Whoever wrote this article is a complete nitwit. How does the personal life of the ministers affect the salary they are to earn? So because they pay $40,000 as school fees for their children, FG must raise their salary so they can maintain their extravagant lifestyle. As far as im concerned this is a good development and it must cut across all sectors of the economy. It would be hard to touch the lawmakers earning, but that should be the next thing to be done. These idiots have the rights to sponsor an article condemning their earnings and they could not fight for 18,000 minimum wage to be increased... |
What sort of news, accusation or claim is this? If those guys were truly merceneries, they did not need to hit their car with his before they can strike. If the claim is true, DS's security details should be more than enough to flag the car down and check who the occupants are. Abi na only civilians dey can shakara and beat up at the slightest opportunity? I dont see any truth in this claim jare. The number Ekweremadu is calling is not available at the moment, pls try again later.... |

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission has traced N292million to the account of one of the permanent secretaries that were asked to vacate office on Tuesday. ICPC made the discovery during the discreet investigations into the five months the permanent secretaries presided over ministries in the absence of ministers. Anti-graft investigators were said to have commenced probe into the permanent secretaries’ reign shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari submitted the ministerial list to the Senate. Investigators became curious upon discovery that the account of one of the permanent secretaries swelled up to N292m in the last five months. According to PUNCH, three more permanent secretaries might also face trial for alleged corruption. There had been a report that five former permanent secretaries would face trial for alleged corruption. It was learnt that the ICPC’s investigations were not limited to permanent secretaries that were compulsorily retired on Tuesday but also those who served in the past five months and still in service. Findings showed that the ICPC might invite some of the permanent secretaries for interrogation upon the completion of its investigation next week. A source, who confided in Punch, said, “It is true that the ICPC is probing the activities of the permanent secretaries. About N292m was traced to the account of one of the recently retired perm secs. “The commission has concluded investigating some of the permanent secretaries while others are still being investigated. For those that we have concluded investigations on them, we have sent their files to relevant places for action. “It is not exactly true that those who were not sacked by the President in the recent exercise are innocent. They are also being investigated.” In fact, the ICPC had been investigating some directors and that the Federal Government had directed anti-graft agencies to place emphasis on recovery of funds from corrupt former public officers. A Presidency source stated, “I can tell you that the focus of the government is changing. The President is more interested in recouping the stolen money. “The President and his advisers are not unmindful of the fact that prosecution could take a long time. The President is more interested in recouping the money. “What is happening is that the anti-graft agencies go for the facts, very strong facts that cannot be denied, confront the people with the evidence and ask them to return the funds if they don’t want to go to jail. “And many of them are cooperating. I can tell you for sure that people are returning money.”

ABUJA – Federal Government is presently considering the option of raising the tariffs on imported used cards to enable Nigerians afford new vehicles. This is as the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has urged the National Automotive Design and Development Council to make out a comprehensive vehicle credit purchase scheme. The directive came against the backdrop of the Council’s plan to develop the automotive industry by reintroducing vehicle assembly operations, under the National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP). Speaking in Abuja during a briefing by the council, Osinanjo noted that “the Council bill is taking time but it should be made to work for those who cannot afford new vehicles.” The Vice President however shared concerned about the strategy for raising funds and pressure which the importation of used vehicles exert on the foreign exchanged, also expressed concern about the effect the high import duties may have on Nigerians who cannot afford new cars and on transportation in general. Also expressing concern about the spate of smuggling of used vehicles which has impacted negatively on the economy, he also urged the Council to work with other agencies such as the Nigeria Customs as well as a soft-ware that can check the menace. He told the Council to put up a strong case for the credit purchase policy, the timing of the policy and the cushion effect it may have on those who cannot afford new vehicles while promising to take up the case with the Central Bank of Nigeria. Speaking earlier, the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council, Engr. Aminu Jalal, who led the delegation said the objective of the policy is to “ensure the revival, development and growth of the Nigerian Automotive industry, using local human and material resources”. Jalal who solicited for gradual increase of tariff starting with those aged up to two years as 3 – 6 month old cars imported as used vehicles stated that the goal of the National Automative Development Policy was to increase customs revenue without increase in prices of assembled vehicles and make investment attractive and convenient. He also expressed optimism that Nigeria will win the war against smuggling, saying that a programme would be put in place to impose protective tariff and levy as well as an electronic online solution to capture the 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) obtained by Nigeria Customs Service upon payment of Duties. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/fg-to-raise-import-duties-on-used-vehicles/ |
I would be glad if you could publish this so the relevant authorities can have their hands and eyes on this guy. His name isnt known because he had removed his name tag. So we cant say for sure if he really works for Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps. But he wore NSCDC uniform and he was using it to create havoc in Coconut Bustop, apapa. He was seen collecting money from cars that were heading towards tincan on Tuesday 29th by 10:05am. One elderly man refused to pay - for plying a road that was constructed by FG, and before we know it he hit the man's vehicle with the stick he is holding. Asked the man to stop his vehicle and dragged him out of the car and started hitting him. If not for the intervention of my friends and i he would have tore the man's cloth. There were two soldiers, a few police rank and files and one NSCDC working there without their name tags on, just to hide their identities from the evil they perpetrate on that road. As we were even trying to settle the matter, one soldier came with his rifle and asked us to back down. When the uniform men are done collecting tips from Trailers heading to the port and Deport, they would descend on the motorist trying to make their ways to the office. Please the relevant authorities should take this up. Besides why would the uniform guys be allowed to work without their name tags on? Dont they have supervisors? Their ranks and name tags have been removed, and they claim they are on official duty.

Richie0974:I dont think you understand the calamity and the starvation people are going through because of this so called leader. A leader whose ambition is bigger than the lives of thousands. People know they have bn cornered by saraki's greed, and our people dont play wit their stomach; i guess thats our problems these days. But if you must call someone a leader dont call a thief a leader. Whether he is a senate president or not, he has robbed his people and that alone disown him being a leader. Guilty or no guilty, Bukola saraki himself know he is not a good leader and there are so many of them in our country. Check your time bro, you need to learn about the qualities of a good leader. There are qualities of a bad one too and thats where saraki falls...safe journey mate |
klickash077:Do you remember how he chases the people of Shonga village out and relocated them to somewhere else? He promised the people of kwarans that the products and proceeds of that farm would be for the development of the people of the state; food would be subsidized and all. But today, not even one tin of garri is seen in any market in kwara. He converted the farm to his own snd most of the products are sold abroad. Even all the products. The day i saw some products of shonga farm been exported abroad, i hated what we stand for as a nation... |
Nothing makes me sad that the negligence we practice as profession. If an ordinary ID card could be enough reason for doctors who are suppose to be life nourishers neglect a dieing human, that its better to seek conscience before we venture into any profession. These are the same people that go into strike anyhow all because of money not because of lack of equipments or training. It is unfair not to try at all. The death of the beautiful child is like a locket at the neck of those doctors. Though, death is inevitable but it is also avoidable ( for some period of time). Our doctors and nurses lack human emotions. I dont blame them, it like most of them are forced to embrace that profession, because i cannot claim to be caring, love to safe lives and a dying person would be ignored just because of ID card... |

micklplus:You are the one that def doesnt know how the scheme works. Why do you think Nigeria Army opted out of the mess? It is a scam and people nw realise it. Do you think alot of people would not have gone a different direction if it is not mandatory? I dont know why you are bringing the subject of insurance here when we have not digressed from the so-called penscam.... |

Pension scheme is a scam. This system does not even work effectively. All these right ups are the same promises that come out of PFAs marketers to convince people everything is right. Besides i see no reason why a retiree cannot get all his pension at once. What is the logic behind giving someone a token for a set period of years when you can actually pay at once? The system should be scrapped or correct some of their wrong policies... |
I do not think we need people like FFK in the country. They are to biased to be a role model or to even be known publicly. Irrespective of whatever party someone may follow, our reasoning and thinking should not be wayward. |
That is why your wish of being rich as bill gate may never come true. Because Angels like bill gate help without not waiting for thank you. Help should be your priority if you are truely blessed, not the abuse you get in return. freakthingz: |

Prior to the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki as Senate President and Yakubu Dogara As Speaker, the People’s Democratic Party has revealed that the PDP were approached by the principal figures of the All Progressives Congress, seeking their supports to emerge as leaders. This was revealed by the publicity secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh who further said that the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu actually reached out to certain leaders of the PDP to sell his anointed candidates for the positions of Senate President and Speaker, House of Representatives. The PDP national publicity secretary further disclosed that the camps of Femi Gbajabiamila and Senator Ahmed Lawan promised PDP lawmakers in both the Red and Green Chambers, juicy committees. “We call on the APC to resolve their differences. The APC leaders have wrongly accused Saraki and Dogara of negotiating with PDP and that’s why they are calling for their heads. But I can categorically tell you today that Tinubu, Lawan and Saraki, Gbajabiamila all approached PDP for cooperation for positions of Senate President and House of Representatives. “Tinubu reached out to PDP leaders-I can tell you that he made phone calls, he negotiated- same thing with Gbajabiamila, same thing with Lawan! Saraki did the same thing and Dogara. “So, the PDP sat down, met with our leadership in the National Assembly, the former Senate President, David Mark, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, the deputy national chairman of our party, myself, some governors and the chairman, Board of Trustees of our party, Haliru Bello and we looked at the offer of all the various interests in APC, to determine, which one was in the best interest of the party. “Some offered a lot to our senators in terms of key committees. “Lawan and Gbajabiamila virtually offered PDP juicy committees, but what swayed us and the reason why PDP endorsed Saraki and Dogara is the fact that they had been our members and because they were brought up and nurtured under the PDP, ideology they already know that the peace and unity of this country is paramount to us as a party. “ The fact that we are for national interest and not individual interest, we decided to support people who at one time in their lives, shared the same ideology with us than people whom we know, especially the zoning that they have done and the way they allocated the offices, they are more interested in personal interest.” Asked if the endorsement of Saraki Dogara and others, who actually dumped the PDP would not encourage rebellion in the party, Metuh said they defected “to other parties to foster their political interest. “ On what basis did they rebel against the party? They may not have been right, but at no point did they query the ideology of the party and put their individual interest above that of the party. At no point did they question the ideals of the founding fathers of our party. The fact that we believe in the unity and progress of this country, they never questioned.” So, if they went to other parties to foster their political interest, that’s different. “If we had a choice, we would have gone for a PDP Speaker or Senate President, because PDP is an honorable party, because we already gave our words that we are going to support Senator Saraki. We decided to keep faith. If PDP had nominated anybody he would have won and they needed two third to reverse it, which they did not have . So, I think the APC should be grateful to us for being honourable. We may have lost the election but we haven’t lost decency and our diligence.” The PDP national publicity scribe also dismissed speculation of a deal to ensure that Senator Saraki and Dogara return to the party. “Definitely not. It would have been insulting for PDP to make such demands from Saraki and Dogara. At no point in our discussions with them did we ask them to dump their platform for PDP.” |
Dnarvaez:And whats the moment of truth? |
dealslip:But you know the accusation seems baseless. This man contested 3times. Are they saying our judicial system failed those 3times to stop him? These failed corrupt politicians are just looking for ways to stop him before the poll but i can bet you, if he wins...Nigeria of tomorrow would be far sweeter than Nigeria of today and yesterday. He is also surrounded by corrupt friends too, one thing is sure dem go all hear if GMB wins. Dont you see the strend of campaign against him? Using religion/ethnicity to campaign against someone is an empty thing. He ruled us once, but no kobo was stolen while he was there. A disciplinarian is all we ask for, and GEJ isnt it. These people r too corrupt for this country to move forward. The likes of Agbakoba saw this coming, no wonder they did everything within their power to stop Jonathan from becoming the president...Anyways we will get whatever we deserve. |

tuborme:Destroyed your future how? Was buhari in power when biafra war started? Was Buhari the president that borrowed money to host Festac 77? Was buhari the same man whose friends r stealing fuel to sell abroad? Did buhari protect any minister from prosecution? If you were touched by his swords, it meant you, or some members of your domain was involved in something shady... Believe it or not. whether he makes it or not, he is the best chance we have for now to reduce the level of corruption in our society. At this age and time you still think a man would be nursing a religious agenda for years without not portraying it. Even a snake changes skin time to time when its due.
