Research now shows that those people who sing are happier, live longer and are generally much healthier too. "Chris Brown's house was hit early Wednesday morning in a home invasion robbery and the robbers held his aunt at gunpoint, locked her in a closet and turned the place upside down ... TMZ has learned. It went down at around 2am at the San Fernando Valley house Chris just bought. Three armed men forced their way in the house and found the aunt, put a gun in her face and ordered her into the closet. Law enforcement tells us the home invaders then ransacked the house, took money and other property and fled. The aunt called 911 and cops raced to the scene, but the robbers were long gone. The newly- inaugurated Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has announced that he will be wearing only Aba- made attires all through his tenure as governor. Ikpeazu, who made the declaration on Friday at the Umuahia Township Stadium during his acceptance speech, said the decision was to patronise and promote made- in- Aba products, which he said would compete favourably in the global market if given government support. girl, who is just 17, revealed how every day of her nine-month ordeal was 'like choosing between death and death' as she was faced with beatings and sexual assaults by the ISIS militant and his team of 'bodyguards'. The teenager told how she was gang-raped, whipped and even scalded on the thigh with boiling hot water if she didn't keep with her ISIS rapist's depraved sexual demands. The girl recalled how she was forced to recite passages from the Koran while her 'owner', calling himself Al-Russiyah, and his 'bodyguards' molested her. Now, three months pregnant with Al-Russiyah's baby, the girl says she gets flashbacks and nightmares about what he did to her. 'It was like choosing between death and death... It was terrible,' she said. 'He beat me and would be with at least one other man every time he had sex with me.' The teenager was kidnapped last August, after ISIS fighters overran the town of Shingal, also known as Sinjar, in an onslaught which sent thousands of Yazidis who had been living on the Nineveh Plain running for the mountains to escape the extremists. The teenager was handcuffed and held in a hotel by gun-toting ISIS fighters, with a number of other scantily dressed women and young girls in Mosul, Iraq. She was then moved to Islamic State's adopted capital of Raqqa, Syria, where she and dozens of other women and girls were underwent an intrusive examination to confirm that they were virgins. 'The virgins were taken to a room with 40 men,' she recalled. 'They lined us up and pointed who they wanted... I thought I might be lucky: I was not as beautiful as the others.' The girl was bought by Al-Russiyah, originally from Chechnya, who purchased her, her 10-year-old sister and two other girls in 10 minutes. Following attacks on Africans in South Africa, the House of Representatives has called on the Federal Government and President Goodluck Jonathan to recall Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the country, saying Nigeria will no longer tolerate killing of its citizens The House in a motion of urgent matter of public importance moved at plenary by Rep Abike Dabiri-Erewa, (APC Lagos), noted that for sometimes now, the xenophobic attacks on Africans in South Africa has continued unabated. The House noted sadly that the recent attacks which has left many dead, businesses and shops vandalised, many beaten up, was incited by a statement allegedly made by the South African Zulu King, Goodwill Zwelithini, who was said to have ordered African migrants to return to their country as they are no longer welcome in South Africa. “Nigeria frowns at the attacks and will no longer tolerate the killing of its nationals in South Africa. President Goodluck Jonathan must immediately convey this to President Zuma as a matter of urgency. “Nigeria should recall its High Commissioner from South Africa pending when the attacks will stop,” the House resolved. Originally born in Kuwait before moving to UK at 6, his name is Mohammed Emwazi. He embraced British life, playing football in the affluent streets of West London while supporting Manchester United. Neighbours recalled a polite, quietly spoken boy who was studious at his Church of England school, where he was the only Muslim pupil in his class. The son of a Kuwaiti minicab driver, young Emwazi arrived in Britain speaking only a few words of English, and appeared more interested in football than in Islam. It was only after he won a place studying computing at the University of Westminster that his behaviour began to change. He was on a UK terror watch list, but managed to flee to Syria in 2012. Now, he's known around the world as the notorious Islamic State murderer who has shocked the world with his blood lust. The university has since been linked with several proponents of radical Islam, and Emwazi appeared to have fallen under their sway. He began attending different mosques and was known to associate with Bilal el-Berjawi, who was killed by a drone strike in Somalia three years ago. In August 2009, after his graduation, Emwazi flew to Tanzania in East Africa with friends and told authorities they were going on a wildlife safari. But the group was refused entry and put on a plane to the Netherlands, where Emwazi later claimed he was questioned by an MI5 agent called Nick. The British officer accused him of planning to travel to Somalia to join the militant group Al Shabaab, he said, and said MI5 had been watching him. Emwazi denied the accusation – bragging that he would not take a designer Rocawear sweater in his luggage if he was planning to join Somalian rebels. In emails to the campaign group Cage, Emwazi said: ‘He [Nick] knew everything about me; where I lived, what I did, the people I hanged around with.’ ‘Nick’ then tried to recruit the 21-year-old, Emwazi claimed, and threatened him when he refused to cooperate. Emwazi said the officer told him: ‘You’re going to have a lot of trouble…You’re going to be known…You’re going to be followed…Life will be harder for you.’ On his return to Britain, Emwazi said his family told him they had been ‘visited’, and he claimed a woman he had been planning to marry broke off their engagement because her family had also been contacted and were scared. According to Emwazi, his family then began planning for him to travel to Kuwait to get him away from the ‘harassment’ he had suffered in Britain and he went to work for a computer programming company in the emirate. As reported by the AFP in an article of January 17, 2015, captioned “Thousands see off Chadian troops to fight Boko Haram,” Idriss Deby the authoritarian leader of Chad, Nigeria’s north eastern neighbor, said “in a speech read by the speaker of parliament that the new deployment (of Chadian troops to Cameroon) aimed to recapture Baga.” Cameroon had requested for and welcomed the deployment that saw 400 Chadian military vehicles arrive in Cameroon. [AFP] However Nigeria was not invited to the table. Nigeria’s military leadership as quoted by the AFP are “lukewarm.” The word is defined by Google dictionary thus: “(of a person, attitude, or action) unenthusiastic.” Nigeria’s military spokesperson, GEN Olukolade said as quoted by the AFP: “All support for our operations will be welcome, but it must conform with our own ongoing operations.” In as much as Baga at the border with Chad and another 14 to 20 local governments in Nigeria by all means needs various degrees of military liberation from Boko Haram’s control, a Chadian intervention without approval by the African union or explicit approval by Nigeria’s government, even though lacking and inebriated infringes on the laws of national sovereignty; and prompts further suspicion of the intentions of Nigeria’s neighbors who have reportedly been permissive and in some cases frankly supportive of Boko Haram [See CNN]. Nigerians in the affected territories swear that Chad president, Idriss Deby is a sponsor and financier of Boko Haram. In the course of Nigeria’s French neighbors partnering and protecting their interests, this cannot be done with permission of terror to Nigeria and at any risk to Nigeria’s territorial integrity. The world cannot continue to sit and watch these deadly conspiracies and administrative ‘errors.’ John Dramani Mahama, of Ghana, head of the regional Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS on Friday called for an African action against the Boko Haram regional threat. Absent a change of Nigeria’s incapacitated government, this is the right action, long overdue. On behalf of the people of Nigeria, we demand Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon sit down and negotiate the full modalities of any incursion by Chad and/or Cameroonian forces into Nigeria’s territory, and that the urgent agreements reached as sanctioned exigently by the African union. Indonesian officials say they have found 40 dead bodies, luggage, a plane door, and an emergency slide floating in the water off the coast of Borneo Island. They are all from the AirAsia flight that disappeared two days ago after losing communications with control tower after encountering storm clouds. At least 40 of the bodies, many of them not wearing life jackets , have been removed from the water and taken from the scene on board an Indonesian navy ship. Images on Indonesian television showed half-naked bloated bodies bobbing in the sea. Scientists said today that the cause of the deadly Ebola virus that hit West Africa this year was a 2 year old boy, known as patient zero, who played on a tree near a colony of virus-infested bats in his village in Meliandou, Guinea. He was the first person to die but before he died, he infected other family members, who then spread it to others and the virus eventually spread into other areas in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria and Senegal, before moving to the US, UK and Spain. Barely one year after Nigerians stopped him from turning the National Theatre into a hotel, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Edem Duke, secretly jetted off the country to the United Arab Emirates, UAE, where he traded off the nation’s cultural pride to Mulk Holding, a diversified UAE-based conglomerate with interests in retail sector and other businesses. The secret deal which was successfully shielded from the Nigerian media, in spite of a subsisting concessioning arrangement with the Bureau of Public Enterprises, BPE, was signed and sealed in December , 2014 between a delegation led by Duke, the General Manager of the National Theatre, Kabiru Yar’Adua and representatives of Mulk Holding, said to be ploughing the sum of $40 million (about N7.5 billion) counterpart fund into the project. According to GulfAfrica Review, in its December 10, 2014 edition, Sharjah’s Mulk Holdings, a diversified UAE-based business conglomerate, “has announced its entry into the retail sector in West Africa through a $40m joint venture to develop Nigeria’s National Arts Theatre in Lagos into a duty-free shopping centre in partnership with the Suzanne Group. “The interior of the National Theatre will be redesigned and renovated into a modern duty-free and retail shopping mall. The project will convert approximately 30,000m2 of the existing space in two 15,000m2 phases,” said Kabir Yaradua, CEO of the National theatre. The report continues: “The National Theatre has been the hub of cultural activities in Nigeria since 1976, and this will kick-start a master re-development programme for this area.” The report quoted Ambassador of Nigeria to the UAE, His Excellency Bashir Yuguda, as saying: “The National Theatre has been the hub of cultural activities in Nigeria since its establishment in 1976, and this development will compliment and kick-start a master re-development programme designed for this area.” The National Arts Theatre was originally built for the Festival of Arts and Culture in 1977, and later underwent a controversial privatisation after 2001 under President Olusegun Obasanjo. Fresh plans further anticipate leasing the land around the theatre in a 30-year concession. Minister of Tourism, HE Edem Duke, noted: “As part of the continuous drive to promote culture and tourism, the federal government is making necessary arrangements to transform the land into a modern mixed-use commercial and business hub of global standards.” Arif Hafiz, Managing Director of Suzanne Group, praised the “milestone contract” Mulk Holdings as “one of the major global business groups in the UAE”, while Shaji Ul Mulk, chairman, Mulk Holdings, elaborating on the details of the project, noted that is expected to be completed in 2016. “Mulk Holdings is adopting aggressive strategies to expand its core business, involving serious investment into existing businesses and diversification into sustainable industries,” Ul Mulk added. According to a report by audit firm Ernst&Young, Africa’s retail and consumer sector received about 17% of all foreign direct investment that came into the continent in 2013. Mulk Holdings and its joint venture partners own and manage a group of 20 companies with a sector focus on construction and fit-out manufacturing, as well as diversified business interests in trading, commodities, real estate and energy, spread across 48 countries. Based in Dubai, the Suzanne Group caters to duty free shopping outlets in international airports and seaports, and is a registered supplier of services to the offices of the United Nations. Though the theatre had been a victim of public sector incompetence, its final descent into the ignoble hall of shame of failed public institutions started in 2001 when the Obasanjo civilian government served notice of its intent to privatize the monument. Converting a public institution into a successful private enterprise has never captured the fancy of Nigerians. Many of such previous attempts at privatization of public institutions have failed and the case of the National Theatre was not different. Between 2001 and now, the theatre has remained a mere ball for government ping-ponging. It is yet to be sold or concessioned, worst still the federal government which is the original owner of the facility is behaving as though it is the least of its worries: unserious. A staff of the theatre told our correspondent that the employees are more confused than anybody. ”We don’t know our fate. Today we hear they want to privatize it and build a 5-star hotel here, tomorrow we hear a different story. This is confusing and it is affecting our morale and commitment because nobody, not even our senior staff can say categorically that this is the true situation of things. “We believe the management of the theatre is doing this deliberately to give the impression that the theatre cannot function effectively if left in the hand of government. We believe it is a cheap way to arm-twist government to sell the national pride. But some of us have travelled far and wide and we have seen equivalent institutions in other countries being managed by the public sector and they are efficient”. Political Economist investigation showed that the theatre has become a victim of power play orchestrated by the Tourism Minister, Edem Duke, in concert with the General Manager of the Theatre, Mallam Kabiru Yar’Adua both of whom, stakeholders allege, are intent on disposing of the national monument for peanuts. The Theatre, they argue, was set up by a decree just like the National Troupe and other parastatals of the Ministry of Tourism and they see no reason why it should be sold off on the whims of a minister and a manager. They cited the case of the United States where certain monuments are still held in custody of government. For instance, the United States government enacted a law in 1846 to support and preserve the Smithsonian Institution and its 19 museums across the country. In UK, the Royal National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company are publicly funded theatre outlets and they are still relevant till this day. The case of the National Theatre cannot be an exception, they warned. The National Theatre has been a victim of government policy flip-flop. The BPE commenced the concession transaction of the National Theatre in 2001 following the conclusion of World Bank-financed diagnostic study and Transaction Advisory service in line with international best practices. The first concession transaction in 2001 led to the pre-qualification of the following prospective concessionaires: Jadeas Trust Consortium, and Lloyd Anderson Investment Limited. In January 2003, the pre-qualified concessionaires conducted data room and physical due diligence. The transaction was stalled, however, owing to the inability of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to provide relevant documents such as Power of Attorney as well as building and floor plans of the National Theatre. The BPE did another concession transaction of National Theatre in 2006. Eight Consortia responded when the Bureau advertised for Expressions of Interest. This led to the financial bid opening on May 17, 2007 where Infrastructica Consortium emerged as the Preferred Bidder with a bid price of ₦35, 560, 000,000 and Jadeas Trust Limited as the Reserved Bidder with an offer of ₦28, 902,948,593.23. Following the approval of the results of the financial bid by the NCP, an offer letter was sent to the Preferred Bidder on May 18, 2007 and a timetable to complete the concession agreement by May 28, 2007 was drawn. Unfortunately, the Preferred Bidder, Infrastructica Consortium, failed to meet the terms of the offer, leading to the termination of the offer. The Reserved Bidder, Jadeas Trust, was thereafter invited for negotiation to pay for the enterprise. However, the process to conclude the transaction with Jadeas Trust was stalled. The NCP at its first meeting on January 22, 2013 approved the resumption of the concession transaction by the BPE with a view to bringing it to conclusion. The BPE has consequently invited the reserve bidder, Jadeas Trust Consortium with the offer of N28,902,948,593.23 to present a revised technical and financial proposal. The N28.9 billion bid offer, which is not yet concluded as it will form part of the renegotiation with Jedeas Trust, comprises both Entry fee and yearly lease fees to be paid over a 35-year period. This is different from the investment capital to be based on approved Post Concession Business Development Plan from which the Concessionaire is to recoup its investment and return the enterprise to the Government after 35 years in the event that the concession is not renewed. The NCP, in line with its practice to carry along ministries whose enterprises are being privatized/concession, also approved that the BPE should invite the Honourable Minister of Tourism & Culture to participate in the NCP’s technical sub-committee that will evaluate the proposal of Jadeas Trust. Jadeas Trust Consortium has submitted a revised Technical and Financial proposal to BPE. In accordance with NCP’s decision, the BPE has written the Ministry and the Management of National Theatre to send two nominees each to join the evaluation committee that will assess Jadeas Trust Consortium’s Technical and Financial proposal. The BPE is awaiting the response of both the Ministry and Management of National Theatre for the evaluation of the Technical and Financial proposal to begin in earnest. The result of the evaluation team will be presented to, first the Technical Committee of NCP for consideration before the Technical Committee presents its recommendations to the NCP for approval or further directive. At the Federal Executive Council’s meeting (FEC) held on Wednesday June 26, 2013 an Inter-ministerial Cabinet Committee was set up to consider the parallel concession transactions being carried out by the BPE and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation. With the new development being spearheaded secretly by the minister, it is not clear what has become of the earlier concessioning arrangement and the status of Jadeas Trust. Joshua Accusations and abuses were directed to popular televangelist, Pastor T.B Joshua following the collapse of a guest house at the Synagogue Church of God, Lagos on Friday, September 12 killing at least 116 people. Pastor T.B Joshua was criticised for reportedly adding two extra storeys to the guesthouse which many people blamed the collapsed on. He was accused of trying to bribe journalist so as to cover-up some reports about the collapse and became a hated figure in South Africa after the country lost about 84 of its citizen in the collapse. Sign fireman One of Nigeria’s most controversial pastors of 2014 has to be Dr. Sign Fireman who was arrested in January in connection to the murder of a 12-year-old girl, Bose. A teenage boy who allegedly was a member of Fireman’s church was arrested by the police for strangling Bose while trying to forcefully obtain faeces from her. The suspect confessed that he was asked by the controversial pastor to get the feaces of a virgin girl and that he was promised the sum of N 100,000 for the assignment. He later denied any involvement in the killing and was set free by the police. The Delta State preacher was involved in an exchange of words with leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria. Another Asian airliner has gone missing: AirAsia flight QZ8501 lost contact with air traffic control at 7:24 a.m. local time on Sunday, AirAsia reported about four hours after the plane disappeared en route to Singapore. Sunday’s missing AirAsia flight was traveling between Surabaya, in Indonesia, and Singapore. There were 155 passengers and seven crew on board the Airbus A320-200, officials have said. An AirAsia official told the media on Sunday that the plane had requested “an unusual route” before air traffic control lost contact with QZ8501 over the Java Sea. However, an Indonesia Transport Ministry spokesperson later clarified that the pilot’s request was permission to change altitude due to bad weather, Steve Herman reported for the Voice of America. “At the present time we unfortunately have no further information,” according to AirAsia’s statement. “At this time, search and rescue operations are in progress and AirAsia is cooperating fully and assisting the rescue service.” In March 2014, Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 lost contact with air traffic control when it was about several hundred miles north of Singapore. Rescuers still have been unable to find any traces of flight MH370, or its 239 passengers and crew, despite an unprecedented search effort. Mehmet Ali Agca, the Turkish man who shot and injured former Pope, John Paul II in 1981 has laid flowers on the dead pontiff's tomb in the Vatican. 56-year-old Agca told the police he felt the need to make the gesture, according to a report by Italian media. The visit comes 31 years after the late pope John Paul II visited Agca in prison and forgave him for the attempt on his life - shooting him twice at close range. The Pope was left seriously injured, with one bullet passing through his abdomen and another narrowly missing his heart. The former convict served 19 years in jail for attempted murder but the motive behind the shooting is yet to be uncovered. He spent another 10 years in prison in Turkey on charges related to the earlier murder of a newspaper editor. Reports say Agca laid white roses at the tomb of the late Pope on Saturday, in his first visit to the Vatican since his attack on John Paul II on 13 May 1981. However, Agca's request for a face-to-face meeting with Pope Francis has been denied by Vatican officials a second time. "He has put flowers on the tomb of John Paul II. The North Koreans have criticized President Barrack Obama over the release of the movie which is currently the most popular YouTube and torrent download movie. On Saturday, the North's powerful National Defense Commission, the country's top governing body led by Kim, said that Obama was behind the release of "The Interview." It described the movie as illegal, dishonest and reactionary. "Obama always goes reckless in words and deeds like a monkey in a tropical forest," an unidentified spokesman at the commission's Policy Department said in a statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency. It wasn't the first time North Korea has used crude insults against Obama and other top U.S. and South Korean officials. Earlier this year, the North called U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry a wolf with a "hideous" lantern jaw and South Korean President Park Geun-hye a prostitute. In May, the North's news agency published a dispatch saying Obama has the "shape of a monkey." The defense commission also accused Washington for intermittent outages of North Korea websites this week, which happened after the U.S. had promised to respond to the Sony hack. From watered down lyrics that do not correlate, to singing different songs on same beat, the state of the industry leaves much to be desired. Continue... 10. Hakuna Mata by KCee This song is senseless from the word go! He started like this "Five star music, E money, Its Kcee labalo". What is 'KCee Lobalo'? Is 'Lobalo' French or Spanish? In another part of the song, he said "Cecilia bum bum, cecilia bum bum, Shebi na your bum bum, cecilia bum". I don't know what's with Cecilia's bum bum o.. Most part of the song also goes like this.."Oya whine ni ni whine ni ni Whine ni ni for me oh, Oya shake e ni, shake e ni, Shake e ni for me oh, Oya whine ni ni whine ni ni, Whine ni ni for me oh, Oya shake e ni shake e ni, Shake e ni for me oh". Somewhere, he said "Oya Jikere, baby "...As if that wasn't enough, he also repeats this severally; "Oya baby no wahala, If you need anything just hala, I be monkey you be banana.." You'd have thought he was trying to invite them for a Group Intimacy... Where I come from in Oyo state, Doro is that rubber device used in drawing up water from a well. Unfortunately,this is a country where an artiste will just wake up early in the morning and find out that PHCN has brought back power supply, then out of joy he'll dash straight to the studio to record a song about UP NEPA! He'll call that an inspiration. Even Don Jazzy himself is yet to come out straight about the meaning of Doro, because the truth is that it has no meaning. A lot of people are speaking well of the maturity of Davido's song because the boy knows well to pay for the services of professional songwriters. 6. Shoki by Lil Kesh I hated this song for a very long time, however I had no choice but to like it after people won't stop playing it everywhere I go. Even the NBC ban did absolutely nothing to stop people from rocking this song which had the artiste mostly screaming "Shoki Ahhh Shoki". Davido however disappointed me this time around for accepting to feature in this kind of song. He ended up chanting the rubbish shoki along with the YBNL crew in the remix. Murder who You be Oscar Pistorious? ...Now, checkout the lyrics of the Verse 2 of the song where Patoranking came in again.. I won't speak too much, see the lyrics yourself. They started the song this way... "P-Square eh eh, Yahn ahn, (Allen [4x]), Yahn ahn" **who is Allen for crying out loud?** Then, they said "Lets go...Otu de, oya sare wa gba kekere, kerewawo, Atu ti de, oya burukutu make e sarabara owey, (Oya shekini ni ni ni ni [3x]),Oya shekina na na na na." (And what is "Burukutu" doing in there.) Folks, don't be fooled, the lyrics sounds like Yoruba but it's not correct Yoruba but a mumbo-jumbo! Another constant in the song is this verse; "I get power (ah), me I no dey bother, (ehn ehn) I no be footballer but I sabi budey Ronaldo," then they jump to this lyrics "Take it (slow),Take it (free), Alhaji (ehn ehn),Ehn ehn (listen),Take it (ahn), Take it (orijo),Alhaji (okay) Ehn ehn (hmm)". Who is this Alhaji? Well, maybe the Alhaji is supposed to drink the burukutu they mentioned above. 2. Ogaranya By Kcee ft Davido Now, I'm sorry KCee has to be in this list a second time. Personally, I'm kind of confused about him. Maybe his music is not that awkward. Maybe it's his gesticulations/dance steps in his videos, costumes or tone of his singing voice or his general fashion sense that is awkward and give off an impression of his songs from that perspective. I'm yet to place a finger on what it is. Most of the people I've asked have mixed reactions as well. They really' can't say. Ogaranya has a good meaning; A rich person or something like that. Some things are just wrong with part of the lyrics and Davido once again rubbished his own brand on this one. Check it out; Intro (Davido) "A le le le le le le le le le le On the beat is Del'B... Turns out North West was a miracle baby ... she had 3 specialists tell her she couldn't get pregnant before North was conceived. Kim and Kanye assumed the second baby would be easier since it worked once, but the doctors are telling her that's not the case. According to new research from the Legatum Institute, which last week ranked prosperity in 38 African countries around criteria ranging from economics to education to health, the title belongs to Botswana, the diamond-rich country in southern Africa. As well as posting a relatively high per capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of $15,176, Botswana also fared well in terms of governance, education and personal freedom. As the country spends 8% of its GDP on education, it is among the biggest proportional spenders in the world according to the World Bank. This is the third year in a row that Botswana has topped the index. In contrast, the Central African Republic was the lowest ranked country on the continent. The country, which has a per capita GDP of $584, has seen increasing violence since the end of 2012, and only 21.5% of the population have access to sanitation according to the prosperity index. 10. Senegal Senegal ranks as the continent's 10th most prosperous nation, according to Legatum Institute's 2014 Africa Prosperity Report, up nine places since 2012. 9. Burkina Faso Burkina Faso ranks ninth in the 2014 report, having risen by five places since 2012. 8. Rwanda Rwanda was ranked the eighth most prosperous African nation. The report praised the country for "actively encouraging women" to shape the future of their country. 7. Ghana Ghana has a vibrant economic spirit. The West African nation was ranked seventh in the prosperity rankings and was considered the second safest nation on the continent. 6. Algeria The sixth most prosperous nation in Africa is Algeria. The country, where 93% of respondents have a cell phone, topped the economy index. 5. Tunisia Tunisia is the fifth most prosperous African nation in 2014 according to the Legatum Institute. The country ranks first in the health sub-index and citizens have a life expectancy of 75 years -- 17 years higher than the African average. 4.
