PoliticsUS Moves To Revoke Citizenship Of Naturalized Americans by skylarr(op): 1:34pm On Feb 14
The Trump administration is significantly expanding efforts to strip U.S. citizenship from naturalized Americans as part of its broader crackdown on immigration, according to people familiar with the plans.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has been redeploying experts and reassigning staff across its field offices to identify potential denaturalisation cases.

The aim is to generate between 100 and 200 cases per month for immigration litigation, a sharp increase from previous years. During Trump’s first term, only 102 cases were filed over four years.

Denaturalisation cases have historically focused on individuals who concealed criminal histories or human rights violations during their application process. The push is part of wider Department of Homeland Security (DHS) measures that include large-scale deportation missions, expanded detention facilities, visa revocations, and attempts to deport green card holders.

USCIS spokesman Matthew Tragesser said the agency investigates when there is credible evidence of fraud or misrepresentation.

“We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards fraud in the naturalisation process and will pursue denaturalisation proceedings for any individual who lied or misrepresented themselves,” he said as quoted by NBC News.

“We will continue to relentlessly pursue those undermining the integrity of America’s immigration system and work alongside the Department of Justice to ensure that only those who meet citizenship standards retain the privilege of U.S. citizenship.”

Officials are also seeking ways to speed up the process by embedding trained staff across more than 80 field offices. The Justice Department has directed attorneys to prioritise denaturalization cases, including those involving national security risks, war crimes, torture, or government fraud, with a broad category for other significant cases.

Trump has long focused on redefining citizenship and has challenged birthright citizenship, an issue now before the Supreme Court.

In a Truth Social post, he vowed to remove anyone who was not a “net asset” to the U.S. and pledged to “denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility.”

Around 800,000 people become naturalised citizens each year, meeting requirements such as legal permanent residency, English proficiency, knowledge of U.S. civics, and “good moral character.” Experts stress that stripping citizenship remains rare and legally complex.

“It’s so important for current and future naturalised U.S. citizens to know that no president can unilaterally strip people of the citizenship they’ve worked so hard to earn,” said Doug Rand, a former USCIS official.

SportsLASU Female Football Team Was Turned Back In China by skylarr(op): 4:42pm On Sep 24, 2025
Lagos State University’s women’s football team, the LASU Queens, has been thrown out of the ongoing 2025 Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire (FISU) University World Cup Football in Dalian, China, after failing to meet the organisers’ basic squad requirements.
The setback has not only ended the team’s dream of representing Africa on the global stage but also sparked fresh questions about Nigeria’s sports administration and preparedness for international competitions.
LASU Queens, who earned the continental ticket after clinching the 2024 All Africa University Games title in Lagos, were denied accreditation when they arrived in China with just 13 players, three short of the 16 minimum required by FISU.
Regulations also mandated five team officials, which the Nigerian delegation reportedly failed to provide.
The development meant the African champions were disqualified before kicking a ball, leaving Group A opponents which are Shanghai University of Sport (China), University of the Extreme South of Santa Catarina (Brazil), and University of Valencia (Spain) with one team less.
For many of the players, the disqualification was a devastating blow after months of preparation and anticipation. Parents and students who had celebrated the team’s historic qualification last year are now demanding accountability from both the university authorities and the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA).
The disqualification also reignites the debate over Nigeria’s track record of missed opportunities in international tournaments due to administrative lapses a recurring issue in football, athletics, and even Olympic participation.
While the tournament continues in Dalian with semi-final spots up for grabs and the final slated for September 28 LASU Queens’ journey has ended before it began, leaving a bitter taste for Nigerian university sports.

AgricultureRe: What Is Wrong With My Tomato Plant? by skylarr(op): 7:49am On Oct 18, 2024
Thank you all for your contributions. I have indeed learned lot from this experience.

I started the tomato farm with a good amount of manure in the soil and they grew abundantly up till the point when they started Fruiting and that was when the problem started. I believe that the issue stemmed from too much humidity and water given that their Fruiting time coincided with higher frequency of rainfall.

Tomato likes a well drained soil!! Too much water will drain life out of it. I can't emphasize this enough. When I withdrew other sources of water from it apart from the rain, the situation improved. This explains why tomatoes planted in green houses perform well. That control of environmental factors help a lot.

Good news is that I have been harvesting since then and I have made profits despite the setback.
I will do this again by December by God's grace since the dry season would have set in by then. Fingers crossed that the experience will be more pleasant than this.

Thanks once again everyone. Experience they say is the BEST teacher. It is indeed!!!

Hello friends

I planted my tomatoes a while ago. I have been religious with watering and manure application and tbey have actually grown quite well.
Now that they started Fruiting, I noticed some of the plants just suddenly drying off and wilting. What could be wrong?

This is my first time planting tomatoes. How can I handle the situation to stop this and also prevent future occurrence.

EducationRe: Degree For Sale: Lagos Assembly Invites Commissioner, LASU VC, Others by skylarr: 9:00pm On Nov 07, 2023
I hope that the Lagos State University investigates this matter fully and deeply in order to get to the bottom of it. Everyone involved should be brought to book. Such should not be tolerated in a reputable institution such as LASU.
Acts like these forms the bedrock of corruption in the society and unfortunately, same people will say Nigeria isn't working.
