My point is simply that the devil you know is sometimes better than the angel you don’t know. Look around the world. When a leader who has been in power for decades is suddenly toppled, it usually creates a power vacuum. Then you begin to have factions, the military, opposition groups and God knows who else fighting to fill it. On top of that, there’s even no guarantee that whoever eventually emerges will be any better. They almost always worse.

So if the choice is between a predictable transition to someone already within the existing system and a complete scramble for power, the former is safer at least initially.

And that's actually where the family comes in. If his wife or child takes over, you already know roughly what you're getting. They have an interest in preserving the existing order, rather than completely dismantling it and starting another power struggle.

Once you have that stable transition, it will be easier to eventually replace them without the whole country collapsing.

In a situation like this, everyone talks about how to remove him. But no one talks about what happens after you remove him. No one talks about how to avoid the chaos that can come with the sudden collapse of the regime

This here is the problem with Africa. You have a constitutional system government backed the rule of law yet finds it difficult to follow what that law says.
What does your law say about transition of power? Are they provisions in the constitution regarding how head of governments are selected or elected? If so, why do Africans like to support impunity and find ways to justify it?
Paul Biya and his family are not the only people with the leadership skill to lead the people.
Let the people decide who they want as their leader as agreed in their constitution.

If he wants to create a dynasty, he needs to create a smooth succession plan now for his wife, Chantel, or child to take over after he passes. It's important, just to avoid the kind of Robert and Grace Mugabe situation that happened in Zimbabwe.

These heads of state surely must know that they can't stay in power forever. They either die in, step away from or are removed from office. One would wonder why in the world they don't prepare adequately for that eventuality.

The problem with toppling long serving heads of state like this is that, most of the time, the person coming to replace them is the same or even worse. So it may slightly safer to keep members of his family in power, at least for a while.

You speak like a coward. Is the country his personal property? Why do think his family members are the only ones capable of leading?

There are many reasons why they travel abroad for medical treatment. Nigeria is not there yet . It is going to take years of consistent efforts like this one to get there.

Let me pretend like this story is true. A man who has destroyed the trust in his marriage will have to work hard to reestablish that trust. But this is not the case here. His body is at home but his mind is elsewhere.

I studied in the US and we called all of them professors. However, technically the title Professor is reserved for tenured teaching staff.

There are many route to acquiring real estate and they have chosen their best option.

If you are awaiting to see them float a formal architectural firm , that won’t happen, the ship has long sailed .

Just a hand full of professors make money outside of their regular salary. But majority of artisans are self employed and earn more that professors.

Professors are only in collages and universities. Almost all of them have PhD.

Those figure you are presenting are from the ones that are employed by other companies and are on fixed salary

Majority of artisans in US are self-employed, and that is where the real money is.
I know an AC ( HVAC) repair guy who makes $40k every month on average, he is self employed. Just him and his truck.
