Popular Oyo Federal Rep, Prince Akinremi Jagaban Advises Governor Seyi Makinde on safety steps in combating coronavirus. In a release made through his official Facebook page, the Ìbàdàn North Federal Rep touched a variety of topics which includes his activity as a member of the House Committee on Emergency and Disaster Preparedness in this covid-19 pandemic times. He also talked about the contributions of the 9th Assembly of the House of Reps to the fight against coronavirus among others. Read below; Covid-19 Pandemic. The world is currently experiencing what can be referred to as its most challenging phase in recent history, as the novel COVID-19 ravages through it, destabilizing economies and putting a halt to the general order. This has in no small measure brought hardship on humans. As a result, the Federal House of Representatives arrived at specific decisions in the collaborative fight against this pandemic. The Federal House of Representatives has agreed to donate 100% of our salaries in the next 2 months to the fight against coronavirus. This contribution is committed to the welfare of frontline medical professionals and health workers, as well as to other interventions to provide for the well-being of Nigerians through this difficult time. It is worthy to also mention that the House of Representatives has called on the Central Bank of Nigeria, as part of it's policy measures in response to covid-19 outbreak, to immediately direct cash grants to the 774 LGA's of the nation, to provide food and other essentials to at-risk individuals and communities. The House Committee on Health, and that on Emergency and Disaster Preparedness, of which I am a member shall diligently oversee the distribution of relief items donated by local and foreign donors to ensure proper management. At this point, it is important to encourage ourselves not to take the COVID-19 outbreak for granted. We also cannot afford to think that it is peculiar to a certain class or group of people. Currently, Ọ̀yọ́ State ranks the third among states with cases of this pandemic. As such, it is important that we as individuals obey the various instructions from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Federal Ministry of Health and other certified health professionals. I wish His Excellency, Engr. Ṣèyí Mákindé a speedy and total recovery as we continue to keep you in our prayers, and also use this avenue to advise that His Excellency takes the decision to lock down Oyo State. As difficult as this might be, I believe taking this decision will be in the greater good of our people, considering the sporadic rate at which covid-19 spreads. Also, I commend the Chief Medical Director of the University College Hospital (UCH) Ìbàdàn, Professor Jesse Ọ̀tẹ́gbayọ̀; The Provost, Professor Ezekiel Ọlápàdé-Ọláọ̀pá and the Deputy Provost, Professor Ọbáfúnkẹ́ Dénlóyè of the University of Ìbàdàn College of Medicine, who became victims in the course of seeking a solution to the spread and harm of this pandemic for staying true to their calling as life savers. This is a proof that everyone is a potential victim. I pray they recover in good time, and I believe they will come out of it better and stronger. Ultimately, I pray that all victims of Covid-19 in Nigeria and World over recovers, and I charge us all as citizens to work in collaboration with agencies in charge to defeat this virus. May Humanity Prevail Over Coronavirus! Prince Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban MHR, Ìbàdàn North Federal Constituency.

As a people, insecurity is fast becoming a natural disaster. Very soon, we may forget that we ever enjoyed peace as a nation. Yet, we have an Army, Airforce and Naval Force. We have a Police that has forced several operations on the masses such as Operation Burst, OP MESA and the Federal SARS. We also have a number of paramilitary establishments here and there, yet we cannot sleep with both eyes closed. Need I blame the National Security Adviser, Monguno for taking extra care in an attempt to secure the presidency? The number of lives lost to Boko Haram terrorism, Herdsmen insurgency, occultic killings and kidnappings here and there among others are enough reasons to go the extra mile. If Shiites (few months ago) could pose so much threat to the National Assembly that the country lost a police officer to their attack, and a lot of Nigerians living and working in the FCT could not go to work or let their children go to school because Shiites were holding a violent protest, our service chiefs should have voluntarily resigned by now. This however, is not to say that the NSA has any constitutional authority to either issue directives to the Service Chiefs, or a constitutional standing to determine who the Chief of Staff to the President meets with or what meetings he presides over. According to the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended; Third Schedule, Section 25 states the formation and membership of The National Security Council clearly. By this provision, the NSA has no role other than being a member of the National Security Council. It is worthy of notes that the tenure of each service chief is expired. And judging by the state of insecurity in the nation, none of them should be brought back. They should all have been replaced by now. Only a good turn deserves another. One of the major responsibilities of a government is to protect lives and property. Without mincing words, our state of security as a nation has been a nightmare. This is March 2020, about a year that this administration was trusted with votes of the people to lead on; concerning our security, nothing has changed for good. We are still at same spot. As a representative of the people and a true son of Ìbàdàn, I say if our Service Chiefs cannot be proactive over the lives of the masses and the soldiers they command, they should be laid off. Prince Akínrẹ̀mí Jagaban, MHR, Ìbàdàn North Federal Constituency.

On Ìbàdàn North Party Office. Few days ago, we read on a blog incidences about our party, the Ibadan North APC office, with regards to payment of electricity bill. A particular Idowu Lekan-Salami was sung praised by perceived sycophants whose aims are yet to be fully known. What these set of people failed to mention is that the acclaimed light bill is just #20,000, so it's quite unfortunate that some set of people will throw caution to the wind, jubilating over Mr Lekan-Salami's #20,000, one the party has even called Mr Lekan-Salami to come and retrieve. This is because this same bill has been paid by the party, but receipt was earlier misplaced. This is not to say Mr Idowu's gesture isn't appreciated, as every member of the party is also encouraged to give to the party as God blesses them. Concerned party members in Ìbàdàn north, the likes of Harley Jubril, Isiaka Oduwole, Olaitan AbdulHamid and others has since shown gratitude to Mr Idowu Lekan-Salami for his gesture. However, it is important to note that where the party currently occupy is a rented shop, and Prince Akinremi Jagaban (Ìbàdàn North's special son) has been paying the rent for that place prior the primary election that eventually catapulted him to becoming our Federal Rep. Moreso, Prince Akinremi Jagaban has since taken steps and has at the moment, secured a more befitting place for the party. We can contribute our quota to the party, but character assassination as observed in the release made on behalf of Mr Idowu Lekan-Salami is something that should be discouraged. Ìbàdàn North APC has a lot of challenges already, we should only be concerned with fence-mending, putting our house in order, so as to be ready for the next general elections, and to advance the course of our dear party, these which are obvious in the steps taken by Prince Akinremi Jagaban so far, as he has dedicated time to reaching out to all and sundry. This is why acts of glory hunting and chasing self adulations should be discouraged and discarded by everyone who truly put the interest of the party first. Thank you. Concerned Ìbàdàn North Youths.

LASSA FEVER: Prince Akinremi Jagaban (PAJ) team takes LASSA FEVER sensitization around Ibadan and Ibarapa. A team representing the interest of Prince Akinremi Jagaban, the Ibadan North Federal Rep, alongside several volunteers embarked on a LASSA fever sensitization tour around Ibadan, and to parts of Ibarapaland in the course of the last three weeks. This according to the team is done in genuine concern for the health and total well being of the people, as the more informed the people are, the farther our communities are from LASSA fever. Some of the places visited are Bodija, Sango, Mokola, Beere, Oje, Dugbe, Ogunpa, Challenge, Molete, Ringroad, Eruwa, Igangan, Tapa, Ayete among others. Also, awareness through electronic media, TV and Radio was made by the PAJ Media Team, all in ensuring people are adequately informed. See pictures;
