The thing is, most of our football clubs don't have youth teams, at u17 and u21...and also, there is no regular state level u17 and u21 tournaments either.

We just gather a group of lads every time and train them, and hope for the best. Sometimes it turns out well, sometimes it does not.

I've always had this worry, that our doing well at youth championships was always a house built on sand. Yes, we got some quality players over the years, but it ain't translated to y'know winning the world cup.

What we got to do is simple...train more youth coaches, get football clubs to get u17 and 21 sides, which can play against each other in a Youth league, get schools sports back on trac (which is how we even managed to win in 1985...YSFON was active then, remember them?)..and get more facilites.

And find a way to continue development of players post tournament.
