate

The hope of Prof Chukwuma Soludo to clinch the APGA ticket for the 2021 Anambra state governorship election continues to dim as the state leadership of APGA led by Chief Norbert Obi has barred all the political appointees and gov's aide from Campaigning for Soludo in both social media and in physical meetings.

Chief Norbert Obi yesterday convened a meeting between the political appointees and the APGA state working committee.

At the meeting, the APGA state leadership told the appointees to stop forthwith from campaigning for any APGA aspirant on social media. They told the political appointees that APGA has not anointed any of the aspirants and that henceforth the party would not tolerate the attitude of campaigning for a particular aspirant on social media.

Uwa’s Murder suspects: We were paid N1m to rape Uwa to death by her landlady

The murderers and the rapists of Uwa, the UNIBEN freshman that was raped to death inside a church she always went to for studies, have been found.

They are currently being paraded by the Edo State Authories. The information that was gotten from them revealed that the master mind behind the attack on the young girl was not the pastor or the clerics of the church — that the earlier media allegation were directed towards.

Instead it was the landlady of the innocent girl who, according to one of the suspects, had wanted the young girl for rituals in order to boost her business.

The woman claimed that Uwa was “too pure” and also found the young lady's chastity the right kind for her underworldly intentions.

Paying these four men the sum of a million Naira, they tracked her to the church based on the information they had about Uwa's usual routine, and they came like the wind of evil that they are and attacked the girl.

Oyo Serial Killer: I killed another person after escaping from police custody

Sunday Shodipe, a 19-year-old murder has confessed to killing another person after escaping from police custody two weeks ago.

Mr Shodipe made the confession when he was paraded by the state police commissioner, Joe Enwonwu, on Wednesday.

PREMIUM TIMES reported that the suspect was arrested on July 17 for killings at Akinyele area of Ibadan during COVID-19 lockdown. He reportedly killed at least three women within two months.
He later escaped from police custody on August 11 but was rearrested on August 23.

Mr Shodipe, on Sunday, said he was able to escape due to police negligence.
Speaking with journalists, on Wednesday, while being paraded alongside 32 other suspects, he confessed to killing one, Oladeji Funmilayo.

He explained that a herbalist with whom he was earlier detained advised him to run away to enable him get blood to appease some spirits.

“After escaping from Mokola, I needed to appease the god and that was why I went to Akinyele to kill the woman. Blood gushed out and I recited what Baba always said I should recite, mentioning his name. I disappeared as usual.”

ANAMBRA POLL: A Candidate Once Defeated Will be Defeated Again By the Same Guard

Electioneering period in Anambra state has always attracted public opinion and chronicle reactions from concern citizens of the state. Elections in the state previously involves different political parties with utmost respect to multi-party system of democracy in Nigeria.

Consequently, some parties are seen as popular and acceptable by the citizens of the state while others are regarded as regional and tribal party.

However, in 2013, election was conducted in Anambra state and 3 major political parties was involved among others, PDP, APC and APGA.
APGA and PDP was regarded as IGBO parties and well adopted in the state while APC seemed otherwise.

Furthermore, a particular candidate of PDP was woefully defeated in the poll by ferocious and articulate APGA, led by Mr Peter Obi, and Willie Obiano was returned elected as governor of Anambra State.

Since then, the same candidate who could not defeat APGA with the popular PDP have since then returned to unpopular and unacceptable APC to contest for the same prestigious position he woefully lost in 2013. APC delegates would soon go into primary to choose who could fly the party's flag in the Nov, 18th poll but the big question is this: How can someone who could not defeat APGA with a popular and acceptable PDP perform magic with a rejected and unacceptable APC? A candidate who could not wrestle for fun is aspiring to embark in a war of death!!! If we did beat him in a more acceptable platform in 2013, then will do it again if he emerges as the flag bearer of the song called Hausa Party.

SENATOR ANDY UBA WALKS THE TALK - Picks Nomination Form

The distinguished Senator representing the good people of Anambra south and APC Anambra governorship front running aspirant, this afternoon picked the nomination form confirming his intention to fly the party flag as the APC Governorship candidate for the November 18, 2017 Anambra Gubernatorial Elections.

The Senator arrived the party secretariat with an intimidating quad of 40 distinguished Senators of the federal republic of Nigeria. Accompanying him were Sen. Shehu Sani, Sen. Dino Malaye, also very close to him was Sen. (Mrs) Uche Ekwunife.

Sen. Uba who received the party nomination form from the Organizing Secretary of the party, Sen. A group of concerned Anambrarians after seeing the recent efforts by some mischief makers to tarnish the hard built image of the Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic Senator Andy Uba, took to the streets of National Assembly to protest against the recent blackmail on the hardest working Senator of the Federal Republic, the group decided to act because they have seen the good works of Senator Andy Uba both in the Senate and in his constituency and passed an overwhelming vote of confidence in him - reiterating that they are very pleased with his representation.

The leader of the group, Chidi Orji who spoke to pressmen said that they decided to protest because the blackmail and buy-ins of hired protesters and never do wells whom have decided to tarnish the hard built and well polished image of the longest serving Senator from Anambra State and the Senator will the most sponsored bills in the 8th Senate is callous and barbaric.

Orji, further urged anyone who wants to see Andy Uba's certificate to do so through the legitimate means. Such persons can choose to utilize their freedom of information rights and not display their ignorance publicly all in the name of protest.

Other protesters who spoke expressed their dismay at the development and urged young people to channel their energies productively. Biafra is not yet here rather we lost people we love... which I know with a proper staged and planned strategy we would/will have it in no distance time. Today Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is freed and will likely to go back to his citizenry residence London, maybe continue with his unarmed media international awareness which i support and have been following until the federal government ignored the needful going after unarmed man in a democratic county which I'm glad they've have corrected and no time is late.

So if the Most Powerful was "Alli Must Go" and Alli didn't GO.

And the second most powerful was freedom is not given but taken and dead bodies were given instead freedom.

Then we must change our tactics!

Anambra and Southeast youths in general can make a great transformation in four years! I am very sure of this! Don’t allow anybody to convince you that you cannot!

I know we can do it. The incumbent government is wicked and barbaric, because that Ogbunike and Nkweleezunaka are in land case, Obiano's wife advised him to destroy the properties of Nkweleezunaka people because he was their in-law. He is using Ochoa brigade to destroy those properties.

Here comes my question: Is this the kind of man Anambra need as their leader to second tenure the unlawful and substandard administration? If actually he should be the next governor of Anambra state, he will do more than required, destroy even Anambra itself.

This sort of governance is highly unacceptable.

The Coalition of Civil Society Groups (CCSG) has urged those behind the attack on Senator Andy Uba to desist.

They described the attack on Uba as “most malicious and cheap blackmail.” The CCSG President, Comrade Etuk Bassey, spoke at a news conference in Abuja at the weekend. He said that there was no iota of truth in the accusation that Uba forged his academic certificates. Bassey said: “His certificates have been confirmed to be authentic after exchange of correspondence with all concerned institutions and the resulting responses attesting to the authenticity and validity of same.

“Some desperate, greedy and self-serving politicians have been found to be behind the shenanigan aimed at placing on Senator Uba the burden of proof in a bid to ultimately destroy his image.” He urged the proprietors of falsehood to desist from spoiling Uba’s records.
“It is on this note that we want to implore all Nigerians to always be vigilant and continue to see beyond the clandestine motives of these desperate politicians,” the group said. Etuk added that although it was not uncommon for misunderstanding to arise, the truth must always prevail.
“Also, we call on security agencies to investigate, arrest and prosecute these corrupt politicians with penchant for sponsoring media propaganda against political office holders in order to blackmail and unsettle the polity as their action is not any different from those sponsoring the now decimated Boko Haram sect,” he said. He praised President Muhammadu Buhari for the economic roadmap.

“We also call on all Nigerians to continue to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, especially the recently unveiled Economic Recovery and Growth roadmap, aimed at helping the nation to successfully navigate out of the murky waters of economic recession,” he added.

In this piece, Ahiafor Mez justifies the entry of Senator Andy Uba into the Anambra State governorship race.

The media attacks on Senator Andy Uba since his declaration of intention to vie for office as Anambra State governor again have been sustained and I want to register my disapproval of it. The situation reminds me of the principled stand Wole Soyinka had to take against cruelty to Igbos during the 1967-1970 Nigerian Crisis. He did take that stand: “the man died who kept silent in the face of evil.”

Senator Uba is coming to election with clearly demonstrated effectiveness as a manager of people and resources, a helper to the helpless and a bridge-builder who attracts goodwill nationwide and internationally to richly empower all Ndi Anambra.

Uba was like the biblical Joseph in Egypt. He won and retained President Obasanjo’s confidence before and after his eight years as the Commander-in-chief’s closest domestic aide. Carefully using his command of access to the President, he ensured that strategic positions did not elude Igbos and Anambra State in particular. He was instrumental to the appointment of many Igbo people among others into the Administration. His position, arguably a reward for exemplary sacrifice and maintained by continuing faithfulness, became a wide open door of inclusion and accommodation.

As senator till date, Uba continued to serve the people. Issues affecting Igbo rights always found a voice in him. Courageously he has acknowledged that Igbo share of Federal Government jobs has reduced since the “change”, but added that the current ruling party would reverse the situation now that he is one of them. He is one of the senators that advocated the inclusion of the second Niger Bridge and the repair of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Railway lines in the 2017 Budget of the Federal Government.

He has argued for the release of Nnamdi Kanu the detained director of Radio Biafra, London. He has also called for the investigation of the alleged extra-judicial killing of pro-Biafran agitators by the Nigerian Army. A quietly active lawmaker, Senator Uba has sponsored not less than four bills which will improve the ease of doing business when they become law. Including Company Income Tax Amendment Bill, the National Roads Fund Establishment Bill, Consumer Protection Act 2004 Repeal Bill and the Competition (Anti-Trust) Commission Establishment Bill, these legislative efforts have occupied the minds of fellow senators who are making inputs to them towards enactment.

Outside the senatorial scope, he has enlarged his people-oriented ventures to wide acclaim. He is lauded for building and donating a civic centre as well as a vocational training centre to his Uga community. An auditorium and an FM station for the Mass Communication department of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and an 8,000 capacity church building in Nnewi are also ascribed to him. Also to his credit is the Faculty of Pharmacy building at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka where 120 students have benefited from his scholarship programme. Again, scores of jobless youth have been empowered to provide food for their families through his donation of tricycles and motorcycles with which they freight people and materials.

Today, good news of Senator Uba; and tomorrow brings more. The excitement among Andy’s supporters continues to increase; the camp is gaining more and more activists by the day. No wonder, more and more stalwarts defect from APGA and PDP and join APC where Andy Uba has united with Chris Ngige, Tony Nwoye, George Moghalu, Phil Agbasi and other crowd pullers.

And this is no small worry to those who think Anambra State shouldn’t ask for more. This is the only cause of the desperate attacks on Senator Uba.

Well anyone who aspires to serve his people must endure flaks. Mandela’s walk to South Africa presidency was no easy walk. He was arrested a couple of times and finally sentenced to life imprisonment. He was a prisoner for 27 years until fortune smiled on him and released him to lead the healing of the apartheid-battered country. Likewise, Trump’s path to the presidency of the United States was strewn with thorns, but he fought on till the end and emerged victorious. Senator Uba must therefore take all the attacks in his stride. So far he has shown the capacity for that.

Senator Emmanuel Nnamdi Uba, representing Anambra south and an aspirant of the forthcoming governorship in the state election has described as hogwash, group of hired protesters and some media reports claiming he forged certificates, saying all his certificates are authentic and could be verified by anyone who wishes to find out.

A group of hired protesters this morning in Abuja demanding the removal of Senator Andy Uba over the alleged certificate scandal that Senator Uba forged his Secondary and Degree certificates. The claims, the consensus and Consummate All Progressive Congress (APC) Aspirant for the November gubernatorial election in Anambra has said were sponsored by his political foes who are jittery at his rising profile and clear chance of getting the All Progressives Congress, APC gubernatorial ticket for the forthcoming election.

Senator Andy Uba in a conference call with some media houses said none of his certificates were forged. He further stated that anyone willing to verify his certificates is free to go to all the schools and institution he claimed awarded the certificates.

"The recently story by Sahara Reporters is nothing but a hogwash sponsored by my political opponents who are getting jittery at my rising enviable profile and clear chance that I will no doubt emerge the APC candidate for the November gubernatorial election in Anambra. I remain focus and undeterred by the fake stories," Uba stated.

Meanwhile, Senator Uba also denied that one Victor Uwaje claiming to be his former lawyer is not but a cheap blackmailer who had severally attempted to extort money from him through blackmail,

Mr. Victor Uwaje had claimed in a publication on Premium Times, an online newspaper that he was a former lawyer to Senator Uba, who had helped him in several legal matters both home and abroad.

But Senate Uba in a Press Statement signed by his Media Consultant, Comrade Dr. Ajibade Sunday and made available to News Punch, debunked his claims in its entirety. He said at no time did Victor Uwaje was his lawyer or solicited on my behalf on any legal matter or matters either in Nigeria or abroad.

The statement further stated that Victor Uwaje is a known blackmailer who had severally attempted to extort money from him through blackmailing his reputable name.

The Statement reads:

"Our attention has been drawn to a publication on Premium Times where one Victor Uwaje claiming to be a former lawyer to Senator Emmanuel Nnamdi Uba, (APC, Anambra South); we hereby unequivocally restate that at no time did the bearer, Victor Uwaje was a lawyer or solicited on behalf of Senator Uba on any legal matter or matters either in Nigeria or abroad."

"Victor Uwaje is no person than a known blackmailer who had attempted severally to extort money from me through blackmailing. In fact, Senator Andy Uba has written a petition against him (Victor Uwaje) bothering on blackmailing to the Inspector General of the Nigerian Police."

"The public is here urged to disregard his claims, that they are nothing but false claims aimed at blackmailing me; that very soon, appropriate legal actions shall be instituted against him."
