Politics / Don’t Re-elect Governors Who Failed To Pay Salaries, Buhari Tells Nigerian by Skipomobile: 1:09pm On Sep 08, 2019
President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians not to re-elect governors who failed in their first terms, especially those who failed to pay civil servants salaries even after collecting bailouts from the federal government.

Mr Buhari, who spoke with the Hausa service of the Voice of America, which was aired Tuesday morning, said he saw no justification in governors collecting bailout funds from the federal government and still failing to pay wages.

The president was quoted as saying, “I wonder how these governors are able to sleep knowing that they have refused to pay workers their wages

“These workers have families to cater for, they pay rent, pay school fees, Hospital bills and food for their families.”

Mr Buhari said the Nigerian Constitution gives governors the independence to spend their funds without interference and that is why some are abusing that privilege by refusing to work for the people.

Politics / South Africans Are Killing Nigerians, Buhari Is Laughing With Their President by Skipomobile: 12:15pm On Sep 04, 2019

South Africans are killing Nigerians, Buhari is laughing with their president

On Tuesday, the United States announced a hike in the cost of visa application for Nigerians. The US Consulate in Nigeria didn’t mince words in explaining the move: The total cost for a US citizen to obtain a visa to Nigeria was higher than the total cost for a Nigerian to obtain a comparable visa to the United States. The imbalance had to be corrected. It’s a policy that can be rationalised. If a country’s citizens are not inferior to another’s, their visa application to that country should not be costlier than the other way.

It is the least a country could do for its citizens. In this specific case, the US had apprised Nigerian authorities of the disparity in visa fees. Well, the Interior Ministry set up a committee and, as with many things Nigerian, that was the end of the matter. That’s such a shame. What was more mortifying was the ministry’s lowering of the Nigerian visa application fee for US citizens within 24 hours of the US Consulate’s protests — a move US authorities were clearly unimpressed with. Gaping hole exposed: Nigeria’s diplomatic relations are far more woeful than we’ve been imagining.

Politics / International Community Has Rejected Buhari- PDP - Skipomobile.com by Skipomobile: 3:40pm On Sep 02, 2019
Source: http://skipomobile.com/news/international-community-has-rejected-buhari-pdp/

The Peoples Democratic Party on Sunday said the international community has rejected President Muhammadu Buhari.
It stated that the claim was confirmed by the perceived disgraceful outing and poor attention allegedly given to Buhari by world leaders and investors at the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement said the lack of attention given to Buhari in Tokyo confirmed his alleged rejection by the international community.
He said Buhari only came home with an empty basket and pocket full of promissory notes.

Ologbondiyan said, “The conference has shown that no world leader or international investors want to do any real business with Nigeria under President Buhari, mainly because of the legitimacy burden of his presidency arising from the rigging of the February 23 presidential election, as well as overt impunity, corruption, treasury looting and recklessness that pervade his administration.

“It is lamentable that while President Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress are celebrating a mere pledge of $300,000 (N108m) from the Japanese Prime Minister and a promissory note for E50m from an EU commissioner, his Ghanaian counterpart, Nana Akufo-Ado, sealed a deal with automobile giant, Toyota, to immediately establish a Toyota and Suzuki manufacturing plant in Ghana with a determined timeline of August 2020 for production.

“The multinational had also signed a deal to establish a similar plant in neighbouring Ivory Coast with a Memorandum of Understanding to that effect already signed last Thursday.”

According to him, Toyota preferred Ghana because of the favourable economic climate prevailing in the country; a climate, which, he stated, had taken flight from Nigeria under Buhari.

In another statement, Ologbodiyan said Buhari had abdicated his responsibilities as the President of Nigeria.

He said, “The PDP notes with dismay that the Buhari presidency only stops at issuing condemnations, publishing commiserations and embarking on condolence visits with empty assurances, but takes no definite steps to address the situation and bring culprits to book.

“This complete failure of leadership and abdication of the statutory duties of the President indicates that the Buhari presidency has no solutions towards ensuring the security of lives and property in our nation.”

Politics / Gov El-rufai Hiding Fleeing Ex Police Dpo, Csp Othman Abd - Skipomobile.com by Skipomobile: 5:39pm On Sep 01, 2019
Fleeing former Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Garki Police Station, Chief Superintendent of Police, (CSP), Othman Abdulsalam, who was implicated in the killing of six Igbo traders in Apo, a satellite town in Abuja, 14 years ago, is presently the Chief Driver to Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, Pointblanknews.com investigation can authoritatively reveal.
The former DPO participated in the killing of the young Igbo traders namely, Chinedu Meniru, Augustina Arebu, Ifeanyi Ozor, Anthony Nwokike, Paulinus Ogbonna and Ekene Isaac Mgbe.

CSP Othman Abduldalam had strangled the only female victim, Augustina Arebu, who lived longer than other victims after the shooting.

He had fled Abuja when the matter heated up after then President Olusegun Obasanjo ordered an inquiry into the gruesome killing of the young traders at Gimbya Street, Area 11, Abuja, while returning from a night club.

The DPO had told one of his colleagues then after a manhunt was launched to track him down that he had gone far. “Forget me, I don go far, far. They no go fit catch me again”, he had said in pidgin English.

The discovery shows a pattern of protection provided for the two major characters involved in the killing of the young Igbo spare parts dealers, namely DCP now AIG Ibrahim Danjuma and the former DPO Abdulsalam, who are Fulani.

The police officer who ordered the killing, then Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Ibrahim Danjuma, has since been discharged and acquitted by Justice Ishaq Bello, a Fulani, and reinstated in the police force, paid his arrears of salary since 2005 when the incident took place and has since been promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).

He has also attended a senior management course at the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), Kuru, Jos, Plateau State, thus positioning him for a higher responsibility in spite of his criminal baggage.

Danjuma has maintained a low profile, avoiding public attention especially contact with the media, moving in disguises and tinted vehicles, ignoring in the process the huge capacity of media memory.

Pointblanknews.com has learned through diligent investigation that Othman Abdulsalam, is the Chief Driver to Governor Nasir el-Rufai presently. Banking on the short memory lifespan of Nigerians, the governor deliberately employed him, having worked closely with the DPO in Abuja.

Elrufai was the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, when the DPO was implicated in the killings.

Curiously, the wanted DPO is still on the payroll of the Nigerian Police. “He was never fired by the police. He was transferred to the CID Department of Police to hide his identity and to avoid wearing police uniform. He is now the chief driver to Governor el-Rufai. In that position with dark spectacles most of the time, he can never be found so they thought.

“But he has even forgotten that he committed any such offence. He was in hiding in the first few years after he stayed in Niger Republic for some time. As it is now, he is even scheming to get a higher position in the security team of the governor”, a dependable source said.

Then DCP Ibrahim Danjuma then in charge of Operations in Abuja including the team overseeing presidential movement, had made advances to the female victim at a night club located at the Gimbiya Street Area 11, who turned him down. As they drove out of the street in a 406 Peugeot car, Danjuma radioed the next police checkpoint to halt them.

On getting to the checkpoint, Danjuma ordered the policemen at the checkpoint to open fire on the traders but the policemen were reluctant. He had snatched the rifle from one of them and opened fire on the automobile parts dealers, killing three of them instantly.

At the Garki Police station where they corpses were taken, the DPO ordered the killing of some of the traders who had jumped out of the police vehicle but were later re-arrested.

The female amongst them who was also shot, was still breathing at the police station and the DPO had to personally strangle her in a bid to cover up any evidence that may arise from there.

CSP Othman Abdusalam also supervised the burial of the victims in shallow graves at Utako District of Abuja before the panel of enquiry exhumed them for autopsy.
